:Sorry about that – I got your earlier pointer at my talk page. My point is that, despite not being allowed into the club, James Hird was still an employee at Essendon during that time, as opposed to Ross Lyon, who had no affiliation with Fremantle until he was appointed as senior coach there. There's a difference between the two instances – hopefully that makes more sense. 3RR
OK. So do I report it to 3RR and watch you get blocked. Or do we agree on some other approach? Pdfpdf (talk) 14:50, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- Or we work collaboratively, improve the article and not leave, or put back, unencyclopedic lines like "and many other interesting and informative facts." I get that you were grumpy with the tagger (who's a damn fine editor), but come on, read the article as it is now and forget about "your" original draft-like version. A barnstar for you!

thanks for your efforts on Australian football. My father, whose wiki biop you just edited yesterday, loved the game while he was alive, and surely would have appreciated your efforts for it on the Misplaced Pages. Endo999 (talk) 19:55, 27 January 2015 (UTC) |
Unreferenced footballer BLPs
Regarding this, if there anyway we can get that article automatically updated? It used to happen but that bot manfunctioned back in 2013 and the bot owner is semi-retired. GiantSnowman 16:03, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
- I've given up, and just use the WMF Labs Tools Cleanup list. It updates weekly, has a heap of other easily fixed errors listed too. I've managed to keep the AFL list down to under 7% of our articles with cleanup issues and almost always 0 UBLPs, Football only has 40 UBLPs. If enough of us use it, we could ask User:CleanupWorklistBot if certain high-usage projects are updated more often, or mirroring the output to updating a wiki page, not just the labs page. The Jock photo
Hey, I took the risk of uploading because Jock died before 1955, and most of his coaching career took place before 1946. I think I have some books which feature the image, will go through to confirm date. As for statue photos, I think they convey the legendary status of the players better than low quality scans. I'm usually very particular about the images I choose, in this case, there's a wide range of skills on display, it's not all speckies or basic portraits. Perhaps I'll head down to the 'G myself and take some snaps, hopefully the statues will be more visible. - HappyWaldo (talk) 20:55, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
Revert at Phillip Matera
I am not sure how common is for you to revert edits of users with five-digit contributions without actually looking at what you are reverting , but if you have a look you will easily discover that you just restored a deleted category, and in addition went counter to my CfD closure. Please revert yourself.--Ymblanter (talk) 16:44, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
- I have seen your revert, no problem. I was obviously too fast at your page. Thanks.--Ymblanter (talk) 16:45, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
James Hird
Hey there – what was with the revert? Mark Thompson was the caretaker coach for the 2014 premiership season, and James Hird returned for the 2014 off-season. That being said, why can't Hird's coaching tenure be represented as "2011–present"? 4TheWynne 09:22, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
