A Question

Hello Glaisher, my name is Howicus. Aplolgies if this is a bit forward, but what inspired you to edit Misplaced Pages? I'm asking because I've been noticing a lot of editors like you recently, who create accounts and then start reverting a ton of vandalism by IPs. I was just wondering if there was some reason behind it, or if I'm just seeing patterns that were always there. Keep up the vandal fighting! Howicus (talk) 16:51, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Adam Mansbach

i'm going to revert your reversion. adding an infobox and isbn numbers to list of works is quite constructive. if you could be more specific as to what you thought was unconstructive, then we might have something to talk about. 198.24.31.118 (talk) 17:40, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

If you won't stop this nonsense, you could get blocked. --Glaisher (talk) 06:45, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

I meant it sincerley, thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.30.233.218 (talk) 06:47, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

User pages are not used for test edits and is usually only edited by the user themself. If you were assuming good faith I'm sorry if I have been harsh. --Glaisher (talk) 06:50, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

Your request for rollback

Hi Glaisher. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Misplaced Pages:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! -- Mentifisto 00:20, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 14

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited YONAS (hip-hop artist), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pop (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:11, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Information icon Hi Glaisher. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for Ahmedabad Heart Hospital, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers and review the criteria for speedy deletion. Particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion, proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. I declined it because the basic information was there, though well concealed. I tidied the article, but have put a PROD on it. It may or may not be notable Fiddle Faddle 10:35, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Wow, that template looks heavy! Forts time I've used it! Fiddle Faddle 10:37, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
@User:Timtrent Meh. That wasn't me --Glaisher 10:38, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
That has happened to me before. I am 100% sure it wasn't my finger trouble, but a wikiglitch! ~embarrassing~ in a way. Feel free to delete this lot! Fiddle Faddle 10:40, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Now I am less certain. I was certain once of certainty, but that has certainly changed. Fiddle Faddle 10:45, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Reg: KnowYourStar article deletion! == ==Speedy deletion nomination of KnowYourStar

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on KnowYourStar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Anjali Reddy J (talk) 05:23, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello Glaisher,

This is the website created by a group of engineers which features the interviews of the well known people in different fields which inspires the youth today. I have provided the external reference links also. Could you please guide me if anything needs to be done.

Speedy deletion nomination of User talk:Ailsapan

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User talk:Ailsapan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Glaisher 09:42, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Your query as to whether my user page displays correctly now

YEEEESSSSSSSSSS! Thanks so much. (But how did you fix it?) Lawikitejana (talk) 12:59, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

As simple as that?! Wow. I'll have to look into that command/template when I'm not late for dinner at the folks' house. :) Thanks again! :) Lawikitejana (talk) 22:33, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

CSD declined

Hi. Thank you for your vigilance. However, I'm just letting you know that I have declined your CSD on User talk:Creosma. We do not generally delete user talk pages. It is sufficient to simply remove any vandalism or spam, and warn the user if appropriate. Thanks. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:52, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

@Kudpung. I remember tagging talk pages for deletion a lot and most of them are deleted . At least you could have blocked the user per {{Uw-softerblock}} or {{Uw-uhblock}}. --Glaisher 06:27, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
Different admins have different ways of interpreting and/or implementing the policies and guidelines while some admins (regrettably) may not even be aware of all the 100s of guidelines and pmolicies. I cite a policy or a guideline when I do an action, give advice, or warn. Some admins are quicker than others on the block button - that's their freedom of choice, nothing here is graven in stone. I have that user on my watchlist and you can rest assured that if s/he breaches a policy again, I will most certainly take what I consider to be appropriate action. When you have gained a little more experience, you will appreciate these things. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:44, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
True. Different admins have different ways of interpreting or implementing policies. I don't mind about that. --Glaisher 06:50, 31 August 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: User:AlexanderBull

Hello Glaisher, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:AlexanderBull, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: It's just a new editor saying who they are. Delete the blog post link if you want, but if you do, say why you did it. . You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 13:15, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi Shirt58, that account is an account used by a cross-wiki spambot. See m:NTSAMR. In fact, the account has been globally locked already. Special:CentralAuth/AlexanderBull. Regards, --Glaisher 15:41, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
Hi again. My apologies - obvious mistake, completely my fault. Thank you for letting me know - I'll be more careful in future! Pete aka --Shirt58 (talk) 11:11, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Niamh baker

Hello Glaisher, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted Niamh baker, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Coffee // have a cup // essay // 12:31, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Information icon Please refrain from abusing warning or blocking templates, as you did to User talk:Banaster Giver Extra Polite. Doing so is a violation of Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Please use the user warnings sandbox for any tests you may want to do, or take a look at our introduction page to learn more about contributing to the encyclopedia.
