:::Sure. I said on COIN I would use AfC from now on. I suppose there could be an exception for a scientific or technical topic of great complexity but I'd ask for guidance in such a case. That first quote is the same thing I do at AfC. On the draft Talk page, or on Comments atop an article, I will sometimes write a short note picking out the primary sources that establish notability (since these are sometimes just a few among many and I've sometimes had less careful reviewers harp on sources that don't establish notability) or some other note that makes it easier for them to review. If a reviewer asks for more neutral language, I'll provide a note explaining what I changed when I resubmit. Anything that isn't on a published article page is "behind the scenes" to mostly the people I work with. They don't know what AfC or Talk pages even are. As to the other sentence, I won't do this with new articles. There had definitely been some good outcomes, though - the expert who reviewed Alivecor asked me to add a few peer reviewed studies (and he sent some), instead of secondary sources describing them. Wasn't needed for notability but made the article better. When it comes to an update, clients have no idea that something like an RfC exists, which will be cross-posted to relevant Misplaced Pages projects, thereby getting attention of self-identified subject matter experts. They have zero knowledge and don't want to invest the time to learn -- they have other jobs. I turn down probably 3 in 4 people who approach me -- and I'd imagine almost all of those turn into undisclosed conflict of interest editing, since I won't help them. Undisclosed COI editing is a far bigger issue for Misplaced Pages, likely affecting millions of articles, in my opinion.] (]) 23:35, 25 May 2018 (UTC)BC1278 :::Sure. ::::I don't have a problem with looking for experts to help with the writing and sourcing this is excellent practice and will make for much better articles. It is more of a problem to request that these editors accept your draft submissions and move them into mainspace thus bypassing the process of reviewing by experienced reviewers. Beepi DRN case.

Hi! I want to apologize for the delays, and let you know i am working on it. See User talk:Steven Zhang#Help needed with Beepi case.

After this DRN case is closed, I am going to start asking on our policy pages to see what kind of changes we can make so that thise sort of thing isn't so difficult and time-consuming for someone in your position. --Guy Macon (talk) 13:29, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

To editor Guy Macon: Hi. I appreciate it. I think I made a mistake asking for a RFC instead of posting the template for a requested COI edit. My guess is that editors who frequently look at COI requests are generally better for evaluations like this. Meantime, it looks like an editor User:Jytdog left a note on the dispute board, then made the changes on Beepi related to the financial updates, while the other changes are being evaluated. I have no connection to this user. BTW, I only suggested the other requested changes because the RFC editor asked for more general information about Beepi, in addition to financial updates. Happy to have them evaluated and for any other improvements to the article.

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Information icon Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Andrew Lack (executive). I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this: |image=], instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do: |image=SomeImage.jpg. There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! My etiquette error

Apologies for making abrupt edits in your sandbox for the Laura J. Alber bio. I forgot that I was looking at a sandbox and not a live article. But they were valid edits I think for NPOV, should you decide to publish it. As for further review, I will decline as a personal policy I steer clear of paid work on WP. - Bri (talk) 16:14, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

@Bri:They're appreciated. I just left you a message asking if you'd like to do the review on the Talk section of the live stub article. Talk:Laura_J._Alber It requires independent review as I have a conflict of interest. Thanks. BC1278 (talk) 16:15, 26 May 2017 (UTC)BC1278

@Bri: I understand -- and as a volunteer, however you choose to spend your time is up to you. But, please understand that because of the difficulty in getting independent reviewers, in the case of some subjects, it is difficult or even impossible to get a review, no matter the merits of the article So I turn away many people who ask for my help - and they just go ahead and edit without any disclosure of their conflict of interest. They also don't get the benefit of having someone like me help them who knows and follows Misplaced Pages policies. I see it constantly. The result is many lower quality article for Misplaced Pages, with abundant undisclosed COI. This is the exact opposite of the intended effect of the COI policy. Hey, just wanted to let you know -- you created an article called BC1278/sandbox/axios. Draft:Caryn Marooney

Hi there, Ed! I saw your request on Rosiestep's page for a review of this article. Maybe I can first make some informal comments here. Without going into too much detail, the following might help you along.

At the moment, the article deals above all with Marooney's career developments since 2005 and especially since 2011. There is very little on her early life. It would help to have more information about her birth, parents, childhood, education and marriage, if possible with dates. I see from here that she was 32 in 2010 so she must have been born around 1967/68. You'll find a snippet from the Brearley Bulletin here. You can probably also find out what she studied at Cornell and when she was there.

The account of her career is rather stereotyped: basically a set of dates and assignments. Try to fill it out with comment from others. I see, for example, there are a number of interviews, etc., where Maronney expands on her views. You could look through these for a more personalized account of her career., , , etc. There's also more herel.

Finally, the article reads a bit like a cv and is over-promotional. Try to present it in a more neutral, biograpical style. But it's coming on quite well so keep at it. She deserves an article.--Ipigott (talk) 15:40, 20 December 2017 (UTC)

Ipigott Thanks for the great suggestions. I'll keep working on it.BC1278 (talk)BC1278

Alivecor

Hi BC1278,

I wonder if a better way to write about the topic would be instead to write about the Kardiaband, rather than writing about Alivecor. Some of the references seem to take that approach.

Would you be amenable to that approach?

BakerStMD 17:25, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi user: Bakerstmd. Thanks for writing with your idea. I did think about a separate story for Kardiaband as a possibility at some point. Aside from the research to date, there is significant ongoing clinical research with Mayo, Cleveland Clinic and Columbia that will likely result in more peer reviewed academic articles and additional FDA and EU approvals for the device.

But in this case, Alivecor is not a single product company. Kardia Mobile is still an important product and widely used because it does not require an Apple Watch, just a smart phone. This has been the main product of the company for many years and also has a bunch of clinical research. Kardia Pro, for physicians to monitor multiple patients with devices, works with both Kardia Mobile and KardiaBand.

And while I don't mention this in the article, publications have mentioned that the company may negotiate to license its FDA approved diagnostic AI software to other device makers. I didn't include it yet because of WP:CRYSTAL This is separate from the ECG medical device.

So, this is a multiproduct company and we'd lose too much current and future information if we only wrote about KardiaBand.

There's also the business angle. They hired a well known CEO from Google and a prominent engineering team. And they have financing from well known companies and the Mayo Clinic. All this would be lost without an Alivecor article. The company qualifies as notable separate from KardiaBand press. It had many years of press and peer reviewed academic articles before KardiaBand.

I think that the best short term solution is to place a forward to Alivecor in case anyone searches KardiaBand. And if the research findings on KardiaBand become too involved for the Alivecor article, then someone can consider a separate article.

We might also put the Products section above the History if there is a concern that a patient doing research might not get to the most relevant information quickly enough.

There is already a review going on with another editor, on the Talk page, so I'd suggest consolidating this discussion there. I will copy and paste it. ----BC1278

new article on VC personality

Hi there!

Seems fine to me. But you have to be very careful with details since your article is about a living person.

Choice of editors to move your draft articles.

I have had a look more deeply at your choice of editors to move your drafts into mainspace and I really think you should stop this practice. You asked several editors that have no experience whatsoever in reviewing articles that have less than 500 contributions to move several of your draft articles into mainspace. I don't think that this is a very good idea because it looks like you are choosing inexperienced editors that are part of Wikiprojects connected to the subject rather than let experienced reviewers look them over. It may be that you did not take the time to check out their experience which is a real shame. I strongly suggest that this stop. I will have a look at the different articles and if they are not up to scratch or have not been reviewed by more experienced editors I will move them back to draft space. Dom from Paris (talk) 20:15, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

I recall that at one point, I thought perhaps I should just invite everyone in a small project so I wouldn't be accused of cherry picking people who had a specific POV. Or that I should move in order from bottom to top, or top to bottom, for the same reason. BC1278 (talk) 21:29, 25 May 2018 (UTC)BC1278
I think what you should do is not invite anyone and allow the experienced reviewers to do their jobs. Most of what you do is companies and businessmen the notability rules are the same regardless of the area they work in. By canvassing particular projects linked to the subject you are more likely to find favorable reviewers. There is no need for medical expertise to evaluate the notability of a company that produces medical equipment. You should not be giving instructions to editors who are not reviewers how to accept a draft and move it into mainspace I believe. This really looks like you are gaming the system. I have read quite closely your website and certain extracts worry me a little "Behind the scenes, we offer pre-emptive notes to the reviewer explaining why the subject is notable, verifiably sourced and presented in neutral manner." As does this "So we’ve developed tactics to find independent reviewers by other means." "We are highly skilled at locating editors with interest in subject matters." This all points towards cherry picking and prepping the reviewers. Other editors have said that you should gonthgo the AFC and not canvass for reviewers. Will you do this? Dom from Paris (talk) 22:15, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
Sure. Undisclosed COI editing is a far bigger issue for Misplaced Pages, likely affecting millions of articles, in my opinion.BC1278 (talk) 23:35, 25 May 2018 (UTC)BC1278
I don't have a problem with looking for experts to help with the writing and sourcing this is excellent practice and will make for much better articles. It is more of a problem to request that these editors accept your draft submissions and move them into mainspace thus bypassing the process of reviewing by experienced reviewers. Thanks for your reply I think we fully understand each other now. Cheers. Dom from Paris (talk) 09:28, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
