==entry un my userpage==
hi there,
thanks for the generic welcome message. i might be activ in the english wiki so long, bit there's a few time i'm an author in the ] one. so thanks for the explanation of server commands, but actually there's no need of it, cause they are the same ones like in the german wiki. and i never used the commands yet. so what have i done wrong? dont teat me like a noob.
thanks again for the welcome. --] 14:41, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
:sorry for my angry reaction, but i wasn't understanding tht the message was just part of a ceremony (some like this). we could do this in other wikis too. i'll talk to the admin. greez and thanks for explaining me the facts. --] 11:16, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

HOW BOUT YOU DONT TOUCH MY FUCKING PAGE ASSHOLE!!!
I see that you actively help out on Misplaced Pages, that's great! I am asking for your help on the improvement and collaboration of the article ]. ==Spamming==

Sorry if I caused any problems with my "spamming". I did not know this was against the rules. Anyway I was just trying to get the word out because this article needs another POV rather than just from obvious students who use this article as a stage for academic boosterism. We need a wide range of others who can provide a more balanced point of view about the institution, especially because of recent accusations of institutional racism, problems with student riots, and problems with alcohol. These problems are overshadowed by an elitist college riding on a reputation. ] 00:42, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
:Please take a look ], where a vote to prohibit solliciatation of votes in WP:AID failed 7-9. I also disagree with your notion this would constitute ], since the votes on WP:AID are only support votes. And all that counts is the number of editors willing to make a contribution to that article. Canvassing involves support and oppose votes where a decision is reached upon the difference between support and oppose votes. ] 22:44, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
::Indeed, it is a clumsy attempt to draw votes, and this way of asking people to vote should be mildly discouraged. But there are other ways to ask for support. Messages on talk pages of portals or projects for instance. Speedystickd's way would only be disruptive if the targeted editors object to being asked to vote; asking for support on portal or project talk pages is never disruptive. ] 23:00, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

==Happy Misplaced Pages Welcome!==

ClockworkSoul, your page is crazy interesting, I'm glad you are on the welcoming committee, I have been a Wikimember for 5 mins. now and am overwhelmed with the different aspects of this entity. 2 quick questions: How do I delete gibberish in the sandbox (some vulgar writing and an external link which is at: http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Template:Please_leave_this_line_alone_%28emily_luvs_chocolate%29&action=edit ) and what does farc'd article mean? I'm guessing not Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia!! I hate not knowing new abbreviations...or else it's not new and I'm just out of it! Have a great day! ] 04:41, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Since it's your baby i thought i'd comment here, the diagram in ], do you think it needs the colours on the atoms? it is imo distracting, there has been some discussion on this sort of thing in some of the WP:Chemistry articles. You'd never see anything like it in the literature either. Just some thoughts from a chemistry perspective. ] 23:19, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

== Who Broke The Links? ==

While cleaning up the molecular biology project page yesterday, you seem to have accidently broken some links. I tried to work out what was going on and fix it myself but got all confused (and lazy). Could you help? --] (]) 19:19, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

:I managed to pluck up the energy to fix one, although I'm sure there was a second which I'm no longer able to find. Just keep a lookout for links on the project page that don't work anymore. That project is getting some much-needed rejouvenation (can't be bothered to look up spelling) though. --] (]) 20:09, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

== Project Cleanup ==

I've tried to join in the clean up by archiving stuff from the project discussion page to ]. I you agree, I propose that after I've finished the archive, you check it and I delete it and we can always call it back in the very unlikely event that someone want it. Alternatively, we could keep the archive. I've never archived before (aren't there bots for that sort of thing?) so I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm just trying to make that discussion page more usable.

Further, I think it might be an idea to separate the remaining topics of discussion to pages for proposals, announcements, requests for help etc. I think that currently a lack of commuincation might stiffle progress. --] (]) 20:49, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

:Wait, okay, I've changed my mind. I wont delete it. Some people might get upset... --] (]) 21:31, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

I was prodding this when you deleted it, but I think it should be observed that it was most probably not patent nonsense and ought not to have been speedied under G1 (or, for that matter, A1). As ] and ] explain, hoax articles, at least those that are not ''unsalvageably incoherent'', as was this, are not speediable and ought, IMHO, to be ] at AfD or PROD, toward which proposition see, e.g., ]. I don't imagine that G3 would be appropriate here either, even as the text is plainly apropos of a non-existent issue, but that's a discussion to which I don't imagine we need to get, if only because, to be sure, the project is in no way harmed&mdash;indeed, is bettered&mdash;by your having speedied the article. Nevertheless, the temptation to speedy or tag for speedy those articles about the ultimate fate of which one can be eminently sure notwithstanding, it is, IMHO, better, as regards speedy deletion, to err on the side of ] than on the side of ]. Again, no problem here, but it's something about which to think in general, I think ... ] 20:12, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
:Thanks much for your response, which, in view of what I now recognize to have been the haughty tone of the message, wasn't necessary. In any event, you are quite right as regards IAR, etc., and my process wonkery is probably sometimes inconsistent with the broader goals of the project. Thanks for uploading ''']'''. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the ] status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{tl|GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the ]. If you believe the media meets the criteria at ], use a tag such as {{tlp|fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at ]. See ] for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

== Admin question ==

Hi ClockworkSoul!<br/>
I want to ask an admin a question, and your name came to mind (I contributed to the Caffeine article). ] added nonsense to an article, which I reverted twice, so the user swore at me on my user page. I looked at the Admin Noticeboard, and this simple scenario does not seem to meet the requirements for any of the sections: the only "warning" the user received was hardly appropriate (and was given after the edit to my user page, which also was not reverted, if in fact that edit was seen). I refuse in principle to give a no-personal-attacks warning when I'm the one attacked. (Also, it really isn't what I would define as a "personal attack".) All of this, simply to ask: can someone just block the account, or do we have to play games with templates? Thanks, –]&nbsp;] 23:22, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
:: Thank you! I'll go to the noticeboard next time, but the warnings to "post in the right place" kind of turned me away. Cheers, –]&nbsp;] 02:52, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

== Assessment of MCB articles ==
Hi Clockwork, I haven't quite understood the assessment list yet. From what I understood we are supposed to tag MCB-related articles on their talk page if they aren't in the list yet. But are we also supposed to rate their importance and current state ourselves or not? Maybe you have noticed I added a few articles to the list and in those cases I also gave them a rating but I saw some people adding articles to the list and leave the assessment blank. So, what are we supposed to do?
Also, do you use some kind of bot to create the list? Would that mean that adding a tag to the talk page of the corresponding article is enough and from time to time your bot would update the list??

==MCB Page redesign==

Good work on the redesign - I think it now better reflects the mix of cell biology, molecular biology, and protein chemistry that is the main directions that MCB project members are following. While much of my main research focuses onbone, orthopaedics, drugs, etc., I tend to spend most of my edit time fixing up basic cell biology such as ], ], etc.

I think I'll spend the time (when I have it) fxing up the stem cell field a bit more. Many of the articles I looked at recently ] vs ], ], etc. were either stubs or contained incorrect information.

Part of the challenge I think for the Wikiproject (which you will be coordinator for) will be keeping the right level of depth. It is tempting to put in a lot of detail (e.g. recent changes to ]). I have a PhD in biochemistry and molecular genetics, and I find that page heavy going! I reckon the average lay person would find it incomprehensible.

Enough of a rant. Thanks again for making the MCB page less protein-obsessed! ] 07:06, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

== Request for help! ==

Hi Clockwork,

I’m sending this message out to about 4-5 people I’ve worked with here on Misplaced Pages. I've done a few diagrams with/in concjuction with the MCB project. This isn't a blind carbon copy to 1000 people. Sorry its only partially wiki-related...

Basically as you probably know I make a lot of diagrams for use on Misplaced Pages in my spare time while studying a Biochemistry BSc (hons) degree at the University of Sussex in the UK. Next year (in my final year) I’m planning on starting up a medical graphics company. Its been suggested to me more than once that some of my diagrams are as good as, if not better than those presently in research papers and text books, so it seems like a good logical progression (and more so something I enjoy!) to start up a company producing them.

But without a reputation, and as a nameless student work will be stagnant or non-existent. So I’m desperately trying to make a small name for myself and to build a credible reputation as both a scientist and artist. So to cut to the chase what I’m messaging people about is just to say please please please, if you or '''any''' of your colleagues are publishing research articles/text books etc. and need bespoke diagrams please get them in touch, I would be forever grateful! I’m very very happy to do the jobs for free as I enjoy them anyway and the exposure would help me no end! They have nothing to lose, if they don’t like what I produce its not like they paid for it, and are under no obligation to use it. I can’t stress how helpful a diagram in a published work would be for me. I do have a portfolio of generally better work than the pics here on Misplaced Pages, but examples to show colleagues are those such as:

]

Anyway, as always if you need any diagrams done here on Misplaced Pages, I’m an email away! If you do by any chance know of anyone seeking a scientist/artist then please be sure to get them onto me! (My email is nick-daines@hotmail.com). Thanks!

]] 15:08, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

:: Hi Clockwork, thanks so much for your reply. You have no idea just how happy I am to hear that! I'd be absolutely honoured. I'll take a look at whatever images I can find, beg, steal or borrow! The sooner I know what exactly you'd like me to draw the better. It gives us more time for trial and error progressive improvement. Any sketches on A4 paper, scanned, any Microsoft Paint musings etc. are all helpful! Again thanks so much clockwork. Any future correspondance regarding it may be more rapid through my email which is above. Ta ]] 18:46, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

== Asian giant hornet ==

Hi, I noticed you added the great wasp (yellowjacket) image to the Asian giant hornet article. To me, it seems to add some confusion:
* it's the only image, so folk will think that's what they look like that
* it's not clearly disambiguated that it's a yellowjacket and not an AGH (pardon abbrev.!)
:either of the two above would fix it.
:I see that the image is up for picture of the day. Be good to fix it before that - a nice pic would be best (none on the German or Polish versions) ] 01:49, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Dear ClockworkSoul, did you read the replies to your latest comments on the NKT talk page? Did you notice the recent changes that were made to the article? In particular the new sentence in the introduction? Did you see the new section about the qualifications (or rather lack of qualifications) Kt66 added? Please believe me when I say I don't mind an article on the NKT that mentions criticism but what is happening here is simply not fair. Would it be possible to delete the current article and ask an administrator to write a new article? Only the administrator should be allowed to edit the article. He could receive advice from the users on the talk page. The article should then be blocked to prevent any further changes. Would such a procedure be possible on WP at all??? Otherwise, I think we should follow Jimmy Wales advice and have no article on the NKT at all rather than one that is a constant battle ground for partisans. Do you have any other ideas? Please think about your responsibility as an WP administrator. Thank you. ] 21:42, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
