==License tagging for Image:Life 640x480.jpg== |
Thanks for uploading ]. Misplaced Pages gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Misplaced Pages, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an ] applied to the ] indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images. |

=="Promotional" Bootlegs== |
Hiya. Just to explain: when bootleg albums have "for promotional use" or something similar written on them, it doesn't actually mean anything. It's just a little legal get-out for the manufacturer. As bootlegs are released by people who don't own the copyright and have no right to make money from the material, there is a belief that stating it's "for promotional use only" will provide some sort of legal protection should the need ever arise. The idea is that if the manufacturer is accused of making money from the material, he can say "Aha! But I said it was for promotional use only! If people are selling it, it isn't my fault!". Whether that would stand up in court is debatable... Anyway, the point is, a bootleg is just a bootleg. Nothing promotional about them at all. Hence the deletion. ] 21:06, 26 May 2006 (UTC) |

Dude, PLEASE stop dumping that photo in the middle of the Cradle article. A) it's a crap picture. B) you haven't provided any info for it so Misplaced Pages will delete it in a week anyway (see above) and C) it's too big. Have you seen ANY other Wiki pages with a picture like that plastered across them? THREE seperate and unconnected users have removed it at different times - is that not giving you a hint? ] 17:19, 27 May 2006 (UTC) |
