Kevin Jarman
Hi Ahecht,
Hope you're well. Kevin Jarman did don a Columbus Blue Jackets jersey and play. Please, allow me time to find a sufficient reference.
Thanks so much!
Sorry Ahecht, should have included this in my original message, Kevin played games for Columbus while attending their main camp in September 2007. I'll work on getting proper references.
Thanks again Ahecht! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.15.52.96 (talk) 23:34, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
- @74.15.52.96: Just donning the jersey isn't enough, unfortunately, for WP:NHOCKEY. He never played in an official NHL-sanctioned game, just in their training camp. Even his profile at NHL.com (http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8470696) doesn't show a single NHL game played. --Ahecht (TALK

Hi Ahecht,
I did, I watched him with my own two eyes, emergency call-up in March of 2008. I've reached out via email and asked him about this, he's unsure as to why its not documented on hockeydb or NHL.com, but he was aware that both bodies incorrectly documented this activity...
I'm currently working on resolving this, thanks Ahecht. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.15.52.96 (talk) 01:03, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
As I work on getting that reference,
He does satisfy the following with the Ontario Junior Hockey League's Stouffville Spirit...
4. Achieved preeminent honors (all-time top ten career scorer, First Team All-Star, All-American) in a lower minor league, in a major junior league, or in a major collegiate hockey league (Note: merely playing in a major junior league or major collegiate hockey is not enough to satisfy inclusion requirements);
Ahecht,
NHL preseason games are NHL-sanctioned, while attending the Columbus Blue Jackets 2007 main camp he did participate in preseason games.
- @74.15.52.96: Preseason games aren't recorded as games played, and especially on Misplaced Pages the general outcome in a deletion discussion is not to include them. In any case, my talk page isn't the appropriate venue for this, and you should be presenting these arguments/evidence at the deletion discussion at Misplaced Pages:Articles_for_deletion/Kevin_Jarman. --Ahecht (TALK

Silent Teaching
Hi Ahecht,
I've recently been working on a page entitled Silent Teaching. My intention was not to write this in the first person but rather to build awareness through Misplaced Pages as to the extent of the uses of Silent Teaching, as I found there are pages attributed to silent teaching from other sources. I made valid attempt to relate to these sources through the piece submitted.
Are there any options or suggestions you may have? The only 'published' platform for the silent teaching work is via the Times Education Supplement website and through work with National Autism Society, together with published mentions of the work online.
Is there a way I could construct the writing in a way that may be better received via Misplaced Pages, as the piece is written to provide an account and an incite into silent teaching and not for the purpose of self-promotion. A number of colleagues were involved in assisting the original draft so I am exploring options if any are available.

- @SILENT TEACHING: Unfortunately, Misplaced Pages limits itself to subjects that have already received wide coverage from reliable sources. Per the policy at WP:NOTPROMOTION, Misplaced Pages shouldn't be used as a platform to build awareness, as its designed to only cover subjects that people are aware of. Furthermore, if you are providing an account and an insight into silent teaching that hasn't already been published then you fall afoul of Misplaced Pages's original research policy. If the accounts and insights into silent teaching receive significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article, then, and only then, you can use that information in a Misplaced Pages article. --Ahecht (TALK

Silent Teaching - Awareness/Independent and Reliable Sources
Hi Ahecht, Thank you. In response to your feedback:
1) People are aware of the subject of silent teaching and a number of these have downloaded silent teaching reports via the Times Education Supplement website 2)The account written mentions specifically work in the area of study via: See how this relates to earlier work by Caleb Gattegno who said: "Teachers should concentrate on how students learn, not on how to teach" - Caleb's work is already noted via Misplaced Pages and thus the subject is widely known 3)The work in silent teaching has received media coverage via The South Shields Gazette and this is independent coverage and a great number of additional publications have commented on the subject of silent teaching, also reliable and independent
What would be your guidance in developing a Misplaced Pages page on-going, if any? Could I cite some of these additional sources who have commented independently on the subject of Silent Teaching?
Kind regards Tor

Draft: Angel Musical Instrument Co., Ltd.
Hello, Ahecht.
Thank you so much for your reply and your clarification.
As you said, all the references for my article are from notable South Korean independent newspapers or media, so now I am more curious why the previous review declined to get the draft published.
You're very kind to allure Korean using editors to barge in to my draft. Is there any way I can do to get more Korean speaking editors to review my article? There is not enough newspaper article written in English either on the Internet or in books.
Thank you again!

Thoughtless edit summaries!!
Thanks for calling me out on that silly edit summary (the one on Aladdin) - the vandalism I was correcting WAS especially annoying (without going into the background), but of course that is no excuse whatever. I do try to remain civil at all times, if only because being rude is more often counterproductive than otherwise.
I'm afraid that I am messaging you here about a very much more serious instance of my doing exactly the same thing. Yesterday I had to remove vandalism from the Hiri trade cycle article. For cultural reasons (which again it would be tedious of me to go into) this vandalism was very obnoxious indeed (for a second or two I had a new understanding of the feelings of an aggrieved fundamentalist) and I posted an absolutely dreadful edit summary. Not in English, fortunately, but it will still be intelligible to some of the people likely to be especially interested in the article concerned. I won't translate it, but suffice to say that it is still really bothering me and I badly want to expunge it! Do you happen to know if this is possible, and if it is what I should do about it? Regards -Soundofmusicals (talk) 23:42, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Soundofmusicals: Thanks for the mea culpa. You can request the edit summary be revision deleted (see Misplaced Pages:Revision_deletion#How_to_request_Revision_Deletion), but I'm not sure if an administrator would revdel an edit summary for something like this (although it doesn't hurt to ask). --Ahecht (TALK

Hi, don't quite know what happened here. We appear to have edit conflicted. Bellerophon talk to me 21:18, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Bellerophon: Yup, you probably loaded the page before I moved it, so your cleanup restored the old version. I've had it happen a couple of times. --Ahecht (TALK
