'''Hyde bus station''' in ], ] serves as a bus terminus for 11 bus services and as a major stop for 4 bus services in the Greater Manchester area. It was opened in 2007 and was built on the site of the old bus station for Hyde. The station is managed by ].

It is in close proximity to ], and has six stands in a modern, fully enclosed structure with glazed walls and automatic doors to all entrances and exits, and comprises four double and two single bus stands. ==History==
]

Hyde bus station opened many years ago, and had lots of services to nearby areas of Greater Manchester, just like it does now. However, many reports of the old bus station will say the shelters were very draughty.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://hydonian.blogspot.com/2011/01/old-bus-station.html|title=Hyde Cheshire Blog: The old bus station|accessdate=1 June 2011}}</ref>

In 2005 the new bus station was built by Sisk building contractors for £3.7 million, and is now entirely different, with an indoor structure with a Travelshop and cafe, seated waiting areas and computer screens displaying departures.

A plaque commemorating the finish of work at Hyde's new multi-million pound bus station was unveiled by Cllr Alan Whitehead - Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority spokesperson for Tameside - and the Leader of Tameside Council, Cllr Roy Oldham, and the Chair of Hyde District Assembly, Cllr John Sullivan, as they took a first look at the state-of-the-art bus station.
The stained glass panels at the entrance to the bus station were designed by local schoolchildren, working with a professional artist, and depict local landmarks in the town.
A new CCTV system has been installed to boost safety and security. The station is brightly lit with clearly defined pedestrian crossing points and anti-graffiti paint systems. The new station also benefits from increased staffing.
The adjoining taxi rank has been fully upgraded with a new sheltered waiting area. This work was funded and carried out by Tameside Council.

Hyde’s new bus station has utilized a modern metal service module. The service module was manufactured from polyester powder coated steel, incorporating aerofoil profiled wings and a removable central panel for full access to the services. The continuous module carries mechanical and electrical services throughout the building including lighting, CCTV, signage, sprinklers and smoke detectors.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.sasint.co.uk/hyde-bus-station.php|title=SAS International - Hyde Bus Station|accessdate=5 April 2011}}</ref>
