I have discussed this before with you and you gave no explanation why the foreign names should be there. |

Hah! Khoikhoi beat me to welcoming you by two minutes! Well, anyway, welcome from me too, and please see my comments on the Talk:Tsakonian language page. :-) Fut.Perf. ☼ 22:47, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
Greek-Turkish placenames
Demonax, do me one favour, please don't start removing foreign placenames. I'm assuming you are a genuine new user, so you might not know, but this field has been one of an inordinate amount of silly revert-warring, so please don't inflame it again. See Misplaced Pages:Naming conventions (Greek and Turkish named places) for starters of what the debate is about. Fut.Perf. ☼ 23:49, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
- I can only repeat my request from yesterday. Other users have been banned in the past over revert-warring on these naming issues, and people might suspect you of being a sockpuppet of theirs, which might get you blocked too.
- On a different note, you might want to consider if you really want your e-mail address on your user page, as it will attract spam very quickly. If you want, I can delete the page for you so you can get rid of it. Fut.Perf. ☼ 14:17, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Why must the Turkish names be on places where there are no Turks? In places where there are, for example Komotini, I have no objection. What should I do to remove them and not get blockaded?
About the e-mail address, it has to be there so people can know to contact me. I replaced the @ with an . I think that solves the spam problem.
- Misplaced Pages is supposed to be run on the basis of consensus - which in this case currently means, a rather delicate equilibrium of checks and balances between "inclusionist" and "exclusionist" opinions on both the Greek and the Turkish side. If you feel strongly that you must change the status quo, then I think the only legitimate way of doing so without risking all-out edit wars again, would be to try and revive that discussion page I quoted, to finally get a true consensus in place.
- It would also help if you could clarify who you are - seeing your familiarity with Wiki technicalities, I strongly doubt you are a new user.
- (As for the e-mail address, I really believe you know how the e-mail technique works. If not: Go to "my preferences" and set your e-mail address to enabled, that way people will be able to reach you without you having to disclose the address.
- Please also check out the Three-reverts rule, in case you haven't already. Fut.Perf. ☼ 15:03, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

- Hi, just saw this on coming back to my computer and was about to say I'd investigate it myself, Glen beat me to it by a second... :) Fut.Perf. ☼ 16:49, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
How it happened
Basically, I was monitoring vandalism within our vandalism channel and it just so happened that at the same time we got hit by a page moving vandal I received the following alerts: (these actually beep me and come up especially in bold... and they came up EXACTLY like this:
- <vpbot> !admin User:Demonax has been reverted 4 times in the last four hours by whitelisted and admin users. Special:Contributions/Demonax Special:Blockip/Demonax
- <vpbot> {#vandalproof} !admin User:Demonax has been reverted 4 times in the last four hours by whitelisted and admin users. Special:Contributions/Demonax Special:Blockip/Demonax
- <vpbot> !admin User:Demonax has been reverted 5 times in the last four hours by whitelisted and admin users. Special:Contributions/Demonax Special:Blockip/Demonax
- <vpbot> {#vandalproof} !admin User:Demonax has been reverted 5 times in the last four hours by whitelisted and admin users. Special:Contributions/Demonax Special:Blockip/Demonax
- <vpbot> !admin User:Demonax has been reverted 6 times in the last four hours by whitelisted and admin users. Special:Contributions/Demonax Special:Blockip/Demonax
- <vpbot> {#vandalproof} !admin User:Demonax has been reverted 6 times in the last four hours by whitelisted and admin users. Special:Contributions/Demonax Special:Blockip/Demonax
- <vpbot> !admin User:Demonax has been reverted 7 times in the last four hours by whitelisted and admin users. Special:Contributions/Demonax Special:Blockip/Demonax
- <vpbot> {#vandalproof} !admin User:Demonax has been reverted 7 times in the last four hours by whitelisted and admin users. Special:Contributions/Demonax Special:Blockip/Demonax
So, I quickly came to your page, saw that there were users, including an administrator warning you about 3RR, looked at your Europe edits - saw the first four were the same; presumed since the bots had said you were being reverted 7 times that this was it and acted - stupidly.
And I sincerely apologise (if I helps I've been blocked accidently too :) - oh, and dont worry about those alerts as they happen all the time in content disputes, to all of us. It was my haste due to a real vandal that I mucked up.
Thanks again Glen 16:59, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
