You're relatively new here, so that's why I'm trying to point out some policies to you, like civility. Just calm down a bit. This isn't life or death. The calmer you are, the better off you'll be here. What tends to get people in trouble here is not what they say but how they say it. I have a long history with newsgroups, message boards, etc. Your tone seems to come from that kind of enviornment, which is fine. But here, it's just not tolerated. Being defensive and on the attack also doesn't serve you well here. You gotta get along with people here. If you don't feel like you can or if you don't want to, you shouldn't be here. It's as simple as that. No, I wasn't pulling status or showing off. It's more that you were making it sound like I was just throwing these policies out there for the heck of it. I wasn't. I'm trying to be as helpful as I can be to a relatively new user. Some people don't respect authority. Heck, I usually don't. But you know, I have alot of experience here and that's all I was trying to convey. --]] 07:53, 30 May 2006 (UTC) You're relatively new here, so that's why I'm trying to point out some policies to you, like civility. Welcome!

Hello, PennyGWoods, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! I am CTSWyneken. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Truce?

Thanks for discussing the issue of racism in cartoons at Talk:Friz Freleng. I apologize if I made any inflammatory comments. You seem to be assuming that I don't have a problem with racist cartoons when that was not at all the point I was arguing. I simply didn't feel that Freleng deserved to be singled out when 99% of directors at the time were making the same racist jokes in their material. You are right that an article on racism in cartoons in general is the place to expound upon this, not an article on an individual animator. I know we have Censored 11, but I'm not sure if there's anything yet on racism in animation. If there isn't, there should be. A good book to start from would be That's Enough, Folks: Black Images in Animated Cartoons, 1900-1960 by Henry T. Sampson.

Now, at the risk of coming off as if I'm chiding you (and I'm not), I ask that you please read Misplaced Pages:Assume good faith and Misplaced Pages:Civility. I think that we both broke these policies, and for my part, I apologize. I immediately branded you as a POV-pusher, you branded me a racist. Neither is true. Apologies again. — BrianSmithson 02:16, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

re: The golden age of hip hop

Don't let Wikistress get to you. One thing I had to learn is that Misplaced Pages (and the people who edit it ) are far from perfect, and, at time,s far from even being just "aight". We just have to let some things go. I'm a black music scholar, and I can tell you verifiably that the article needs to be, if not deleted, moved to a new name and de-POV'd, because there is more than one "golden age" in hip hop (depending, of course, on the faction being asked). --FuriousFreddy 02:32, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

P.S. I'm the person you'd want ot ask about racist cartoons and cartoons. I've learned first-hand that one of the most stressful things you can be is a black animator/animation historian. --FuriousFreddy 02:37, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
LOL! I got so caught up in being right that I lost my head for a minute. I forget that for a lot of people, all they have for their claims of professional writing IS Misplaced Pages, and they'll froth and snap over that crap like babies with their toys. Keeping the article just adds to the "Misplaced Pages is a joke" thing. Not my problem. PennyGWoods 04:08, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Hello

--Woohookitty 07:53, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
