The Greater and Lesser Tunbs, and Abu Musa

The Greater and Lesser Tunbs (Arabic:طنب الكبرى وطنب الصغرى) (in Persian:تنب بزرگ و تنب کوچک) (tunb is Persian for "hilly place" or Arabic for "tent rope") are two islands in the eastern Arabian Gulf.

These and the island of Abu Musa are Emirati islands occupied by Iranians in 1971. They are now administered as part of the province of Hormozgan (Iran).

The surface of the Greater Tunb is 10.3 km² and the lesser Tunb 2 km².

There is a red soil mine active on the Greater Tunb Island.
