Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Shortcuts
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Current requests for increase in protection level
Place requests for new or upgrading of article protection, upload protection, or create protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
First Time Again
Temporary semi-protection High level of IP additions that can be considered vandalism and original research. This episode just finished airing. ḾỊḼʘɴίcả • Talk • I DX for fun! 02:41, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- Declined – Pages are not protected preemptively. Rettetast (talk) 14:23, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- Rettetast: No one was asking for it to be protected pre-emptively. At the time this request was made, there was already a "high level of IP additions that can be considered vandalism and original research" which has since continued because of you making the wrong call and not taking the time to look through this properly.Cebr1979 (talk) 19:29, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
Twice (band)
Indefinite Semi-protection: This page just stopped being under protection (the expiry date just passed). However, this group is now in the process of releasing their first album and fans/IPs are adding and changing information as they see fit without sources. This is mainly due to the sudden spike in rumors surrounding the group due to their upcoming debut through a popular and successful agency. Requesting indefinite page protection to help keep page clean from unsourced and unfounded good-faith edits and from the vandalism that usually plagues k-pop pages. Katzenlibrary (talk) 15:56, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- Semi-protected for a period of 1 month, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Airplaneman ✈ 21:51, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Charles Domery
Charles Domery (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) Semi-protection until midnight UTC : Is today's Featured Article., is being persistently vandalized. --Rubbish computer (HALP!: I dropped the bass?) 19:25, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- Declined Not a BLP, and vandalism isn't that severe. Given it's TFA I will decline as we want to try to keep it open. Fortunately there's plenty of eyes on it, and school is almost out in the US so I suspect the vandalism will die down soon — MusikAnimal 19:41, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- MusikAnimal: The page's edit history has over one full page of edit/revert/edit/revert and your solution is "school is almost out in the US so I suspect the vandalism will die down soon?"Cebr1979 (talk) 19:51, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- Today's featured article always has vandalism. The debate around if and when to protect it has been discussed to death, and it's instead decided on a case by case basis. We try our best to avoid protecting the spotlight article on a project where "anyone can edit". I would protect it without question if it weren't TFA. And yes, school is almost out in the US, which generally means less vandalism — MusikAnimal 19:54, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Economy of Serbia
Economy of Serbia (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) Temporary Semi-protection: I request urgent temporary protection for this page as long as the investigation on sock-pupping related to this page is ongoing. Persistent reverts by several IP-s (I assume they are sock-puppets of User:Simba222). Otherwise, I'll break 3rr and readers will have false information. Reason for my reverts (as you can see it summary) is because of accepted consensus not to use IMF estimation figures for GDP which these users violate.--AirWolf 20:37, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- Semi-protected for a period of 2 weeks, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. It at the end of 2 weeks there is no resolution, I'd' be happy to extend protection. Airplaneman ✈ 21:45, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – news reports of an airstrike on his convoy leading to him being declared dead on wikipedia - yet again. Meanwhile extra traffic to page by people looking for info because he is in news again. Legacypac (talk) 21:55, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Shortcuts
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Current requests for edits to a protected page
Further information: Misplaced Pages:Edit requests
Shortcut
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
Fulfilled/denied requests
A rolling archive of the last seven days of protection requests can be found at Misplaced Pages:Requests for page protection/Rolling archive.
