The division has provides services in passenger and cargo transport. Guntakal Railway Division is one of the six divisions of South Central Railway zone (SCR) of the Indian Railways. The headquarters of the division is at Guntakal and its zonal headquarters is at Secunderabad.
History
Guntakal division was formed in the year 1956, it was under Southern Railway zone. Later, on 2 October 1977, it was transferred to South Central Railway zone.
Routes
Guntakal division is first in terms of route 1307.07 km and second highest division in terms of track 1872.47 km in South Central Railway. During 2010-11, it has been declared as total Broad gauge after the Pakala–Dharmavaram line completion. It covers the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
