Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. --Bongwarrior (talk) 02:52, 27 November 2013 (UTC) Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Matthew Brown may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. Edit semi-protected template

Please do not add the "Edit semi-protected" template to user pages, or to talk pages when the user page is not semi-protected. Adding the template achieves nothing, but creates unnecessary work, as it adds the page onto the list of genuine requests, which have to be checked out and cleared. Arjayay (talk) 15:26, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

Seconded. The semi-protected edit request template is for requesting edits to a semi-protected page. None of the pages that you added the template to are semi-protected, and all of your requests were blank. If you are trying to request page protection, please go to WP:RFPP. Disambiguation link notification for January 1

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Leah Betts, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Media (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Requesting protection

Hi AH999, I'm ElHef. I see that you've placed some protection templates on article pages (such as Amazon.com and Betty Driver that didn't quite belong there. For your reference, if you want to request protection for a page, the proper place is WP:Requests for page protection. Placing a protection template on the page itself doesn't do that and will be removed in short order (often automatically by a bot).

That being said, a page being vulnerable to vandalism isn't going to get a page protected. All pages on Misplaced Pages are vulnerable to vandalism - it comes with the fact that Misplaced Pages's open to editing by anyone. If there is ongoing, repeated vandalism to a page by multiple editors then page protection may be an option, at which point it can be reported to WP:RPP. --ElHef (Meep?) 17:04, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Semi protection

Three editors have explained to you, above, that adding the semi-protection template to an article achieves nothing, and asked you to stop. Despite three explanations, on 23 & 30 December and 1 January, you added yet another on 2 January, to Jack P. Shepherd. Unawareness of all the rules is inevitable for a new editor, but to continue to break the rules after three requests is likely to be considered as vandalism. Please stop this.
Please also stop adding the df=y parameter to the infoboxes of US actors, in contravention of WP:STRONGNAT.

Vandalism warning

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Misplaced Pages, as you did at Mars (chocolate bar), you may be blocked from editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arjayay (talkcontribs) 08:15, 9 January 2014‎

Disruptive editing takes many forms. Among your recent activity I have noticed: adding non-free images to articles for which there is no fair-use rationale, in contravention of WP:NFCC#10c - examples include Georgia May Foote and Paula Lane; adding flag icons to infoboxes, which goes against WP:INFOBOXFLAG; changing date formats to go against WP:STRONGNAT; adding {{good article}} to articles which have not passed a good article nomination; adding protection templates (such as {{Pp-move-indef}}, {{Pp-semi-indef}} and {{pp-semi-vandalism}}) to articles which are not protected (placing the template does not confer protection, only an administrator has that ability); adding {{Edit semi-protected}} to pages which are not talk pages. Please read the messages that other users have left, and heed their advice. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:57, 9 January 2014 (UTC)
Further examples: unexplained removal of reference at Jane Whiteside; improper use of both {{Edit semi-protected}} and {{pp-move|answered=no}} at Talk:Andrew Harrison; misuse of |thumb| for images within infoboxes (q.v. Thomas Rowlandson, Elisabeth Jungmann) - it's bad because it causes a triple frame - instead, captions should be specified using an appropriate parameter (for {{infobox person}}, that parameter is |caption=). --Redrose64 (talk) 23:58, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
