Matt Grimes
Hello, sorry for using a photo on Matt Grimes' article that violated copyright. Thank you for informing me on the ruling over copyright! Edders527, User talk:Edders527.
Darren Tilley
Hello sorry for not referencing my new edits, I just added statistics to Tilley's career based on the information found on this website www.soccerdatabase.eu. shotgun pete, talk.
Matches played by Messi
These sources confirm that Messi played 60 matches scoring 73 goals on season 2011-12 and 46 matches/41 goals on 2013-14: http://www.transfermarkt.com/lionel-messi/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/28003 http://www.bdfutbol.com/en/j/j1753.html
I didn't want to make an editing war or something like that ;) Thanks, SaintJimmy94 (talk) 15:51, 23 November 2014
Hi, thanks for that, I was also fixing the stats but you've done it faster hahaha, there's still one match remaining, on season 2009-10 it says "One appearance in UEFA Super Cup, 11 appearances and eight goals in UEFA Champions League", but the total count is 11 matches (not counting that UEFA Super Cup match). Thank you again, SaintJimmy94 (talk) 16:30, 23 November 2014

Hi. Maloney actually played 81 games for Wigan Athletic and 29 for Aston Villa.

My Misplaced Pages input
While I appreciate assistance from other Misplaced Pages users, I do not appreciate "final warnings" and find that inappropriate. I assume that all accounts are monitored for anyone deliberately "vandalizing" the site. I will not re-enter information that you have deleted and will be more careful looking for references for edits in future.

Thank you for you snide and pointless comment. To play that back - I highly recommend YOU read the link in that edit summary before continuing to make unconstructive edits. The words I deleted do not constitute a Lead in any sense and fails all the criteria. They are a straight duplication of the text in the rest of the article, add no value and simply detract from the rest of the article. If you are not interested in improving the content and quality of articles, or even discussing the point, why so you bother ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pwimageglow (talk • contribs) 15:15, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- How can the lead be a "straight duplication" of the rest of the article, when it's significantly shorter and makes brief references to all his clubs? I would say that meets the "summary of its most important aspects" passage at WP:LEAD. And silly remarks like that in the last sentence of your above comment aren't going to get you anywhere. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:53, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- Utter nonsense but I really cant be bothered.Pwimageglow (talk) 16:44, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
DYK for 2014–15 York City F.C. season
On 13 June 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 2014–15 York City F.C. season, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that York City were knocked out of the first round of the FA Cup in their 2014–15 season? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/2014–15 York City F.C. season. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Overkill cat
Hi there Matty, all well?
Since no one bothered to take action after the WP:FOOTY report, the following: don't you think this category I found in several players (please see Israel Puerto as example), "2013 U-20 World Cup players" is stretching it a bit to say the least? It needs to be deleted no?
Attentively, keep it up --84.90.219.128 (talk) 22:15, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
- That, and a potential vandal adding false honours (here https://en.wikipedia.org/Special:Contributions/82.78.160.150). Indeed, Baba Diawara belongs to Sevilla payroll, but he spent TWO FULL seasons on loan, so no way he won the UEFA Europa League twice. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 22:25, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
- I can't say I was aware of categories for youth tournaments, and I don't think I'd support their inclusion. Is the thread at WT:FOOTY still active? I've undone the IP and given them a warning. Mattythewhite (talk) 23:16, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
Yes sir, here it is (https://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football#CfD_candidate.3F). I also corrected you in your text because I assume you did not mean to say T-H-R-E-A-T :) If you also did not mean "thread", then accept my apologies and revert me. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 00:03, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
Sockpuppet
Long time no "catch", but here is the latest sock of User:Aciyokrocky, User:Sewerensar. How do I know this? Easy, edits only in Fenerbahçe-related articles (list of "contributions" here https://en.wikipedia.org/Special:Contributions/Sewerensar), and his storyline adjustments consist ALWAYS in gluing all the paragraphs together, as seen here (https://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=V%C3%ADtor_Pereira_(football_manager)&diff=666748932&oldid=666748358). God knows how many more have been created, the last I helped block was more or less three years ago; additionally, two miss from this list (here https://en.wikipedia.org/Category:Wikipedia_sockpuppets_of_Hyrijesaliu), User:Ensarux and User:Steadyfingers.
Shall WP grant a block? Attentively --84.90.219.128 (talk) 15:29, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
- Blocked indef as a sockpuppet. Good spot! Mattythewhite (talk) 15:42, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
Jason Walker
I see that you reverted my edit to the hatnote on Jason Walker. The reason the link should be piped through the (disambiguation) redirect (per WP:INTDABLINK) is so that those of us at WP:DPL (and the bots that help us) know that the link to the disambiguation page is intentional. -Niceguyedc 12:37, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
Bots
You are receiving this message because a technical change may affect a bot, gadget, or user script you have been using. The breaking change involves API calls. This change has been planned for two years. The WMF will start making this change on 30 June 2015. A partial list of affected bots can be seen here: https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2015-June/081931.html This includes all bots that are using pywikibot compat. Some of these bots have already been fixed. However, if you write user scripts or operate a bot that uses the API, then you should check your code, to make sure that it will not break.
What, exactly, is breaking? The "default continuation mode" for action=query requests to api.php will be changing to be easier for new coders to use correctly. To find out whether your script or bot may be affected, then search the source code (including any frameworks or libraries) for the string "query-continue". If that is not present, then the script or bot is not affected. In a few cases, the code will be present but not used. In that case, the script or bot will continue working.
This change will be part of 1.26wmf12. It will be deployed to test wikis (including mediawiki.org) on 30 June, to non-Wikipedias (such as Wiktionary) on 1 July, and to all Wikipedias on 2 July 2015.
If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!
- The simple solution is to simply include the "rawcontinue" parameter with your request to continue receiving the raw continuation data (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&rawcontinue=1>). No other code changes should be necessary.
- Or you could update your code to use the simplified continuation documented at https://www.mediawiki.org/API:Query#Continuing_queries (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&continue=>), which is much easier for clients to implement correctly.
Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.
Do you need help with your own bot or script? Ask questions in e-mail on the mediawiki-api or wikitech-l mailing lists. Volunteers at m:Tech or w:en:WP:Village pump (technical) or w:en:Misplaced Pages:Bot owners' noticeboard may also be able to help you.
Are you using someone else's gadgets or user scripts? Most scripts are not affected. To find out if a script you use needs to be updated, then post a note at the discussion page for the gadget or the talk page of the user who originally made the script. Difference of opinion (for lack of a better word)
Just to let you know I am trying to reach some consensus in Cédric Soares' article (certes, he will only join on 1 July, but he has already SIGNED with Southampton so the intro could read he actually plays for them but whatever! I have compromised there with the other editor), only to be met with absolute wikidespise from the other user. I told him that we don't write in future tense in an encyclopedia ("He will join") and the player only appeared for Sporting B in the year 2013, so it's not "2013-14" in box.
Maybe you could please message him, as my message has been utterly dismissed and/or ignored? Oh, and by the way, massive edit war going on in the article (don't look at me), a pity as the player actually PLAYS with Southampton... Attentively --84.90.219.128 (talk) 16:05, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
- Now, he has requested page protection on the article, calling me and the other IP (the other person I do not know, could be, could be not, sure does not act like one) vandals! --84.90.219.128 (talk) 16:13, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
- I'll keep an eye on the situation. Mattythewhite (talk) 16:29, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. And what about the overkill category, it stays or not? From what I have seen in José Sá, it does (here https://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Jos%C3%A9_S%C3%A1&diff=666533191&oldid=665248315). --84.90.219.128 (talk) 20:00, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
