Anbe Sivam FAC

I need your help at the FAC regarding the review of the images in the "Themes and influences" section. Thanks.  — Ssven2 12:53, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

I haven't seen the film, so I really don't know how much relevant are the images or other matter in the Themes section. As an onlooker, and comparing it with American Beauty, I think you should consider the opinions of Jo-Jo Eumerus and Numerounovedant. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 15:42, 10 January 2018 (UTC)

The article has been promoted to FA. My first solo FA.  — Ssven2 15:41, 20 January 2018 (UTC)

Wow. Congratulations Ssven2 for your first solo project. :) Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 16:50, 20 January 2018 (UTC)

Dinkoism

Hello, Let There Be Sunshine. This is a courtesy notice that the copy edit you requested for Dinkoism at the Guild of Copy Editors requests page is now complete. All feedback welcome! Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 04:38, 12 January 2018 (UTC))
I notice you haven't actually edited this article yourself. Unless you have plans to improve or develop them, I suggest in future you tag random articles you find wanting c/e with the tag(s) {{copy edit}} or {{Cleanup}}, rather than using the Requests page. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 02:45, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
C/e  Done; I've removed repeated text, waffle etc from the article; I invite you to review my changes. It should probably be merged with Dinkan. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 04:38, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
Baffle_gab1978, thanks, I will keep that in mind. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 07:51, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

Multiple issues for CPC Cine Awards

Original Research - Inline references were given from more than one relevant news agencies. Looking for more input on this from your side. Please help — Preceding unsigned comment added by Navaneethmadhusoodanan (talkcontribs) 05:15, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

The first para is History section is OR, it can be also seen in between some cited contents. There is also a tendency to promote the subject with puffery that effects the WP:NPOV, such as "prominent group", "remarkable name", "received great appreciation from Malayalam film fraternity and also the public due to its unbiased nature and genuineness", "extreme happiness", "unanimously told", "youth icons", "immense pleasure", "great media attention". Overall this page reflects the opinion of the author. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 08:41, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

Let There Be Sunshine. Thanks for the input. First part of the history section reflecting OR is still unclear. Just because the cited content also mentions the history, can it be OR?. Anyway, the puffery mentioned is noted and will be corrected to reflect WP:NPOV. Thanks for the input. Moved this commented by Civilinformer. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 08:35, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

Civilinformer, sign your comments with these four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your comment and always reply below the existing conversation. I have moved your comment below. For your query, it isn't cited anywhere which makes it OR. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 08:35, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

AWB

Correct me if I'm wrong: using the above linked software, you were able to change various articles containing "Dileep (actor)" to "Dileep". Right? I too have downloaded AWB, but it's hard for me to understand how to do it. ----Kailash29792 (talk) 17:09, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

Kailash29792, I too faced the same problem initially, find it perplexing at first but it's easy once you familiarize with it. Although, I'm yet to use many of the options. For your query, there are several ways to make a list, one way is to select What Links Here from source. Always filter the list since you only need articles and not talk pages, templates, etc. In Find and Replace, you need to use the second type (Advanced settings). Then, New → Rule → Find and Replace. For replacing multiple texts, start another Rule, which mean you can replace Dileep (actor) → Dileep and Dhanush (actor) → Dhanush in the same page. Sub Rules are acted only when the main Rule is applied (eg: Main rule is to replace A → B and sub rule 1 → 2, which means 2 replace 1 only if B has replaced A in that page). Since you need to save all the edits manually, it would be wise to use Skip option to save time, and you can finally Start the procedure. I have skipped some of the minor options since you would surely find it in the process. I hope this helps you. Please ask if you have more. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 18:15, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: BookMyShow (February 2)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Chrissymad was: This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability. Misplaced Pages requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject—see the guidelines on the notability of organizations and companies, the golden rule and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue. Please improve the submission's referencing (see Misplaced Pages:Referencing for beginners and Help:Introduction to referencing/1), so that the information is verifiable, and there is clear evidence of why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia. If additional reliable sources cannot be found for the subject, then it may not be suitable for Misplaced Pages at this time. The comment the reviewer left was: None of the sources have the necessary coverage needed to establish notability. It's all press releases, fluff, mentions and WP:MILL and it's getting into the territory of WP:TENDENTIOUS Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 19:28, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: BookMyShow (February 3)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by TonyBallioni was: This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Misplaced Pages's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Misplaced Pages, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. The comment the reviewer left was: Obvious spam, so the assessment of notability is less important at this point. It isn't fit for inclusion in Misplaced Pages. Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved. TonyBallioni (talk) 21:54, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Paid editing

Hi, you recently made a significant number of edits that appeared to be advocating for Draft:BookMyShow to be made an article. Even in this article history, there is at least one undeclared paid sockfarm, and as one of my administrator colleagues Cryptic has pointed out at the MfD, this subject has been attempted to be created at so many different titles in order to spam their way on Misplaced Pages, that it is hard to count.

Because of this, I am curious if you have been paid to edit this article or any other articles on the English Misplaced Pages. If you have, by the terms of use of the Wikimedia Foundation, you must declare this for each and every article. A declaration must also include who your employer is. You can learn more about this at WP:PAID. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. TonyBallioni (talk) 05:38, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

My hands are not for sale. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 07:48, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
Then could you please explain why you are so aggressively trying to promote an article that has been created under virtually any possible title and following the same tactic of previous spammers in trying to change titles in order to avoid detection via G4? TonyBallioni (talk) 07:57, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
Before that could you explain what was your rationale for declining the draft. The actual one, not the dummy reasons you tagged in the draft. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 08:02, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
Sure: it is obvious spam and a commissioned work. TonyBallioni (talk) 08:04, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
You already said that. I asked about your rationale behind that conclusion. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 08:08, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
No you didn’t, but I’ll tell you: the article has been deleted many times before: it has crossover with at least one undeclared paid sockfarm blocked by SpacemanSpiff, and it reads like a page from their website, not an encyclopedia article. Further, as has been pointed out already, it follows the standard paid pattern of people trying to create it under different titles or move it so that no one will realize the community has already decided it has no place here. If you want a second opinion, MER-C might be able to provide one. I trust their judgement on these matters. Now, could you please answer my question how you randomly found a commissioned draft and why you are fighting so aggressively to promote it to mainspace if you have not been paid to do so? TonyBallioni (talk) 08:15, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
I could understand the reason for the last six submissions declined. I copyedited it significantly to adhere to the NPOV, not that great but at least made it better. But since it went through multiple CSDs, AFDs, deletion reviews and unsuccessful draft submissions, the reviewers have blacklisted it by de facto. They are looking it the same way as it was earlier, not with an open mind. It's not a company as the discussions had it, it's a website WP:WEB, since you are not ready to move it anyway you are finding other reasons to decline it, and now you want that draft itself deleted. I know it's hard to move this to mainspace, a proposed article that went through this much trouble, but you are not even giving it a chance. Now, as for you query, please don't assume that someone is being paid to promote an article. BookMyShow is not randomly found, I am from India, it's a very well known ticketing website and I was searching for it. It's very unfortunate that it doesn't have an article. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 08:42, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

I must agree with Sunshine, in that the draft is being rejected for mainspace entry simply because of how the website was originally perceived, without the admins even glimpsing at how much nit has developed since. It is no longer just a ticket booking site, it's purpose has widened by quite a bit. --Kailash29792 (talk) 08:52, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

Nope. It's still promotional. Don't look to the typical article on a company (especially Indian) as a guide; chances are they've been spammed by their respective PR departments. I also recommend everyone here read User:JzG/And the band played on...; it's a good summary of the situation.
You, however, bring up a good point. Notability requirements for websites should be raised to match those of companies (the new draft, not CORP as it currently stands) to prevent exactly this problem. MER-C 18:04, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
What do you mean by promotional. If you are talking about the draft in its entirety then you are implying that it is not notable, which is negative; per WP:WEB it certainly is notable. If you are intending it is written in a promotional manner, then I am open to any change or rewrite you suggest, whatever. And obviously the present draft deletion request is because of the scenario that it pass the criteria, now that the draft is in good form, its former ill history (commissioned work, paid editing, multiple deletions) is being used as a key to delete it, so that further creation of drafts can also be deleted in that ground. It's a joke, the site is highly popular, sooner or later it would be created in mainspace. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 19:41, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
The draft is promotional because of who wrote it and how it got to Misplaced Pages, which, as you know, is a volunteer curated project. If (say) Microsoft's PR department submitted a draft article on their company it is still promotional by definition because the PR department wrote it. They're employed to promote their company, so everything they write is promotional regardless of content or notability. Misplaced Pages is not a marketing medium. MER-C 11:55, 5 February 2018 (UTC)
If that is the problem then delete that draft. I shall create a fresh stub, I am not part of any PR department. Let There Be Sunshine (talk) 12:31, 5 February 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Sathya (upcoming film)

Hello Let There Be Sunshine. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Sathya (upcoming film), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: R3 explicitly doesn't apply if the page being moved isn't new. Thank you. ~ Amory (utc) 21:34, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

Amorymeltzer, how does this redirect be of any use here ? Film released in 2017.--Let There Be Sunshine 06:24, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
I didn't say it was useful, just that WP:CSD#R3 explicitly doesn't apply. There's a history of abuse with moving a page and then deleting the redirect, so it's best to just throw it over to WP:RFD for review. Not a biggie. ~ Amory (utc) 12:19, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Chila Nerangallil Chilar

Dear Let There Be Sunshine! Can you make an article about upcoming movie Chila Nerangallil Chilar? Thank you! --212.48.202.153 (talk) 16:39, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Sorry, I stopped creating film articles for some time now. Also I made a quick search, there is not enough sources available to create an article, it will be even harder for an upcoming film. Thanks.--Let There Be Sunshine 17:30, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Neerali

Hai I think there are enough reference for other star casts in Neerali. please check here ] and ] Thank you Yourmistake (talk) 16:53, 17 March 2018 (UTC)

Yes, there are cast list in those sources, saying female lead, supporting roles, important roles etc. But you cannot add all of them in the infobox "starring" field or the lead in "the film stars". Also, in which order are you arranging the cast ? Where do you get that order from ?. Not everyone has starring roles in a film, starring and cast are different. To this point, it's unknown that which actors has starring credits apart from Mohanlal. Either you should have a proper source stating that or need to wait until the film releases (always recommended). Saying "How come mohanlal only stars in a movie.." does not support your addition of other cast.--Let There Be Sunshine 17:18, 17 March 2018 (UTC)

About the Third Opinion request: The request for a Third Opinion in regard to this dispute has been removed (i.e. declined) because like all other moderated content dispute resolution venues at Misplaced Pages, 3O requires extensive talk page discussion before seeking assistance. If an editor will not discuss, consider the recommendations which are made here. — TransporterMan (TALK) 17:29, 18 March 2018 (UTC) This is an informational posting only and I am not watching this page; contact me on my user talk page if you wish to communicate with me about this.

Parvatii nair and Suraj doing star roles in their previous films.and sources clearly says they are doing main lead roles. I believe they deserve to be in star cast Yourmistake (talk) 03:15, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

What's their previous films has to do with this film ? For the source you shown, there are contradicting sources as well , some others also reports Nadhiya as the female lead . Neither you or these news editors don't know anything about the cast and roles, this is an upcoming film, the editors writes on their discretion which is why different sources reports differently. Sourcing does not guarantee inclusion, there is a thing called "fact checking", it is yet to be verified here. And, you still haven't answered were did you get the cast order from . --Let There Be Sunshine 14:16, 21 March 2018 (UTC)

Ok then we have to add both Parvaty and Nadhiya as female star cast in the movie... many sources clearly mentioned even before the film starts there will be two female leads.. before they were trying to cast meena and trisha ..one is mohanlals wife(Nadhiya) who has less screen space and Parvatii (more screenspace) I dont know what is the exact rule here in wikipedia while adding star roles.I checked and noticed many other movies all included important cast as star cast.I dont know why experienced editor like you fights for this. Yourmistake (talk) 16:45, 21 March 2018 (UTC)

I wanted to know wikipedia policy about adding star casts in a film.because there are many upcoming films example Kayamkulam Kochunni (2018 film) take a look at the star cast( mohanlal doing a extended cameo.giving him top star credits.and many others too)I mentioned Kayamkulam kochunni because --Let There Be Sunshine is one of the main editors there.Kammara_Sambhavam,Ranam (2018 film)I can give many examples.why its all differ from Neerali .Please make one rule for every article.Yourmistake (talk) 18:25, 21 March 2018 (UTC)

How can you know which actress has more screen space, the film has not released. Reliable sources can be used to explain about the cast in the article body, and to roughly arrange them in the cast section (which we have no other choice), but that is not necessary in the lead and infobox. It is also applicable to all other films as well. What you said about KK is not true, no starring credits has been given, it is very specific: 'Nivin Pauly in title role, Mohanlal in cameo', a very notable cameo worth mentioning in lead and his name is not in the infobox and is placed at the very bottom of the cast list - that is a different case, not comparable. In case of Ranam, Prithviraj, Rahman and Isha's names are specifically billed on the poster, clearly they have the starring credits. IPs are frequently making cast changes in both KK and Ranam, the latter is now protected. I don't care much about Kammara Sambhavam, already there are many articles in my watch, including Neerali.--Let There Be Sunshine 11:40, 22 March 2018 (UTC)

List of Malayalam films of 2018#Scheduled please check out the star cast. many of films star cast arranged by considering some of the relevant sources like neerali has. here there are some some relevant sources clearly mentioned Parvatii Nair and Nadhiya doing important roles.example Indian express, times of india,Mathrubhumi some of the leading news papers in India. this is enough reference for giving them star credits Yourmistake (talk) 02:43, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

The 2018 list is not a good example, indeed it's bad. I would say that cast column itself should be removed from that. Whataboutism and WP:OSE are useless here, especially when the pointed examples are bad. About the later, I had already explained above, I think you haven't listened carefully or not willing to.--Let There Be Sunshine 18:34, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

waiting for third opinion from admins...I dont understand your point.when some of resources clearly proves the star cast.how can we not include the star cast. thank you.. Yourmistake (talk) 21:43, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

Do not re-add it unless you have an explanation. This is not how discussions are done. You are triggering an edit war.--Let There Be Sunshine 15:21, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

I explained it many times. even your point is not clear. removing them from star cast because of benefit of doubt doesn't make this article complete or true. Adding the star cast = not adding the star cast in this case of your explanation my point is clear there are enough reference for parvatii and nadhia... they deserve to be in star cast Yourmistake (talk) 17:18, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Sourcing does not guarantee inclusion. You need to read this discussion once more to know why. You said you want a third opinion, but you are not willing to wait for it and instead re-adding it through edit war.--Let There Be Sunshine 17:50, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
Apart, you still haven't answered some of the questions I raised. Where did you get the cast order from ? How can you know that parvati has more screen space and Nadhiya has less ? Still haven't replied about some of the contradicting reports I listed. Besides, terms like "female lead" are decorative words used by media (most commonly by Indian media). A film does not categorize lead roles based on gender, otherwise it should be an ensemble cast (even for that, we do not classify like that).--Let There Be Sunshine 18:32, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
