In ''The Disappearance of the Universe'', Renard recounts, in dialogue and commentary, a series of 17 appearances by two ] over the course of nine years beginning in 1992. The two ascended masters identify themselves as the reincarnations of two disciples of ]: ] and ]. Renard says the encounters were his first introduction to '']'' (ACIM). Renard's second book, ''Your Immortal Reality'' (2006), is a continuation of the first book with the same format and type of dialogue with the two masters that is found in ''The Disappearance of the Universe''. ==Personal life==
After his purported encounters with the ascended masters and being a musician, Renard focused as spokesperson and teacher in relation to ''A Course in Miracles''. In 2007 Renard divorced his first wife, Karen Renard. In 2009 he remarried to musician and therapist, Cindy Lora-Renard.
