Article title

It might be a good idea to move this to a different title, such as List of Nickelodeon original movies or the like. --Coredesat 05:34, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, but the article it's about the movies that Nickeldeon has aired.--201.171.58.213 (talk) 03:07, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Are You Afraid of the Dark Movie

Does anyone remember there being a AYAOTD movie? I recall this, with the kids around the campfire being involved in the actual story... but I can't find any traces of this anywhere, on Misplaced Pages or otherwise. 68.210.227.229 (talk) 16:09, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

I remember watching it when it aired. It turns out it was the first three episodes of the seventh season- The Tale of the Silver Sight, parts 1, 2, & 3. It was definitely advertised as a movie when it was first broadcast. I'll add it to the list as Are You Afraid of the Dark: The Tale of the Silver Sight unless anyone has serious qualms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gold1618 (talkcontribs) 12:25, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

Looks like Nickelodeon adopted its current name in 1979, not 1981

Pinwheel Channel adopted the Nickelodeon name on April 1, 1979, as soon as it expanded to buffalo. The circumstances about Nick being known as Pinwheel until 1981 is incorrect. Newspapers were made in 1979 about Nick, in fact, the channel wasn't even called Pinwheel.

Here's a newspaper article from 1979 that states this.

/X/ has been pretty worked up lately about this one movie that Nick aired

Crybaby Lane. Apparentally, it scared a bunch of children, and it hasn't been aired since. Multiverseman (talk) 22:37, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Original movies

This list should contain films that are unique in some aspect to Nickelodeon. Listing movies like Toy Story and Adventures in Babysitting is pretty trivial information and as useless as a list of films broadcast by HBO. --Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 23:17, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

I agree; the list of non-Nickelodeon movies aired has been a large target for vandalism in the past months and the ones listed might be wrong.--Caldorwards4 (talk) 23:30, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
I do hate to revive old discussions, but this list is for 'Films that were broadcasted by Nickelodeon', which would include non-Nickelodeon movies. -- »»»DavidTwo2012«««  17:45, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

Entries that are "out of the scope" of this list

This list contains/has contained in the past many entries that are out of the announced Scope of this article – e.g. all of the two-episode, one-hour "special" episodes of Nickelodeon series. These aren't "films", which is the declared scope of this article. (And even if Nickelodeon declared them as "films", we would require Reliable sourcing to show that before including them here...) As such, they should be removed from the list here, and several editors are beginning the process of doing so.

In addition, the true "film" entries included in this list are seriously under-sourced. I'm beginning the process of adding sourcing to the true "Nickelodeon Original Films" such as Jinxed and Nicky Deuce, etc. But it is very likely that the entries in this list that are simply Nickelodeon "rebroadcasts" of theatrical films (e.g. The Last Airbender, Free Willy) will not be sourceable. I haven't gotten to those yet, but if I can't find sourcing for those, I am going to start adding {{citation needed}} tags to them as a precursor to potentially removing them from the list for failing to adhere to Misplaced Pages's Verifiability policy.

Let me state up front that I agree with the posters in the thread before this one, that the focus of this list should be narrowed to just a listing of Nickelodeon Original Films. But let's see if anything else in this list can be properly sourced first... --IJBall (contribstalk) 04:31, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

I'm just noting: this from The Futon Critic. Everything in this list is tagged as a "Special". I note that movies, such a Rufus and Liar, Liar Vampire are not included. It may be that anything included in this Futon Critic list should not be included in the article... --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:24, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
That listing looks to be for what Nick classed and advertised as specials. I don't see anything there that looks like television movies or theatrically released movies being shown on television. What is in list looks out-of-scope for this article. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:28, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Update: Progress is being made here – many of the one-hour episodes have been pulled out of the list. (Some still remain: e.g. there are a bunch of Winx Club entries which I'm pretty sure need to be pulled out too, but I haven't had a chance to go through them yet...) But this list is starting to get manageable again, leaving mostly just Nickelodeon Original Films listed, along with some 90+ minute "film"-type episodes of shows such as iCarly and Big Time Rush. --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:18, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
