Corrections Corporation of America

I think you're absolutely correct. Your original post never should have been removed.

I think that CCA has paid minders watching and sanitizing the page, but I don't think COLLECT is one of them, since he's only posted one innocuous comment on the page before, going back 50 edits.

Thanks for your persistence. Activist (talk) 17:27, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Please note my comments on the CCA Talk page regarding the removals of the Sayre and Crowley incidents. Thanks much. Activist (talk) 12:07, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
A delayed reply, sorry, but I will check and thanks for the note, Activist! BlueSalix (talk) 06:11, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Nomination of Innocence of Muslims for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Innocence of Muslims is suitable for inclusion in Misplaced Pages according to Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Innocence of Muslims until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. KeptSouth (talk) 18:24, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

A page you started (Syrian Emergency Task Force) has been reviewed!

Thanks for creating Syrian Emergency Task Force, BlueSalix!

Misplaced Pages editor Mike1901 just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Beat me to creating this! Will help out where I can :-)

To reply, leave a comment on Mike1901's talk page.

Hey User:Mike1901, just a FYI, someone connected with the SETF has left a comment on the entry's talk page. I left a reply but I don't know if he's seen it. I just wanted to give you a heads-up in case you were still interested. (I've tried to look for RS to back-up his requests for correction but have been unable to find any so have kept the article as-is.) I believe this individual is the one who was previously blanking the page, though, I think he may just not have known better. BlueSalix (talk) 12:39, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 4

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ronan Farrow, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Donald Payne and Vanity Fair (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Talk:Bradley Manning/October 2013 move request

Greetings. Because you participated in the August 2013 move request regarding this subject, you may be interested in participating in the current discussion. This notice is provided pursuant to Misplaced Pages:Canvassing#Appropriate notification. Cheers! bd2412 T 21:30, 4 October 2013 (UTC)

We might have been editing at the same time

If I deleted an edit of yours in the process, it was inadvertent and I apologize. --Tenebrae (talk) 20:24, 6 October 2013 (UTC)

Please take down my quotes

As a courtesy, we don't edit other editors' user pages. By the same token, editors do not take our comments without asking and place them on their user page out of context in order to mislead other editors. Take me off your page immediately or I'm speaking to an admin. Incidentally, we're allowed to remove contentious personal content ourselves, but I'm giving you the opportunity to do so first.--Tenebrae (talk) 14:37, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Content posted by another editor is publicly viewable by all editors. Quotes by Tenebrae already exist in the public Wikispace, I only aggregated information that exists elsewhere and can be read by anyone. I dispute I took it out of context and even did the courtesy of linking directly to it so anyone can read the exact context. I posted your publicly stated quotes because I enjoyed them and believe the juxtaposition (1) adds levity to my user page, and, (2) enforces the idea that no editor (specifically me) is perfect; it was self-deprecating at my expense. It was not done to embarrass or offend you.
The link you provided pertains to Talk pages, not User pages so I will ask you respect my Userspace and make the choice not to edit it. If you feel my incorporation of copyright-free, public Wikispace content (writings of Wiki-ID Tenebrae) in my User page is a violation of guidelines, you should feel empowered to bring it to the attention of an admin. I kindly ask you not post to my Talk page other than required notifications. In a recent RfC you engaged in a protracted string of name calling, denouncing me as an "extremist," a "liar," a "single purpose account," a "little kid", have summarized my posts as "la la la", and I do not wish to bring this kind of aggression into my userspace. It is not the type of lifestyle I choose to lead. Thank you, in advance, for respecting my wishes. BlueSalix (talk) 19:14, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
Having said all that, it is not my intention to embarrass you, and if you did not take my in-context use of your content in the light-hearted manner in which it was intended I will, of course, remove it. BlueSalix (talk) 19:14, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
It is not "in context" when the quotes refer to two different things. Don't be disingenuous. --Tenebrae (talk) 19:39, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
Hi, Tenebrae. I apologize if I misspoke. Both quotes were self-standing, without context; they were neither in, nor out, of context on their own - that is why I posted hyperlinks to the original content. Again, I have apologized you were offended and stated it was not my intention to offend and I posted them only in lighthearted goodwill. The quotes have been removed as you demanded. I really don't know what else you want me to do. BlueSalix (talk) 19:58, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
I've already linked to the policy — headlined "Editing of other editors' user and user talk pages" — that says we can remove contentious personal content, such as your out-of-context mischaracterization of me on your User page. Since you've been back on Misplaced Pages this afternoon and posting at Talk:Ronan Farrow, that means you had a chance to remove your deliberately misleading, out-of-context blurbs on your user page, which was a personal attack in an attempt to make me look like I have two different opinions about the same thing, when you know well I was speaking of two different things.
Any more such personal attacks, any more putting my name on your User page in an attempt at ridicule, and I'm asking for an admin to block you from editing. --Tenebrae (talk) 19:17, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
Hi, Tenebrae - you posted this before I was able to complete my comment. Sorry if we crossed paths. Also, please do not make threats against me. Thank you. BlueSalix (talk) 19:20, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Rob McKenna - candidate for governor.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Rob McKenna - candidate for governor.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Misplaced Pages:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Misplaced Pages's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:35, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi Sfan00 IMG - it looks like I used the wrong license. It is, in fact, CC BY-NC-SA 2.0 (see here). Can you update that for me? Thanks! BlueSalix (talk) 22:24, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages can't accept NC images. You couldn't ask the campaign for a CC-BY-SA image?Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:47, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
Apologies, that makes sense - my mistake. I don't have any contact with the campaign, this is just a subject of interest to me. I'll look for an appropriately licensed image. Thanks for your direction and guidance, Sfan00 IMG! BlueSalix (talk) 12:34, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

3RR

You went over WP:3RR at Ronan Farrow before I had a chance to warn you, though from your edit summaries you appear to have been aware. I began a discussion on the talk page about your edits, in which you did not participate before your fourth reversion, and you did not initiate discussion with IP editor 108 on the talk page at any time. You accuse 108 of being a sockpuppet, but that is not one of the IPs at the relevant SPI, as I noted in my talk-page post. --Tenebrae (talk) 15:33, 15 January 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, BlueSalix. We welcome your contributions to Misplaced Pages, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Brooklyn Bridge, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Misplaced Pages article or website of your organization in other articles (see Misplaced Pages:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Misplaced Pages's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Misplaced Pages when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Hertz1888 (talk) 18:41, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

Moving comments

Please stop your disruptive editing. Your edits have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Misplaced Pages's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Misplaced Pages's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in your being blocked from editing. Stop moving talkpage comments Murry1975 (talk) 17:39, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
