== Re: multifactor authentication reverts ==
Please do not remove relevant sections from the multifactor authentication page. The virtual token section citations are relevant and the section does not refer to any specific product or vendor. The fact that some vendors now refer to their individual products as 'virtual token' does not make this spam, any more that many vendors refer to some products as 'soft tokens' or 'hardware tokens'. These terms refer to a type of multifactor authentication, not to a specific vendor or product. In the future, please discuss your proposed edits on a talk page before arbitrarily removing content. Thank you! ] (]) 16:29, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

=== The three-revert rule ===
{{shortcut|WP:3RR}}{{anchor|Application}}
Editors who engage in edit warring are liable to be ] from editing to prevent further disruption. While any edit warring may lead to sanctions, there is a ] called the '''three-revert rule''' ('''3RR'''), the violation of which often leads to a block. The three-revert rule states:
{{divbox|blue|radius=1em||An editor must not perform '''more than three reverts''' on a '''single page'''—whether involving the same or different material—within a '''24-hour period'''. An edit or a series of consecutive edits that undoes other editors' actions—whether in whole or in part—counts as a revert. Violations of the rule normally attract blocks of at least 24 hours. Any appearance of gaming the system by reverting a fourth time just outside the 24-hour slot is likely to be treated as an edit-warring violation. '''See below for exemptions.'''}}
A "page" means any page on Misplaced Pages, including talk and project space. A "revert" means any edit (or administrative action) that reverses the actions of other editors, in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material.{{clarify|date=April 2013|reason=it should be made clear if an initial edit modifying a page (edited by the other person/persons) counts}} A series of consecutive saved revert edits by one user with no intervening edits by another user counts as one revert.
The three-revert rule applies per person, not per account; reverts made by ] operated by one editor count together. Editors violating 3RR will usually be blocked for 24 hours for a first incident. {{anchor|Not an entitlement|Is not an entitlement}} Even without a 3RR violation, an administrator may still act if they believe a user's behavior constitutes edit warring, and any user may ] with or without 3RR being breached. The rule is '''not an entitlement''' to revert a page a specific number of times.
If an editor violates 3RR by mistake, they should ] their own most recent reversion. Administrators may take this into account and decide not to block in such cases—for example if the user is not a habitual edit warrior and is genuinely trying to rectify their own mistake. |

Disambiguation link notification for July 2
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 21st Century Fox, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Multinational (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

DYK nomination of Chasing New Jersey
Hello! Your submission of Chasing New Jersey at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. - Please revisit this as soon as you can: the nomination needs a hook that works if it is to proceed. Thanks! BlueMoonset (talk) 15:52, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
Edit summaries
Hi! :) Thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages.
Please make sure to include an edit summary with every single edit. The summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Yes, I know that writing edit summaries is annoying; but that's nothing compared to the annoyingness of reading article histories when some edit summaries are missing. :) For many non-controversial edits, a very-simple edit summary like "+." or "Copyediting." is all you need to provide. And you don't have to come up with a new edit summary for every single edit: for example, if you do multiple edits which all just add text to an article you're writing, then you can use "+." for all of those edits.
By the way, IIRC if you don't provide an edit summary before clicking "Save page", then MediaWiki doesn't save the edit right away. Instead, it prompts you to provide an edit summary. Do you really click "Save page" twice for every edit simply in order to avoid having to write an edit summary?
If you reply to this message, please move it to my talk page, then reply there; I can do the same if I reply in turn. Thanks!

- Hi. I don't mean to be pest but I'd like to second this request. You are an awesome editor but this certain issue is a bit too visible when you massively change an article. Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 06:23, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
