DYK for Charb
On 4 February 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Charb, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the French satirical cartoonist Charb (pictured), a victim of the Charlie Hebdo shooting in Paris in January, had been on Al-Qaeda's "most wanted list" since 2013? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Charb. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Adam Blitz
Adam Blitz (talk) 01:20, 12 February 2015 (UTC)Sir, I have tried to explain to the various users my rationale for the edits I have proposed re: Charlie Hebdo Shooting article. I am not very familiar with editing on Misplaced Pages. I have since suggested that the subsection: "Aftermath" read, "Aftermath:Fontenay aux Roses & Montrouge Shooting, Dammartin en Goele and Porte de Vincennes Hypercacher Supermarket.
These are purely the facts and it directs the reader's attention to what should, but does not, appear in an introduction. Perhaps you would be kind enough to advise. Thanks AB
- I've added two sentences to the Dammartin-en-Goële hostage crisis section that use references already accepted in Porte de Vincennes hostage crisis. If you want a general introduction to Misplaced Pages's policies, look at Five Pillars, and what makes up a reliable source. As a general rule, if you can get a citation from or they tend to be the most widely accepted as neutral and authoritative, while opinion pieces are almost never used as sources. Curly Turkey has put work into making suggestions on the shooting talk page. -- Aronzak (talk) 11:11, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
No problem
Hello, no problem. I'll be watching the article. However, I notice there is so many reverts this days, probably it needs a semi-protection. Send you a hug天使 BlackBeast Do you need someting? 00:36, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
- It's fairly obvious sockpuppetry or canvassing - if IP users with no other edits or redlink users keep removing content I'll ask for semi-protection. Cheers for the hug @BlackBeast: :) -- Aronzak (talk) 01:56, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
- True. Let me see spanish article :)天使 BlackBeast Do you need someting? 02:50, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
Ways to improve Family Tracing and Reunification
Hi, I'm Oiyarbepsy. Aronzak, thanks for creating Family Tracing and Reunification!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Thank you.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 05:38, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
Ed Lyon
Hi! I was wondering if you deleted my article on Ed Lyon. If you did, would you kindly tell me why? I believe I followed all of Misplaced Pages's guidelines and see no reason for the deletion of the article. Thanks.Bartolomeorastrelli (talk) 19:29, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
Hello again - thanks so much for restoring the article and explaining to me about biographies. I had no idea that self-published sources were not appropriate, but, thinking about it, it does make sense. I saw what you posted on Tokyogirl79's page and want to say thank you for it. I am indeed an inexperienced editor; I'm just someone who is passionate about music and singing. I had felt rather rebuffed by the Misplaced Pages editors I had encountered, but you have restored my faith! Many thanks! Bartolomeorastrelli (talk) 19:21, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
- That's ok, @Bartolomeorastrelli: editors can be rather brusque when they think that people are putting in spam or marketing materials, because they deal with lots of new articles like that all the time. If you want to create a new article in future, make sure you go to Google News to find at least three or four sources that cover the subject from an independent, professional journalistic standpoint. -- Aronzak (talk) 19:33, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
License tagging for File:Avijit Roy.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Avijit Roy.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Misplaced Pages uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Misplaced Pages. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 04:05, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

Aronzakcommons, just in case it's not you. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 04:09, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Anna Frodesiak: that's me. Feel free to delete the account if you want to, I wanted to upload an image but realised it's non-free.-- Aronzak (talk) 04:11, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- I can't delete the account. You can just redirect it here if you like, or keep it to use in case you are not on a safe computer, or just abandon it. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:21, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
Draft:Computer Science and Telecommunications Engineering
The AfD discussion you initiated at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Draft:Computer Science and Telecommunications Engineering was in an incorrect forum. I have closed that and created a new discussion per your nomination rationale at the proper forum, located at Misplaced Pages:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Computer Science and Telecommunications Engineering.
