Beepi DRN case.

Hi! I want to apologize for the delays, and let you know i am working on it. See User talk:Steven Zhang#Help needed with Beepi case.

After this DRN case is closed, I am going to start asking on our policy pages to see what kind of changes we can make so that thise sort of thing isn't so difficult and time-consuming for someone in your position. --Guy Macon (talk) 13:29, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

To editor Guy Macon: Hi. I appreciate it. I think I made a mistake asking for a RFC instead of posting the template for a requested COI edit. My guess is that editors who frequently look at COI requests are generally better for evaluations like this. Meantime, it looks like an editor User:Jytdog left a note on the dispute board, then made the changes on Beepi related to the financial updates, while the other changes are being evaluated. I have no connection to this user. BTW, I only suggested the other requested changes because the RFC editor asked for more general information about Beepi, in addition to financial updates. Happy to have them evaluated and for any other improvements to the article.

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Information icon Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Andrew Lack (executive). I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this: |image=], instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do: |image=SomeImage.jpg. There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! My etiquette error

Apologies for making abrupt edits in your sandbox for the Laura J. Alber bio. I forgot that I was looking at a sandbox and not a live article. But they were valid edits I think for NPOV, should you decide to publish it. As for further review, I will decline as a personal policy I steer clear of paid work on WP. - Bri (talk) 16:14, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

@Bri:They're appreciated. I just left you a message asking if you'd like to do the review on the Talk section of the live stub article. Talk:Laura_J._Alber It requires independent review as I have a conflict of interest. Thanks. BC1278 (talk) 16:15, 26 May 2017 (UTC)BC1278

@Bri: I understand -- and as a volunteer, however you choose to spend your time is up to you. But, please understand that because of the difficulty in getting independent reviewers, in the case of some subjects, it is difficult or even impossible to get a review, no matter the merits of the article So I turn away many people who ask for my help - and they just go ahead and edit without any disclosure of their conflict of interest. They also don't get the benefit of having someone like me help them who knows and follows Misplaced Pages policies. I see it constantly. The result is many lower quality article for Misplaced Pages, with abundant undisclosed COI. This is the exact opposite of the intended effect of the COI policy. Draft:Caryn Marooney

Hi there, Ed! I saw your request on Rosiestep's page for a review of this article. Maybe I can first make some informal comments here. Without going into too much detail, the following might help you along.

At the moment, the article deals above all with Marooney's career developments since 2005 and especially since 2011. There is very little on her early life. It would help to have more information about her birth, parents, childhood, education and marriage, if possible with dates. I see from here that she was 32 in 2010 so she must have been born around 1967/68. You'll find a snippet from the Brearley Bulletin here. You can probably also find out what she studied at Cornell and when she was there.

The account of her career is rather stereotyped: basically a set of dates and assignments. Try to fill it out with comment from others. I see, for example, there are a number of interviews, etc., where Maronney expands on her views. You could look through these for a more personalized account of her career., , , etc. There's also more herel.

Finally, the article reads a bit like a cv and is over-promotional. Try to present it in a more neutral, biograpical style. But it's coming on quite well so keep at it. She deserves an article.--Ipigott (talk) 15:40, 20 December 2017 (UTC)

Alivecor

Hi BC1278,

I wonder if a better way to write about the topic would be instead to write about the Kardiaband, rather than writing about Alivecor. Some of the references seem to take that approach.

Would you be amenable to that approach?

BakerStMD 17:25, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi user: Bakerstmd. Thanks for writing with your idea. I did think about a separate story for Kardiaband as a possibility at some point. Aside from the research to date, there is significant ongoing clinical research with Mayo, Cleveland Clinic and Columbia that will likely result in more peer reviewed academic articles and additional FDA and EU approvals for the device.

But in this case, Alivecor is not a single product company. Kardia Mobile is still an important product and widely used because it does not require an Apple Watch, just a smart phone. This has been the main product of the company for many years and also has a bunch of clinical research. Kardia Pro, for physicians to monitor multiple patients with devices, works with both Kardia Mobile and KardiaBand.

And while I don't mention this in the article, publications have mentioned that the company may negotiate to license its FDA approved diagnostic AI software to other device makers. I didn't include it yet because of WP:CRYSTAL This is separate from the ECG medical device.

So, this is a multiproduct company and we'd lose too much current and future information if we only wrote about KardiaBand.

There's also the business angle. They hired a well known CEO from Google and a prominent engineering team. And they have financing from well known companies and the Mayo Clinic. All this would be lost without an Alivecor article. The company qualifies as notable separate from KardiaBand press. It had many years of press and peer reviewed academic articles before KardiaBand.

I think that the best short term solution is to place a forward to Alivecor in case anyone searches KardiaBand. And if the research findings on KardiaBand become too involved for the Alivecor article, then someone can consider a separate article.

We might also put the Products section above the History if there is a concern that a patient doing research might not get to the most relevant information quickly enough.

There is already a review going on with another editor, on the Talk page, so I'd suggest consolidating this discussion there. I will copy and paste it. ----BC1278

Hi BC1278, I've reviewed the page, thanks for making the changes - it is now live at Alivecor Adh (talk) 09:00, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

new article on VC personality

Hi there!

Seems fine to me. But you have to be very careful with details since your article is about a living person.

Canvassing

Hey BC1278. User:Domdeparis asked me about this.

Looking at your contribs, that is the only person you notified, and one who is likely to be sympathetic, so this is a violation of WP:CANVASS. I've followed up with a note there; please don't do that anymore. Jytdog (talk) 14:38, 8 June 2018 (UTC)

@Jytdog: It's not canvassing, although I understand why you think it looks as such at first glance. I first checked article history and that user is the only other editor to have made any edits to the article, other than bots, and someone removing a stub notice. If there had been any other contributors, I would have notified them, too.BC1278 (talk) 14:47, 8 June 2018 (UTC)BC1278
So, that was your gut response. I have been asking you to re-think your gut response. Your original request to that particular inexperienced editor was unwise and you know better now; rallying them to the AfD and review of the draft was very unwise. I do hear the argument that this person was the only other major contributor... but that should never have been the case. Jytdog (talk) 14:54, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
@Jytdog:I prepared the note first, to notify everyone, as I said. I intended to do a string of @ for each contributor. If there had been 10, it would have gone to 10. Then I saw there was only one editor, so I modified the note to refer to just them. I should not, however, have made the edit request in the same note. DGG had been willing to just let me make changes in Draft, since this was a significant update under a short time deadline, but this same editor said they objected. It's more sloppy to do the evaluation of the AfD based on only Talk updates, but since the editor deems these additions as controversial, it will have to wait for discussion at the Talk page.BC1278 (talk) 15:35, 8 June 2018 (UTC)BC1278
Right and when you saw there was one, and who that person was, you should have thought again. Your judgement there was poor, which is bad for you and bad for the community. As a paid editor who wants to be a good member of the community (and I appreciate that very much), and as you are under somewhat of a spotlight now (which is unfortunate, but there it is), you need to use excellent judgement. Being a white hat paid editor and not causing drama takes exquisite footwork and that is even more true at the moment.
I have no more to say here, except please be more mindful. Jytdog (talk) 15:43, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
I want to echo Jytdog's message: you are very close to the boundary in this, and in the extent of your advocacy for your position. As far as I can judge it,you are also very close to the limit of the patience of the community; what I can certainly judge is that you have exceeded my own. DGG ( talk ) 07:56, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
