The destruction of ] historical monuments on the territory of ] has been raised in a new report by an international monitoring body <ref></ref>. It reported the discovery in January and February last year of a resumption of destruction of ], adding that the actions “cannot have been carried through without the consent of the ] government”. <ref></ref><ref></ref> The ] has formally called on Azerbaijan to stop the demolition as a breach of the ] World Heritage Convention. <ref></ref>

] is an exclave which belongs to ] but Armenia’s territory separates them apart. Nakhichevan borders, however, on ], ], and ].
