Freqently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Why have you reduced the size of my file? A: In accordance with Misplaced Pages:Non-free content criteria 3(b): An entire work is not used if a portion will suffice. Low, rather than high-resolution/fidelity/bit rate, is used (especially where the original could be used for deliberate copyright infringement). If you believe I have made an error in reducing the image, please let me know. If there was no error is the lowering in the resolution, please keep the image reduced and keep it tagged until an administrator has deleted the larger versions of the image.
Q: Why have you tagged my file as {{di-bad fair use}} 10(c)? A: I have tagged it as in violation of Misplaced Pages:Non-free content criteria 10(c): The name of each article (a link to each article is also recommended) in which fair use is claimed for the item, and a separate, specific non-free use rationale for each use of the item, as explained at Misplaced Pages:Non-free use rationale guideline. The rationale is presented in clear, plain language and is relevant to each use. Meaning, provide a fair use rationale on the file description page, every time you use it on a different article. Otherwise it does not meet criteria for inclusion and it can be nominated for deletion.
Q: Why have you removed my image from an article because of 10(c)? A: The file does not have a fair use rationale on the file description page for why it is on that article. If you add a rationale, you are free to use the image on the article once again.
Q: Why have you tagged my file as {{di-bad fair use}} 10(a)? A: I have tagged it as in violation of Misplaced Pages:Non-free content criteria 10(a): Identification of the source of the material, supplemented, where possible, with information about the artist, publisher and copyright holder; this is to help determine the material's potential market value. A source for where the image was taken from needs to be specified, otherwise it will be marked for deletion.
Q: Why have you added {{deletable image-caption}} to an article? A: This is to notify users that the image next to the caption is a candidate for speedy deletion in a number of days due to problems specified on the image description page.
Q: Couldn't you just fix this image problem yourself? A: While I tag and re-sizing images, I do keep a look-out for things I can fix, rather than tag it for fixing. There is somewhere near 340,000 non-free images on Misplaced Pages, so I can't do this alone.
Q: Are you an administrator? A: No, I am not an administrator here. I can not protect or delete pages, move over redirects, or block users. For a full list of privileges I have, and projects where I have them, see this page. Also, if you offer to nominate me for adminiship, I will probably decline. I have had a few nominations in the past, the last being in 2006. If I ever run again, it will be a long time from now.
Welcome to my talk page. Here are some tips to help you communicate with me:
Ideally, I would like to have any conversation continued on the page where it was started. If I have left a message on your talk page please do not reply here. I will have your talk page on watch and will note when you have replied.
Add or respond to an existing conversation under the existing heading.
Indent your comment when replying by using an appropriate number of colons ':'.
Create a new heading if the original conversation is archived.
Thank you for your vote in my RFA, which succeeded with a final tally of 66-0-4. If there's anything I can help you with now that I'm an admin, please let me know on my talk page. Again, thanks! Mangojuice21:40, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Issue with a wrestling promotion
Hey Moe. Haven't spoke in a while so I thought I'd bring this up with you. Total Wrestling Entertainment is the newest promotion to open in Australia. However, recently they have run into a bit of trouble with sponsors, events etc. (you know, the usual failing indy promotion story!). I have just noticed a lot of negative yet true information has been deleted from the article by User:Stevenpullen3156, who just happens to be one of the owners of the promotion (as it states in his user name). How should I handle this issue? I'm a little bit intimidated to leave a message on his talk page as he may let loose on Misplaced Pages for making the promotion look bad. I won't make any edit wars, but you, Moe, were the supporter of adminship of HRE. And you have removed my vote on the talkpage, which was against HRE's adminship.
You have removed the vote of someone who had opposite point of view. That's not fair.
"At this moment"? I don't think HRE is dead. Violation (hacking) of user accounts are things that happen. Some freak that hacked his account is laughing loudly now. The wiki-fishies have bitten the bait. Kubura09:55, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
List of Number of World Heavyweight Title Reigns page is a mess
well theres a big disscussion about who to call a World Champion, One User keeps on removing WWF (1970-Hogan), ECW (1993-1999) championship reigns from list citing they aren't recongnized world champs since WWF was in the NWA, and PWI doesn't recongnized ECW champs before 1999, I just want to get a consences on this before it turns to a revert war

Response to editing
Hello,
You certainly should not find the editing of TWE’s wikipedia page intimidating. I certainly welcome your edits and thank you for taking the time to constantly update our page.
However, I am not comfortable with the posting of information, be true or not, which is not intended for the public.
I certainly hope you can understand my comments from my perspective.
I appreciate your concern with NPA and NPOV you expressed with regards to my RFA. I can assure you that I take these matters very seriously. The evidence is in my contributions. It took me quite a while to truly understand the intricasies of these ideas (maybe more than a year) but I think I've really developed a good appreciation for them. --ScienceApologist16:50, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the kind words and advice. I don't anticipate my feelings will be hurt if I don't get administrator tools. I understand that a lot of people view this process as a "status" thing, but I can't help but feel that this is entirely too silly. I really just want to be able to fight vandalism more easily, speedy delete nonsense that I come across, and help out in some of the tasks that are difficult to do as a user but a breeze to do as an admin. So if people decide that I'm a "risk" when I want to help them out, it's the community's loss, no? Besides, we're totally transparent here. Every one of my contributions is visible for someone to sort through and see what I'm like. --ScienceApologist17:15, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Happy First Edit Day! Hi Moe Epsilon! On behalf of the Birthday Committee, I'd like to wish you a very happy anniversary of the day you made your first edit and became a Wikipedian! ~~~~
Yes indeed, we will conveniently forget that you have been editing for 20 months and instead celebrate your first anniversary of editing ;). Happy first edit day! NoSeptember 14:32, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
