Charles John "Chuck" Klosterman is an American pop-culture journalist, critic, and essayist. He was born on June 5, 1972 in Wilkin County, Minnesota and raised on a farm near Wyndmere, North Dakota.
Klosterman is the author of three non-fiction books: a humorous memoir/history on the phenomenon of hair metal, entitled Fargo Rock City; a best-selling collection of pop culture essays, entitled Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs: A Low Culture Manifesto; and Killing Yourself to Live: 85% of a True Story, a road narrative focused on the relationship between rock music, mortality, and romantic love. Klosterman's fourth book, Chuck Klosterman IV: A Decade of Curious People and Dangerous Ideas, is set to be released in August 2006.
