::I did not threaten you with anything. You added something, I reverted it and left a note here explaining why. You replied to that note and then reinstated, pretty much ignoring my response. Given your recent activity involving the same image for this article, that is a definition of ], is contrary to ] and is despite comments made by another contributor in this thread who ''is'' interested in cinema etc. There are two versions of the edit warring template and I selected the "stronger" one - that may well have been a mistake because I thought you were more experienced with Misplaced Pages than appears to be the case. For that, I apologise but the net result is the same: please don't do it.<p>As for your comments concerning interested users, well, I'm afraid that you are missing the point: we can all edit Misplaced Pages provided that we stay within the bounds set by ]. You were pushing that to the limit and I was not. I have a considerable amount of experience in dealing with articles relating to Indian subjects and that I am not particularly interested in images or cinema is irrelevant. :::<small>Hm, it that my selection of template was not amiss after all. I thought that you seemed more ''au fait'' than someone with 90-ish contributions. There is, however, no need for you to unwatch this article: if you choose to do so then that is your prerogative but I am merely interested in working out ''why'' this apparent desire to show alternate images of Bachchan from around the same period is such an issue for you. Health
Samrat.bose 23:29, 12 November 2007 (UTC) The part which deals with Amitabh Bachchan's health (myasthenia gravis) is filled with factual errors. It says: "Later, he was struck with with an illness called Myasthenia Gravis. This happened either because of the heavy medication that he took during his Coolie accident or because of the blood transfusion that he had received." Myasthenia gravis is a disorder where there is a problem at the junction of the nerve and muscle. Certain types of proteins at such places block the uptake of important chemicals causing the muscle to tire easily. People with myasthenia find it difficult to do things which cause the muscle to tire. For example, they find it difficult to carry on repeatative movements, or the patient may be unable to comb his hair beyond a certain time. Myasthenia is usually not known to be caused by the reasons cited. A drug called penicillamine (not to be confused with the antibiotic penicillin) can cause a similar problem, but it is not something one would have as "heavy medication" as cited. Some other drugs may exacerbate the problem in someone who already has myasthenia, but would not cause it.

Total cruft
This article is total cruft. I have replaced dozens of non-RS cites with {{fact}}. If it is not addressed pronto, I will be blanking large parts of the article. We cant have an article full of OR with {{fact}} tags sitting on every sentence for eternity. Sarvagnya 04:20, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- By saying "total craft", you don't really give a genuine reason and you didn't give. You're just quickly removing sites which names seem to be unreliable. I want you to come with every source HERE and say why it's unreliable. According to what? I had a read through WP:RS. No indication is given to your claim that box office india, bollyvista.com (which are used in featured articles, and can do NOTHING with that) etx are unreliable.
- I definitely agree that blogs, (even bollyspice.com), youtube etc are not reliable, but boxofficeindia is again the official site of box office figures in India so I'm waiting for explanations why it is not.
As for these tags. I want to see explanations and examples that will provide their necessarity:

Do we really need a mile-long filmography, people?
Another sad victim of manic filmographitis. Let's just retain key (important) films in a simple partial filmography section, and leave the rest of the documenting to www.imdb.com shall we? AppleJuggler (talk) 05:41, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Creating a separate page for the filmography is a very good option. AppleJuggler (talk) 00:06, 8 February 2008 (UTC) amitabh Bachchan's Golden Run 1973-1988
There might be an never-ending debate on how perhaps the Movie business has changed in the last 30 odd years. Actors are doing increasingly lesser movies(though this trend started in the 2000′s only),increase in other mediums of entertainment, and so on.
On the other hand there have been booms too for the industry with Music(in 90′s) , Sattellite/Cable(2000′s) providing a very good avenue for Movie Revenue thus helping a lot in the movie’s recovery.
Also can be said that modes of promotions has also increased by leaps and bounds. But leaving the above behind, and going movie to movie, Amitabh Bachchan hit an extreme purple patch for almost 15-16 years between 1973-88.
The Innings is interesting for the amount of movies done and the success rate achieved.Infact of the 63 movies Bachchan did in that period only 7 movies faced monetary losses of any kinds, thus a loss making movie used to an Event for Amitabh Bachchan.
Also, Amitabh Bachchan had atleast 1 hit a year for 14 straight years(1973-86).
Take a look.

For Fairness purpose its important to highlight the not so successfull periods of Bachchan’s Career.
1969-72
This Period is the start of the Career of Big B, he mostly struggled around for few years before breaking big time in Zanjeer. The notable movies of this time are Saat Hindustani, Anand and Bombay to Goa.
1 Saat Hindustani 1969 – Flop 2 Anand 1970 – AA 3 Reshma Aur Shera 1971 – Flop 4 Pyar Ki Kahani 1971 – Flop 5 Parwana 1971 – Flop 6 Bombay To Goa 1971 – BB 7 Bansi Birju 1972 – Flop 8 Ek Nazar 1972 – Flop 9 Sanjog 1972 – Flop 10 Raaste Ka Pathar 1972 – Flop
1989-92
This Period Signifies the return of Big B from the political Arena back to movie business, again here he didnt find the same success as he did in this prime. Notable movies are Agneepath,Hum and Aaj Ka Arjun.
1 Toofan 1989 – B 2 Jaadugar 1989 – Flop 3 Main Azaad Hoon 1989 – Flop 4 Agneepath 1990 – B 5 Aaj Ka Arjun 1990 7,00,00,000 AA* 6 Hum 1991 8,00,00,000 AA* 7 Ajooba 1991 – Flop 8 Indrajeet 1991 – Flop 9 Akayla 1991 – Flop 10 Khuda Gawah 1992 – B 11 Insaaniyat 1994 – B Since 1997 Amitabh Bachchan has starred and been successfull in uncountable number of movies, though most have been in character role capacity thus cant be counted(in this context that is), though he has again had Pivotal roles in movies like Paa,Black,Cheeni Kum and Khakee but such movies wont be 10% of his movies since 2000 and definitely dont echo back at the glorious run of 1973-88. Regarding genocide
It seems to me that the section meets WP:V, although its neutrality could be improved with some reference to his response, if he has made one. Misplaced Pages is not censored is also a guideline that seems to support keeping it in. Are there Misplaced Pages policies that would support removing it that I'm not familiar with? Remember, while we seek consensus on how Misplaced Pages policy applies to articles, that's based in policy- editors whose reasoning isn't based in policy aren't given as much weight in a disagreement, since Misplaced Pages is not a democracy. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 15:20, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- A second look at the source, though, seems to indicate that he's been charged, but not yet proven guilty. Wouldn't it be better to wait until after he is tried? -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 15:20, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- First of all, I can't see the notability of the case and how it stands in an encyclopedia article about Bachchan. He has been part of many controversies. Secondly, until it is written well, in a comprehensive and clear way, and supported by reliable source (one of the sources is unreliable), this info is cannot remain here. Also good to note that this user has violated WP:3RR. And I agree it's better to wait until he is tried. Shahid • 15:28, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Mr. Babu Mann, it seems, is hell bent on including a genocide section in the article. He has cited two sources - IBN and IndiaInfo. Let's see what these say. IBNlive site says, "Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, senior Congress leaders and police officials figure in a list of 200 persons against whom Sikh organizations will file a fresh petition in the Supreme Court, seeking action against them for their role in anti-Sikh riots in Delhi in 1984." Have they filed a case? The law of natural justice states that any person accused of any crime has to be treated as not guilty until found so. So, even if these organisations file a case against Mr. Bachchan, until and unless he is proven guilty, he cannot be implicated for the 1984 genocide of sikhs.
- The citing of Indiainfo.com news titled "Big B splits Sikh outfits into two" is even more dubious. Please refer to this from Times of India, which is a reliable source, on the same issue and you will come to know the truth.
- Now please refer to the fact that the All India Sikh Students Federation actually created these charges which can be seen here. The article starts with "The All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) claims to have produced a documentary “November 1984– a state sponsored Sikh massacre” charging Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan with inciting people to kill Sikhs after the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi". And the article ends with, "The documentary, however, does not have any clipping of Bachchan making any such statement of which he is being accused." So, Mr. Mann, where does the case stand? Please refrain from (re-)introducing highly POV materials to Misplaced Pages. In case, you do not relent, my earlier statement, left in your talk page still stands. Oh, by the way, as you have tried to project, I am not a guy who would say that in 1984 the Sikhs were not butchered by mobs led by Congress stalwarts like Jagdish Tytler & Sajjan Kumar. Why don't you use your energies to drag the real culprits to the dock? Thanks. Shovon (talk) 17:30, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Inconsistency
- Amitabh Bachchan (Hindi: अमिताभ बच्चन IPA: , born Amitabh Harivansh Bachchan…
- And then, Bachchan was initially named Inquilab, inspired from the phrase Inquilab Zindabad, during the Indian independence struggle, but was re-christened Amitabh which means, "the light that would never go off." Though his surname was Shrivastava, his father had adopted the pen-name Bachchan, under which he published all his works. It is with this last name that Amitabh debuted in films, and, for all public purposes, it has become the surname of all members of his current family. There appears to be an inconsistency here. - Quite amusingly, the above editor/IP keep ignoring any messages and keep repeating "no one is discussion. So I'll be clear once more. The article is not large enough to be split. At 43K, one can argue that it's not large enough. Also, a split of a section can occur when there is too much content in that section to provide a summary view. It's not the case here. Finally creating an article to just list controversies, fails WP:POVFORK and that's all the more important for BLPs. So net effect, splitting this is unnecessary and clearly not per our guidelines. -SpacemanSpiff 13:25, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Please change the location Allahabad, United Province, Indian Empire to Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Mentioning Allahabad to be a part of Indian Empire (British Raj) would have been applicable if we were living before in pre-1947 times. In current times, Allahabad is a part of India.

Correct the number of National Awards he has own: Not three but Four
Wiki has wrongly written that Mr. Bachchan has got 3 National Film Awards. He has won 4 National Film Awards. First one was for his debut "Saat Hindustani", second he won for Agnipath, third was for Black, and fourth one is for Paa. Also kindly remove descriptions like Filmfare awards from his main article as its a pretty private business award with no credibility and has been tainted long for being manipulated award. Though not correct over Mr. Bachchan, but it does not look good mentioning such private awards with prestigious national awards.
Also please remove the Raj Thackray section. Such sections don't even qualify to be discussed as it was entirely a matter of political mileage to gain popularity by Raj Thackray. Also in India, Raj Thackray does not hold any importance except for a confiscated region. This way one can then mention statements of any Tom Dick and Harry. Auxh sections only make your article politically influenced. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.212.45.114 (talk) 18:18, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
Grammar mistake in Amitabh's wiki page. Shameful.
Please correct the grammar mistake in the line "Bachchan didn't took any remuneration to do this film". Should be didn't *take*. Bharat Bhushan Who is the hero
In my opinion the best hero in my life is bollywood actor"Amitabh Bachchan". My favorite and world's greatest star Amitabh Bachchan is the prodigious son of the great hindi poet Harivanch Rai Bachchan. Amitabh was born on 11th october, 1942 at allahabad in india. He is married to Jaya Bhaduri,a talented actress herself. It was love at first sight for Amitabh as Jaya became his spouse and the famouse guddi girl transformed into Mrs. Bachchan. One of their children Abhishek has recently followed the footsteps of his parents and entered the film industry. Only time will tell whether he will measure up to his father's success. Amitabh the six feet tall man from the indian state of Uttar Pradesh heralded the trend of the angry young man in country's film industry. Director K.A Abbas launched him in the film 'Saat Hindustani' which went unnoticed. But luckily for him Prakesh Mehra sighed him for 'Zanjeer' which worked out extraor dinarily well for the young star and he never looked back. Big B has worked almost with all successful directors right from Hrishikesh Mukherjee to yash chopra to Mehul Kumar. The versatile actor fits in to every mould of acting be it a comic role or a serious one. He has also done the play back in many of his films. He is a house-hold name in the country, the people simply adore him. When Amitabh met with a serious accident on the sets of'coolie' the entire nation united in prayers for his speedy recovery. The prayers turned in to a blessing for the superhero, as he returned to the scene with double the impact. With an excellent career and great family life, Big B launched his company ABCL which is know as Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited which released many bfilms like Mani Ratnam's'Bombay' and Shekhar Kapoor's'Bandit Queen' and commercial film's like joy augustine's'Tere Mere Sapne' and Sachin's'Naam Kya Hai' which was produced under the same benner. Amitabh also utilized his singing skills in his albums'Fer Bhir Phatte' and 'Kabhi Kabhi'. Off late, Amitabh was busy in the of shooting of his immensely popular tele-quiz-show'Kaun Banega Crorepati' which also ensured success in his come back to movies and also in reviving ABCL which is started to come-up nsoon film projects. Before reappearing in the second stint of KBC or may be an entirely new game-shw, hopefully in aug-sept 2002 Amitabh will surely try to display his sparkle in few movies. This is a BLP article about an actor. This should be an encyclopedia article, NOT a newspaper or a magazine. Just random incidents when he was accused of something he eventually denied saying is not notable and definitely violates WP:UNDUE, and particularly so with when someone had accused him of something and there isn't even a response from Bachchan himself. This article is about Bachchan, not what others said about him. Please see WP:NPOV, WP:CRIT and the aforementioned links. Thank you. Shahid • 10:18, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
I agree with Shahid, this is not a gossip magazine. In fact the article is seriously at risk of degrading with such controversial mess. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:44, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
I think it's an overreaction to erase the accusations of endorsing Narendra Modi. It was covered in multiple newspapers over a period of time, and WP:NOT doesn't really apply as far as I could tell. Amitabh Bachchan is a popular actor who was accused by the press of supporting a mass murderer, the fact he responded publicly validates the importance of the issue to his image.--Profitoftruth85 (talk) 06:37, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

This article about an famous Indian actor, is not up to the encyclopedic standards . It seems he is left out from the league of best actors in the world. In the article page of Marlon Brando, the introductory paragraph has quotes from Jack Nicholson and Martin Scorsese which definitely are there to appraise him, similarly in articles of Anthony Hopkins ,Robert De Niro and Al Pacino has the phrase 'greatest actor' in their introductory paragraphs. The article needs to be cleaned-up and re-designed so it maintains the standrds and depicts the true value of the person ,as the page of Kamal Hassan, and Amitabh Bachchan has had some notable international achievements which should be included in the introductory paragraph, see the page of another indian actor Shahrukh Khan .
- MB and AH articles do say that, and back it up with 2-3 sources each, the others that you mentioned do not say that. You have to be careful to avoid WP:PEACOCK, but provided some reliable sources, it should be okay. BollyJeff || talk 16:15, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- He was voted by the online BBC poll as the greatest entertainer ahead of Marlon Brando , Charlie Chaplin and some other Hollywood greats. And the sources that you talk of in articles of Ah and Marlon Brando are either some articles or some polls. So there are many articles which talk of his stardom and acting abilities with some other world-renown actors.

Please add the following:
Amitabh Bachan was allegedly involved in inciting mobs to kill Sikhs during the Sikh Genocide of 1984 in New Delhi. On October 17th, 2011 a complained was filed against him with the public prosecutor's office in Australia to charge him with crimes against humanity pursuant to the Criminal Code of Australia. See the copy of the complaint here:

Panth Rattan (talk) 05:57, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
- The fact that the complaint exists is not sufficient to mention it, unless the incidence of the complaint has been reported in reliable sources (such as newspapers) - documenting this based upon the complaint itself would constitute original research on our part, unless others have reported it. Can you provide a link to show that it has been written about elsewhere? Chzz ► 08:38, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
The complaint is not citable based on WP:BLPPRIMARY, and even a secondary source would be insufficient at this point because it is simply an accusation by an organization. Declined--Bbb23 (talk) 15:47, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

Mentioning Caste
Dear Editors!
There has been a discussion on India Portal related to mentioning of caste of subjects. The point is that mentioning caste of people, who have nothing to do with their caste, is found to be unnecessary by few editors. Hence the caste of the subject person needs to be deleted from the biography. I am not deleting the caste as of now but am only posting this here so that the regular editors of this article are well aware of it beforehand and no edit-wars take place. For details of discussion held on the portal please refer Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics#Mentioning_caste_of_Individuals. Your views if any are welcome there or even here.
And.... as the reasons of exclusion of caste pointed out were "irrelavant to notability of subject person", "privacy of the subject person", "inclusion of caste is like branding individuals", etc. other information included in the article which also fall under these cases will also be removed after discussions. Examples of it included religion, non-notable spouse's and children's and parents' information, previous occupation, lived in places, non-notability related educational qualification, etc.
Your views on this are also welcome here or at the India portal. -Animeshkulkarni (talk) 17:55, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- It would be helpful if you identified specifically which material you want to remove from the article.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:00, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- As of now the deletion proposed is only for caste. So "Amitabh Bachchan hails from a Hindu Kayastha family" would be deleted. -Animeshkulkarni (talk) 18:53, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Not here, please. There is a community discussion taking place at WT:INB and I would advise people to read the entire discussion before forming an opinion because the above summary is incorrect. Nothing more need be said here. - Sitush (talk) 02:07, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Suggestions
I think as the article talks of him being labelled as the 'angry young man' and it got him the first break-through, it will be good to add an image to provide a visual impression of the topic. And i also suggest to add a new section titled 'in popular culture' or, 'in popular media' or 'cultural impact' as he is one of the most important and influential figures in modern-day arts of India.|BINEET| 21:25, 19 January 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bineetojha (talk • contribs)
Amitabh Bachchan was born Amitabh Shrivastav, not Amitabh Harivanshrai Bachchan
First, Kayastha never use father's middle name. Neither do Sikhs. Kayastha may use Prasad, Kumar, Rai, Raj, Chandra or no middle name (most often) at all. No Kayastha has ever used father's first name as his/her middle name.
Second, Bachchan was a title adopted by Harivansh Rai Shrivastav when he was doing his Phd in Cambrdige, at a time when Amitabh Shrivastav was in his early teens. Thus, in no way Amitabh could be born with a title "Bachchan" that he would adopt a decade later.
It is time the correct birth name is displayed. Just becaue many Indians use father's first name as middle name does not mean everyone follows the same. Giving the last name that his father didn't even have when Amitabh was born is rather absurd.
____________
rom 1941 to 1952 he taught in the English Department at the Allahabad University and after that he spent the next two years at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, Cambridge University doing his doctoral thesis on W.B. Yeats. It was then, that he used ‘Bachchan’ as his last name instead of Srivastava. Harivanshrai’s thesis got him his PhD at Cambridge. http://en.wikipedia.org/Harivansh_Rai_Bachchan — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.24.19.52 (talk) 06:11, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Assessment
The article of Amitabh Bachchan, is listed as a Low-Importance article at WP:ACTOR, and the criteria for listing an article as Low Importance , is, as mentioned on ], 'Actors and filmmakers of little interest to non-film buffs and the film industry.' On the contrary, the lead section of this article, says that he is one of the most influential and important actors of the Indian Film Industry. Is it fair ? So i call for a reassessment. This is a high-traffic article and has a fair few watchers. I am somewhat bemused that it has suddenly attracted a large number of significant edits without any query here. To my mind, a lot of the edits in question use poor sources, are trivial in detail, are sometimes speculative and are far from neutral. In addition, they are causing issues due to poor citation style, a failure to appreciate WP:CITEKILL and some general carelessness. I am tempted to revert the lot pending some sort of visible consensus but have hung off doing so on the grounds that the lack of comment here could indicate a passive consensus. Thoughts? - Sitush (talk) 08:07, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
- All attempts to glorify! Have removed some now. Although boxofficeindia.com is a reliable source for box office collections of Bollywood films, it's Heroism rankings are not worth. The article is filled with more such glitter that needs to be cleaned. But i don't have time now. Should we ask regular editors of WP:INCINE to take up a cleaning task of this article? Recent reverts by me
I have reverted this contribution twice in the last few minutes. It rings a bell and may thus have been removed in the past. Regardless, I am concerned about WP:BLPand due weight and have asked the contributor to have a chat about it here before reinstating. Box office
Where are we getting all of the repetitive "it was an average success", "it was a box-office hit" etc from? Who is defining "average" or "hit". In most cases, it does not seem to be the sources. - Sitush (talk) 18:27, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
- Usually the rankings come from BoxOfficeIndia, see the "Verdict" column here for example. Sources should be added. Anti-Sikh Riots
I see that the links/description added by me has been removed again. At the outset I would like to mention that the purpose of the content is not to malign but to bring forth to the general public facts which ascribe to the life of Mr. Bachchan. He is on record clarifying his position on the matter said and the information is a very important fact of his personal life. I believe hiding this fact from the general public, ostensibly due to the information "not being new" is not in good taste. His alleged involvement in a matter as serious as instigation of riots deserves mention on his public profile and if subsequently exonerated, can also be mentioned. The general public needs to be informed of all aspects pertaining to Mr Bachchans life. Not just those which sing paeans about his stature. This is a user contributed and moderated community and needs the support of all members..
Please find the original text I had published as follows:
Amitabh Bachchan was in the news in 2011 for the wrong reasons. He was accused by certain members of the Sikh community of instigating attacks on Sikhs during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The attacks followed the assassination of Indira Gandhi post Operation Blue Star.
He is alleged to have made polemic remarks saying “Khoon ka Badla Khoon se lenge” ( “Blood for Blood”) . Several eyewitness have claimed that he made such remarks and wrote to the Akal Takht asking for action against Mr. Bachchan.
Responding to the allegations, Mr Bachchan is said to have written to the Akal Takht , which is the highest temporal body of the Sikhs, pleading his innocence. The Akal Takht has not taken a decision yet exonerating Mr Bachchan of the charges.
Following the controversy, few members of the Sikh community protested by chanting slogans against Mr Bachchan as he carried the Olympic torch during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Proposing new image
I do propose following new image for article infobox.
- If users prefer black and white image, I will upload black and white version of this image. Thanks! neo (talk) 20:13, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- I really like the one that's there now. It's a professional picture; very clear. Yours is dark and the wrong shape. Maybe you could fix yours up a bit, but the one that's there now is clearly superior, if a couple years old. He looks about the same. BollyJeff | talk 20:16, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- He is also facing the "wrong way". We prefer such infobox images to face into the page, not away from it. I think you may find some info about this at MOS:IMAGES - it is certainly documented somewhere. - Sitush (talk) 20:30, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- I've just removed the picture again, this time from within the body text. We do not need multiple images of him that are taken a mere few years apart. Now, if we could find a decent image from, say, the 1970s or 1980s then that would be worthy of inclusion somewhere in the body. - Sitush (talk) 16:31, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

- Only u seems to have problem. U will not try to get image from 70 or 80s and if someone inclue current image u will oppose it. Almost all articles include current images in infobox and body text. Almost impossible to get images existing before internet and OTRS stuff. Now I am going to link high quality image. Let other users decide. If one or two users try to exercise control on article I will take this issue to Admin board. neo (talk) 18:02, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- Well, it was not only me, was it? We have literally hundreds of thousands of articles with images dating from before the existence of the internet, so that particular argument carries no great weight. As a rule, we do not show multiple images of a person from around the same period. It is beginning to seem as if you dislike the existing photo of Bachchan, although you have claimed that he likes it - I'm not sure what is going on here, or why. - Sitush (talk) 18:08, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- If 'hundred of thousands' of articles have images dating back to internet then it must be easy to get old image of Amitabh. Why waste time? You really don't have any idea what is going on here or why. You contradict yourself. neo (talk) 18:52, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- I have not contradicted myself. I have not looked for older images because I have only limited access to Indian sources and because I'm neither terribly interested in cinema nor in images. You are beginning to veer towards making this personal - I strongly suggested that you do not. - Sitush (talk) 18:56, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- It is absolutely stupid on your part to come on my talk page and give me threat of blocking. I reverted just your 1 edit. Ever heard WP:3RR? Perhaps you panicked while reverting my edit second time, thought that you will get caught in 3RR and in panick attacked me to impress admins. Amitabh made comeback due to KBC. There is nothing wrong in giving KBC related image in that section. As you are not interested in cinema or images, in what capacity you are deciding content of this article? And what 'territory' you need on internet to get India related images? Please, let other users decide content of this article who are interested in cinema and images. You are sounding weird. neo (talk) 20:42, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- And you are sounding rude. Be careful. - Sitush (talk) 20:44, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- You say that you are not interested in cinema or images but still you are trying to decide content of this article. You gave me threat of blocking without any base. As per WP:CIV, your behaviour is incoherent. And you are trying to flame a user who is contributing to wikipedia. I once again state that you should allow interested users to decide content of this article. neo (talk) 21:13, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- I did not threaten you with anything. You added something, I reverted it and left a note here explaining why. You replied to that note and then reinstated, pretty much ignoring my response. Given your recent activity involving the same image for this article, that is a definition of edit warring, is contrary to WP:BRD and is despite comments made by another contributor in this thread who is interested in cinema etc. There are two versions of the edit warring template and I selected the "stronger" one - that may well have been a mistake because I thought you were more experienced with Misplaced Pages than appears to be the case. For that, I apologise but the net result is the same: please don't do it.
As for your comments concerning interested users, well, I'm afraid that you are missing the point: we can all edit Misplaced Pages provided that we stay within the bounds set by the community. You were pushing that to the limit and I was not. I have a considerable amount of experience in dealing with articles relating to Indian subjects and that I am not particularly interested in images or cinema is irrelevant. You may have noticed that this article is protected against direct contributions by certain types of contributor. It is protected for a reason and my interest in it long pre-dates yours. Now, can we please get back to discussing why it is you feel it necessary to include two images of this person that originate from around the same period and that fundamentally show the same thing, ie: a portrait picture. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 23:22, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hm, it seems likely that my selection of template was not amiss after all. I thought that you seemed more au fait than someone with 90-ish contributions. There is, however, no need for you to unwatch this article: if you choose to do so then that is your prerogative but I am merely interested in working out why this apparent desire to show alternate images of Bachchan from around the same period is such an issue for you. It may well be an issue for others also, you see. - Sitush (talk) 23:32, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
