Giant Spacekat withdrew as a company from PAX East 2015 due to security concerns, though co-founder Brianna Wu made personal appearances. Wu stated in an interview with VentureBeat, "Sadly, the scenario for possible violence against the team at a tradeshow was raised as a possibility in the most recent episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, “Intimidation Game.”"
