Jan van Eyck

I've been trying to track down the reference Toman (2011) in Jan van Eyck. You added it in May 2014, which is some time ago, but can you remember what your source was in full? I can't find Toman, Tolman or Roman either, but you could perhaps reconstruct the same cite from pages 558–59 of this:

Yes, it's in ENA; I knew someone would locate it eventually. I've been looking at some of JvE's paintings and am wondering how you'd feel about taking a run at Virgin and Child with Canon van der Paele. Lots of hidden symbolism in that one, but it's not 20 ++ panels. So it could be a warm up for the full assault. Anyway, I have a bit of time today, have done what I can for Jane Austen (until I buy books), and am about to open my JvE files to see what I have. Yes, made a few edits there already, that Three Living and Three Dead is indeed a wicked image. Getting rather obsessed with the old illuminated mss, I love the wonky multiple perspectives and the grungy clashing patterns, while some are just sublime like this one by the Bedford Master. Cropping and downloading lots of images atm, so you may see a couple of new lavishly illustrated articles soon(ish). --Hillbillyholiday 20:29, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
