Clitoridotomy also known as Hoodectomy is the surgical removal or splitting of the clitoral hood. The hood is either partially removed or split to allow the clitoris freedom to enlarge when you feel aroused.<ref>{{cite web|title=Clitoral Hoodectomy|url=http://www.gynaecologists.co.uk/clitoral_hoodectomy.html}}</ref> The procedure may be done with a laser. It believed to be an elective surgery intended to enhance the sexual sensitivity of the clitoris.<ref>{{cite web|title=Clitoral Hood Removal: New Ways of Heightening Arousal|url=http://www.vibereview.com/how_to/clitoral_hood_removal_new_ways_of_heightening_arousal}}</ref>

In Some Islamic Country, Clitoridotomy also known as Sunna Circumcision, it was reported would entail no more than a
small cut in the prepuce, the hood above a girl's clitoris. It
would remove no tissue and leave only a small scar <ref>{{cite web|title=Harborview debates issue of circumcision of Muslim girls|url=http://www.cirp.org/news/1996.09.13_SeattleTimes/}}</ref>.
