I see the change you ultimately made, which I'm not satisfied with, but that aside I would like an explanation here: there are 20 entries in Miles Teller's filmography and not a single one is cited. Further, the original text stating that he played himself, which is obviously incorrect to anyone that has seen the movie, was not cited. Even further, Miles Teller being quoted in an interview saying it was "more of a cameo" isn't complete, b/c the truth is that he plays a character named Miles Teller that is obviously not based on him in real life (in the movie he's a college baseball player), which is more interesting than just saying he plays a character named Miles and it's a cameo; that makes it sound like he's playing himself again (which is blatantly wrong). Can I just cite the film as a reference? It is a first source in this case, after all (and also what I was basing my editing on). Can I cite this shitty youtube video of his scenes in the movie? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fb8lxtCB7LM

== What is the value of using “&nbsp;” in edits? ==

{| style="background-color: #fdffe7; border: 1px solid #fceb92;"
Hi there. Okay, I understand that '''nbsp''' is a non-breaking space. But that is a raw HTML entity, correct? Why do some editors create edits with '''nbsp''' in them such as ? Thanks in advance for the clarification. --] (]) 04:06, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
|style="vertical-align: middle; padding: 5px;" | ]
:As you might you already know it's actually done by a script called ] which automatically suggests improvements to the formatting. ] mentions "if an mdash or ndash is preceded by a space, it had better be a non-breaking one". This is mainly because ] recommends to use non-breaking spaces to prevent causing linebreaks in some situations. However, If <code><nowiki>&amp;ndash;</nowiki></code> wasn't preceded by a space then the script won't try to modify it because, as there isn't aren't any whitespaces it's unlikely to cause linebreaks. So as you can see there was a space before the <code><nowiki>&amp;ndash;</nowiki></code> which made the script suggest a non-breaking space rather than a <code>whitespace+<nowiki>&amp;ndash;</nowiki></code>. This is however, not a rule, but rather a formatting method to improve article layout. I hope you'll get my explanation. Cheers! -- ] ] 05:05, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

== WikiCup 2015 September newsletter ==

The finals for the 2015 Wikicup has now begun! Congrats to the 8 contestants who have survived to the finals, and well done and thanks to everyone who took part in rounds 3 and 4.

In round 3, we had a three-way tie for qualification among the wildcard contestants, so we had 34 competitors. The leader was by far {{Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Participant3|Casliber}} in Group B, who earned 1496 points. Although 913 of these points were bonus points, he submitted 15 articles in the DYK category. Second place overall was {{Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Participant6|Coemgenus}} at 864 points, who although submitted just 2 FAs for 400 points, earned double that amount for those articles in bonus points. Everyone who moved forward to Round 4 earned at least 100 points.

The scores required to move onto the semifinals were impressive; the lowest scorer to move onto the finals was 407, making this year's Wikicup as competitive as it's always been. Our finalists, ordered by round 4 score, are:

#{{Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Participant6|Casliber}}, who is competing in his sixth consecutive Wikicup final, again finished the round in first place, with an impressive 1666 points in Pool B. Casliber writes about the natural sciences, including ornithology, botany and astronomy. A large bulk of his points this round were bonus points.
#{{Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Participant6|Godot13}}, second place both in Pool B and overall, earned the bulk of his points with FPs, mostly depicting currency.
#{{Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Participant6|Cwmhiraeth}}, first in Pool A, came in third. His specialty is natural science articles; in Round 4, he mostly submitted articles about insects and botany. Five out of the six of the GAs he submitted were level-4 vital articles.
#{{Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Participant6|Harrias}}, second in Pool A, took fourth overall. He tends to focus on articles about ] and military history, specifically the 1640s ].
#{{Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Participant6|West Virginian}}, from Pool A, was our highest-scoring wildcard. West Virginia tends to focus on articles about the history of (what for it!) the U.S. state of West Virginia.
#{{Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Participant6|Rodw}}, from Pool A, likes to work on articles about British geography and places. Most of his points this round were earned from two impressive accomplishments: a GT about ] and a FT about ].
#{{Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Participant6|Rationalobserver}}, from Pool B, came in seventh overall. RO earned the majority of her points from GARs and PRs, many of which were earned in the final hours of the round.
#{{Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Participant6|Calvin999}}, also from Pool B, who was competing with RO for the final two spots in the final hours, takes the race for most GARs and PRs—48.

The intense competition between RO and Calvin999 will continue into the finals. They're both eligible for the Newcomers Trophy, given for the first time in the Wikicup; whoever makes the most points will win it.

Good luck to the finalists; the judges are sure that the competition will be fierce!

miles teller in project x

I really think you should just let me change it to playing Miles Teller and putting "Not as Himself" in the note, instead of the current Miles and "Cameo appearance".

Like I said before, other entries are not cited because their articles specifically mentions his role in those movies. And I too have seen the movie a long time ago. So I see your point. But the thing is, we have to chose a reliable source over a personal analysis. And about citing a YouTube video, YouTube is not considered as a reliable source by Misplaced Pages community. However it can be used if it is impossible to find external sources. Furthermore the video shouldn't be a copyright violation. That last part is important.--Chamith (talk) 02:28, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
And here, using the word cameo is appropriate because, even though it means typically featuring characters as themselves, it doesn't always mean characters are appearing as themselves. As the Misplaced Pages article says, it's typical not always. For example in the movie The Interview (2014 film), Eminem did a cameo appearance and stated that he is gay. But that doesn't mean he is actually gay in real life.--Chamith (talk) 02:35, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

File:Human Feces.jpg Some shit
Some droppings of filthy muck mess to feel you better. Don't bother myself. Kalakannija (talk) 03:52, 10 November 2014 (UTC) (falsified date and time)
@Kalakannija: I don't know whether you have any idea what civility is. Misplaced Pages community have implemented a distinct policy for this purpose. It's similar to laws in real world. You can't just do something wrong and ask enforcers to mind their own business. This is just a mere example. Well, sometimes this process is hard because as I've clearly noticed some people are extremely narcissist that it's impossible to change their attitude. Anyhow I don't care about your relationship with any other Wikipedians including myself as long as you can contain yourself by not squabbling or directing personal attacks. And thank you for trying to lighten up my mood through your improper humor. Nonetheless, two other editors have given you fair amount of warnings regarding this matter and I hope you will be cautious next time when you are going to participate in a discussion. -- Chamith (talk) 02:40, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
I haven't the slightest idea of what you talking about. But you probably need to screw myself. What is narcissist? English is not my native language so I prefer not to condemn your vain. Although you were pointing out a harassment against BBS or LTTE disciple. I don't care any conservative rubbish, and I'm not an aspirant like yourself. I merely concern politics in Sri lanka on a scholarly platform; not in arrogant or vulgar nature. But hypocrites criticize some ethical issues without any basis regarding our customs in Sri Lanka. I don't know why you keen to bother my self on my page savagely. So literal you scream behalf of your self and that doesn't give me any sense.S.B.M. 22:08, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
@Kalakannija: I'm talking about this personal attack message you wrote using your native language. Let me guess, you thought that I had no idea about what you wrote in Sinhalese in your last personal attack. So you pretended to know nothing about it. And by the way your edit summary specifically says it's an insult which is what urged me to get help from an editor who knows Sinhalese. And secondly I linked the word narcissist to it's specific Misplaced Pages page in case if you have trouble comprehending it. This has nothing to do with LTTE, BBS or Sri Lankan politics. I usually do not get involved in editing these article. Of course they are hypocrites in Misplaced Pages. However I don't think insulting them is the solution to content disputes. It's best to comply with WP:DISPUTE in those cases. I'm sorry if those talk page warnings are bothering you, just keep in mind that they are the consequences of your actions. Perhaps that will help. Cheers! --Chamith (talk) 02:28, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
I need to know first of all are you hail from Sinhalese parents or burghur, If you have compassion regarding a national issue prevailing in Sri Lanka you can't intervene for such conversations. I believe you are not related to an aristocracy from Sri Lanka. Politics and religious extremist always quarrel. I believe you try to ban me on a very distinct policy which is not an issue from Misplaced Pages. Your quotes must be meaningful preventing Sri Lankans being savage in the civil world. I prefer take a little peak on upcomming Human rights in Sri Lanka in Geneva, Switzerland. Carry on mate.S.B.M. 15:55, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
