In 2004, Medico Friends Circle, an organisation of medical practitioners, filed a complaint against Dr. Togadia with ]. Organisation said in its complaint that Dr Togadia was carrying on a campaign of calumny and hatred against a particular community of the country and the derogatory and abusive words he was using render him unfit to be a doctor. They claimed that Dr. Togadia clearly violated Article 1.11 of Medical Council.<ref name="milli" />

Pravin Togadia is an Indian doctor and advocate for Hindu nationalism. He is the International Working President of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP). He is a cancer surgeon by qualification.

Personal life

Pravin Togadia got a bachelor's degree (MBBS) in medicine followed by a master's degree (MS) in surgical oncology. He practised as a surgeon for fourteen years, and established a small hospital, Dhanvantri Hospital, in Ahmedabad. He gave up active practice to get involved in full-time activism.

Praveen Togadia was arrested in April 2003 after distributing tridents to Bajrang Dal activists in Ajmer defying ban and prohibitory orders.

In 2008, his party had donated Rs. 10 lakh to the families that were effected after 2008 Bihar flood. On August 2013, he has stated that VHP members will campaign towards ending discrimination in India. Praveen Togadia was arrested in August 2013 from Ayodhya along with other VHP leaders by the Uttar Pradesh Police before the planned 'Chaurasi Kosi Parikrama Yatra' that was banned over fears of communal flareup.

In April 2014, an FIR was registered against Togadia in Bhavnagar after an alleged hate speech about Muslim communities.
