WikiProject Islam
A place for editors working on Islam-related articles.
Mission
The mission of WikiProject Islam is to ensure that Islam related articles on Misplaced Pages are written in an encyclopedic style, in a neutral and non-sectarian manner, using verifiable and reliable scholarly sources.
Dos and Don'ts
As with any other Wikipedians, there are things which contributors to this project should and should not do:
DO:
- Identify gaps and material shortcomings in Misplaced Pages's current coverage of Islam-related topics.
- Discuss and debate how we might bring Misplaced Pages's Islam-related articles to academic standards of quality and citability.
- Make it clear in everything we say and do that members of all faiths and creeds are welcome.
DO NOT:
- Do not present Islam or Muslims generally as perennial victims in need defense. Islam is a subject which we are here to accurately document, not to attack or defend.
- Do not single out editors as promoters or enemies of Islam.
- Do not solicit votes, reverts or similar assistance, in any way that violates wikipedia guidelines or policies.
User pages
While Misplaced Pages allows us, within limit, to make personal sectarian and partisan statements on our user pages, it is better if we do not. If we wish others to assume our edits to be solely for the improvement of Misplaced Pages, we cast doubt upon this presumption by declaring preexisting allegiances in our userspace. Remember, Misplaced Pages is not a soapbox, and your user page is not an appropriate place for persuading other editors of the virtues of your way of life.
Manual of Style (Islam-related articles)
This page offers guidelines for style on Islam-related articles. Visit the talk page for current discussion.
