Quinebaug River
Hello...I noticed that you changed the source information on the Quinebaug River. Do you have a reference for that? I did some research and I can only find that the Quinebaug River named after Holland Pond, not Hamilton Reservoir. If Hamilton Reservoir is the source, that body of water extends into Tolland County in Connecticut and you deleted that so that's why I wanted to ask about a reference for your edit. Thanks. Dbroer (talk) 20:25, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
- Oh I'm just as confused as you. It was originally ending in Southbridge and it made no sense, I used google maps and followed the stream up to the reservoir. I'll try to find a source that has it, if not I'll change it to Holland Pond.--JJBers (talk) 20:28, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
- Couldn't find anything, I'll fix it right now.--JJBers (talk) 20:31, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
Changes to Windows articles
Why did you change the syntax of the support dates? {{Start date and age}} may only be used once in a microformat-embedding infobox per the documentation, and this is the release date typically. Additionally, it removed the exact end of support date and replaced it with just a month, which could mean anything. ViperSnake151 Talk 01:37, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
- Alright I fixed the pages to the end day and re-added days back--JJBers (talk) 02:12, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
DYK for William C. O'Neill Bike Path
On 3 September 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article William C. O'Neill Bike Path, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Rhode Island's William C. O'Neill Bike Path follows a route first proposed for use as a school children's rail line? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/William C. O'Neill Bike Path. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, William C. O'Neill Bike Path), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Please do not create, maintain or restore hoaxes on Misplaced Pages, as you did at List_of_the_most_subscribed_users_on_YouTube. Hoaxes are eligible for speedy deletion under criterion G3. If you are interested in how accurate Misplaced Pages is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Misplaced Pages — and then to correct them if possible. Please do not disrupt Misplaced Pages. Feel free to take a look at the five pillars of Misplaced Pages to learn more about this project and how you can contribute constructively. Thank you. - I'm very sorry, I was at school, and I didn't realize until now that my school blocked the content on his channel, but thanks for reminding me!--JJBers (talk) 18:45, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- I understand, please keep that in mind in the future. Generally, it's a good idea to defer to Archive.org before assuming a page has been totally obliterated. Especially on a busy article like this, try to bring it up on the talk page first. Have a nice day, -Jergling (talk) 15:22, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 23
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. Confusion
Greetings. You seem to suddenly be going around causing trouble on Connecticut River bridge articles. Why is this? I'd like to know before I start reverting you right and left, and addressing the issue on an admin page looking for arbitration. - Denimadept (talk) 01:50, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm just learning how to use a few new tools, and the pages that were nominated for deletion did qualify for A11 as there was not reliable sources. The Route 3 bridge is the only one I deiced to tag. The other 3 did also comply too, but I wanted to properly test out the other tools. The other CT River bridges I did edit, I put information in. You can delete the revision for the speedy deletion if you feel it is unnecessary. I just feel the pages are unnecessary and are as important as a local stream crossing.--JJBers (talk) 01:57, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- You'll get no argument from me for most of your edits, and in fact I was toning down my post here when you replied, so I gave up on doing so. I apologize for the original phrasing. The Rt 3 bridge is the northern-most (first) bridge on the river, as I thought we agreed was notable a few days ago. Maybe that was someone else. The Enfield bridge image removal was inappropriate as it showed additional information. The Stub/Start distinction is somewhat vague, I agree, but it seems nicer to call them "Start" since someone might find more information about the subjects. - Denimadept (talk) 02:01, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- I agree with most of what you said there, and also I did say it was notable a few days ago, and it kinda is, but it would be better off not being a separate article, and more of a note for the bridge listing on the CT River Crossings. The Enfield Bridge photo removal was because it disrupted the flow of text, and I found no other way to fix other than simply removing it, and I understood it provided useful info, but it could of also been transferred into text, or linked to the page in some way. Finally, a lot of the Start articles had stub tags, or were very short summaries for history, and also for every single one I re-marked, the Bridge WikiProject had the page marked as stub, while the Connecticut WikiProject had it marked as start, which caused confusion with me...Oh well, I'm not the feisty user with these types of situations, and I agree with most of the points mentioned.--JJBers (talk) 02:15, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- We don't always have these admin articles up-to-date. I expect many people forget about them. Regarding the image on the Enfield bridge article, see the text which follows it. - Denimadept (talk) 02:19, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
- Alright, I deiced to try to fix the bridge image situation, which I felt semi-satisfied with the fix for the short term. Also I'm going to try to sort out the deletion issue, probably trying to re-list it in the near future. Also I'm going to try to attract traffic to the situation by helping other nominations out. I think we can dismiss the situation for now, but we'll have to address this again soon again. For now, so long.--JJBers Public (talk) 14:36, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
AFD
Hi, Could you reopen Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Scott Brook Road bridge over the Connecticut River (and revert the redirect) as there's clearly no consensus to redirect at all, Not only that but you've used the wrong AFD template entirely (Technically I should revert and reclose however it's counterproductive to revert, reclose with the correct temp, and then ask you to reopen), Thanks, –Davey2010 22:50, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Davey2010: Alright, I completed all of what you said. This is really a first for me, but while your here, you could bring up something. I closed it because it had matured, and no one had responded in 4 days.— JJBers (talk) 23:00, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
- Wow that was the easiest ask I've ever done so thank you :),
- Well 1 as you were the nominator you cannot close your own discussions, and 2 - Consensus is to at the moment delete and now there's delete !votes present you can't withdraw the AFD,
- Forgot to mention but you obviously don't get to choose your preferred outcome - Once you nominate it it's then down to the community to decide what to do with it,
- I would strongly advise you read WP:AFD and WP:BADNAC
- Thanks and Happy editing :), –Davey2010 23:12, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Davey2010: Could you possibly re-list the nomination if possible, it has been nearly 8 days since it was nominated, and nothing much came out of it.— JJBers (talk) 23:19, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

Did you know?Did you know that you can easily re-arrange columns and rows in the visual editor?
Select a cell in the column or row that you want to move. Click the arrow at the start of that row or column to open the dropdown menu (shown). Choose either "Move before" or "Move after" to move the column, or "Move above" or "Move below" to move the row.
You can read and help translate the user guide, which has more information about how to use the visual editor.
Since the last newsletter, the VisualEditor Team has mainly worked on a new wikitext editor. They have also released some small features and the new map editing tool. Their workboard is available in Phabricator. You can find links to the list of work finished each week at mw:VisualEditor/Weekly triage meetings. Their current priorities are fixing bugs, releasing the 2017 wikitext editor as a beta feature, and improving language support.
Recent changes
- You can now set text as small or big.
- Invisible templates have been shown as a puzzle icon. Now, the name of the invisible template is displayed next to the puzzle icon. A similar feature will display the first part of hidden HTML comments.
- Categories are displayed at the bottom of each page. If you click on the categories, the dialog for editing categories will open.
- At many wikis, you can now add maps to pages. Go to the Insert menu and choose the "Maps" item. The Discovery department are adding more features to this area, like geoshapes. You can read more on MediaWiki.org.
- The "Save" button now says "Save page" when you create a page, and "Save changes" when you change an existing page. In the future, the "Save page" button will say "Publish page". This will affect both the visual and wikitext editing systems. More information is available on Meta.
- Image galleries now use a visual mode for editing. You can see thumbnails of the images, add new files, remove unwanted images, rearrange the images by dragging and dropping, and add captions for each image. Use the "Options" tab to set the gallery's display mode, image sizes, and add a title for the gallery.
Future changes
The visual editor will be offered to all editors at the remaining 10 "Phase 6" Wikipedias during the next month. The developers want to know whether typing in your language feels natural in the visual editor. Please post your comments and the language(s) that you tested at the feedback thread on mediawiki.org. This will affect several languages, including Thai, Burmese and Aramaic.
The team is working on a modern wikitext editor. The 2017 wikitext editor will look like the visual editor and be able to use the citoid service and other modern tools. This new editing system may become available as a Beta Feature on desktop devices in October 2016. You can read about this project in a general status update on the Wikimedia mailing list.
Let's work together
Do you teach new editors how to use the visual editor? Did you help set up the Citoid automatic reference feature for your wiki? Have you written or imported TemplateData for your most important citation templates? Would you be willing to help new editors and small communities with the visual editor? Two things
Hi JJBers. I deleted User:Bdhsj000, which you created with what appeared to be mocking text, and reverted your edits at User:SwisterTwister. It's generally considered impolite to substantially edit other users' user pages, especially if you're only mocking them (in the first case), or they have blanked their entire page due to frustration (the second case). DYK nomination of Corinth, New York
Hello! Your submission of Corinth, New York at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! BlueMoonset (talk) 03:58, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
- JJBers, I'm a bit puzzled as to why you nominated this article: it is not new, certainly doesn't qualify as a recent 5x expansion, and isn't a newly promoted Good Article—the only three ways an article can qualify for DYK. I'm posting this as a courtesy, to remind you of the newness/recentness requirement, because the creation/expansion/promotion needs to have occurred within the past seven days, and also to let you know that the nomination has been closed as unsuccessful because it is not a recent 5x expansion. Best of luck with your next DYK nomination. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:58, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
AfC
Hi. I'm just letting you know that I have temporarily removed your names from the AfC helper script access list. A quick glance at your talk page reveals that you are still not ready for this complex task yet and you are not familiar with the content of WP:NPP which details everything you should really know for reviewing article drafts. Please spend a couple more months doing general editing and then come back to AfC when you have more confidence. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:51, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
New Page Review needs your help
Hi JJBers,
As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).
Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.
Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.
It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.

Former Interstate 84 (Connecticut—Rhode Island) listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Former Interstate 84 (Connecticut—Rhode Island). Re: WPUS50k: Does this article lean towards one state over the other? For reconciliation purposes, it'd probably be best not to count this towards both states when only one template is added to the talk page. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:04, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
- I guess it leans toward Connecticut.—JJBers|talk 22:15, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

Woah, why did you move the WPUS50k template? Now the category has reset to 11, unless a bot will go through and repopulate based on the redirected template? ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:06, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
- Again, like said in the move it's self, the "k" is really un-needed, and I checked the pages that were affected, and they looked fine. Including the category, the total is at 577, the same as the page.—JJBers|talk 22:14, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, ok, I guess the system just had to catch up. Thanks for checking. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:51, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
OrphanReferenceFixer: Help on reversion
Hi there! I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. Recently, you reverted my fix to Interstate 84 (Connecticut–Rhode Island).
If you did this because the references should be removed from the article, you have misunderstood the situation. Most likely, the article originally contained both <ref name="foo">...</ref>
and one or more <ref name="foo"/>
referring to it. Someone then removed the <ref name="foo">...</ref>
but left the <ref name="foo"/>
, which results in a big red error in the article. I replaced one of the remaining <ref name="foo"/>
with a copy of the <ref name="foo">...</ref>
; I did not re-insert the reference to where it was deleted, I just replaced one of the remaining instances. What you need to do to fix it is to make sure you remove all instances of the named reference so as to not leave any big red error.
If you reverted because I made an actual mistake, please be sure to also correct any reference errors in the page so I won't come back and make the same mistake again. Also, please post an error report at User talk:AnomieBOT so my operator can fix me! If the error is so urgent that I need to be stopped, also post a message at User:AnomieBOT/shutoff/OrphanReferenceFixer. Thanks!
