Your reversion of my edit
Moved to Talk:List of dignitaries at the memorial service of Nelson Mandela Discussion moved to a more appropriate place. HelenOnline 07:40, 17 December 2013 (UTC)The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The article is entitled List of dignitaries at the memorial service of Nelson Mandela, not List of pictures of Barack Obama at the memorial service of Nelson Mandela. My reversion is valid. NorthernThunder (talk) 20:43, 16 December 2013 (UTC)
- Have you found (or looked for) any other relevant free images? Instead of removing all the images, please try to find some others and swap them out. I will look again when I have the time but I could use some help. HelenOnline 07:28, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
DYK for National Forensic DNA Database of South Africa
On 18 December 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article National Forensic DNA Database of South Africa, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that, as in Brazil, families of crime victims in South Africa have successfully campaigned for the establishment of a national forensic DNA database? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/National Forensic DNA Database of South Africa. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge
Moved to Talk:Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge Discussion moved to a more appropriate place. HelenOnline 14:03, 18 December 2013 (UTC)The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
Please explain to me why it is incorrect to list Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge as "Princess William" and why it is acceptable to list Sophie, Countess of Wessex as "The Princess Edward" or Katherine, Duchess of Kent as "Princess Edward" ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Claytnb (talk • contribs) 13:48, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
- I can't comment on the specifics of the other cases (as I have not been involved in those articles much if at all). It all depends on what the powers that be decide to use, and which is then included in reliable sources. Being a British princess by marriage or being eligible to be called "Princess William" does not mean that is what will be used in practice. Official primary sources and reliable secondary sources do not refer to Catherine as "Princess William". HelenOnline 13:56, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
A medley of peeress titles, and barons
Some items to squirrel away, in case they may come in useful. In connection with comments on "Baroness vs Lady Carrickfergus", it has occurred to me (sourcelessly) that, given the centuries old formula used in acts of parliament, be it enacted ... by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled..., "Commons" has there been gender inclusive from the first parliament (1918) in which a woman was an MP, namely, Nancy Astor, Viscountess Astor, wife of Waldorf Astor, 2nd Viscount Astor; and, likewise, 'Lords' from the appointments under the Life Peerages Act 1958, and including hereditary peeresses under the Peerage Act 1963. Also, Life peers are either barons (a title deprecated for British nobles which has been replaced with Lord for all but the most formal documents since the early medieval period) or Baronesses (where female); and The first woman peer to take her seat in the Lords was Baroness Swanborough (Dame Stella Isaacs, Marchioness of Reading), ahead of Baroness Wootton on 21 October 1958. . Disambig.: Baron of the Exchequer (all male!); disambig.: Exchequer Court of Canada]. --Qexigator (talk) 11:34, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

Reverted him. You didn't need to warn him by the way, he's been warned before. His edits are a violation of our NPOV policy. Heck, I think a lot of Christians aren't Christian, but I won't insist Misplaced Pages says that. Dougweller (talk) 14:27, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks Doug. He reverted again. Clearly he wants or needs to be blocked. Re the user warning, I now do that as soon as someone hits BRR to prepare myself for ANEW sooner rather than later. I am tired of wasting time on edit warriors. HelenOnline 14:44, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
- WP:AN3 report done. If someone has been warned before, you don't need to warn, just report them after 4RR. Although I guess if they've only been warned once and not blocked, a warning is good. Dougweller (talk) 15:08, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you HelenOnline 15:20, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
- You should look at the added warning the blocking Admin gave him on his talk page! Dougweller (talk) 19:07, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

DYK for Death and state funeral of Nelson Mandela
On 12 January 2014, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Death and state funeral of Nelson Mandela, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the sign language interpreter for the state memorial service of Nelson Mandela made meaningless hand gestures that did not reflect established signs? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

- I noticed. Is there a problem with my edit? HelenOnline 17:06, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Not with your edit. I wondered if it should it be there at all? Struck me as WP:OR or at least as a personal interpretation. Although it's not actually too bad... Fortuna 17:09, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
