Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

    Current requests for protection

Place requests for new or upgrading of article protection, upload protection, or create protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

    MapleStory (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection This article has been repeatedly semi-protected in the past due to a history of anonymous vandalism. Vandalism levels have recently risen, with 13 vandal edits in the past 24 hours (only counting obvious vandalism). In addition, many anonymous editors are adding fancruft, some of which might be vandalism - I counted 16 such edits in the past 24 hours. Please restore the article's stability and let registered users contribute in peace. I understand that this article has failed GA twice, and they are trying hard to ensure the third nomination passes. --J.L.W.S. The Special One 03:10, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

    Kent Conrad (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection A large amount of vandalism over the past two weeks, and an abrupt increase in it today - upwards of 20 reverts. The vandalism in some cases has remained on the page for hours, and is not caught quick. The vandalism is similar each time, but is done by many different IP addresses, which makes it impossible to block it out in that fashion. Weatherman90 02:34, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Theory of everything (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection. This page is being edited against consensus repeatedly over the past month by an editor who has been named User:Time Cube Guy (see the user page for history). Time Cube Guy edits anonymously from multiple IPs. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 02:32, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

    Hobo (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection due to IP vandalism, with little to no constructive additions from IPs. -Patstuart 23:52, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Fully protected Vandalism also by users whose accounts are more than 4 days old.--Húsönd 23:57, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Boston College High School (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection. Over the past two weeks there has been a bunch of vandalism on this page by new/unregistered users/ips. It has needed 9 different reverts becuase of this. I would like a semi-protect to stop a habit from forming. -- Caf3623 22:06, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. -- Steel 22:31, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

    Misplaced Pages:Articles for creation/Wizard-Subject (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Requesting semi-protection. Please see Misplaced Pages:Articles for creation/Wizard pages for a list of pages in this suite. Various of these Wizard pages get overwritten fairly regularly by misplaced article submissions. Would it make sense to semi-protect the whole set? --Geniac 21:31, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Declined. While you're right that there's little need for anons to edit those pages, the majority of them are edited once in a blue moon. It's not really worth the hassle going through and protecting all of them, IMO. -- Steel 22:31, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

    Tutankhamun (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection. Since school started in the U.S. (last week of August), there have been about 400 edits, but nearly all of them are useless comments about homosexuality, bisexuality, AIDS, and other juvenile garbage posted by anon users, and the reversion of those edits. The edit summary is becoming useless because it's mostly vandalism and reversions. Canadiana 21:17, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

    Purple (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

The Game (rapper) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Requesting semi-protection for article. There is a lot of false info being put into this article, mostly by anon users and light vandalism. With his album having been released Novemebr 14, it is estimated that the vandalism will continue to rise. Judgeing by the edits made today, it looks like it is already happening. --Ted87 20:48, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

    Jesus (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Requesting semi-protection of the Jesus article for recent vandalism. I have personally reverted 3 vandalisms by unregistered editors to this page in the last 8 hours. Thank you. standonbible 20:43, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

    O.J. Simpson (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

I think it would be a good idea if this page were semi-protected for a little while.

The current page isn't experiencing any problems or edit wars, but here's the thing... There is a two hour interview with Simpson coming up on FOX entitled (I'm not kidding) "If I did it, here's how it happened", and MOST NEWS SOURCES are reporting on it. A lot of trouble could be averted if it were pro-actively semi-protected with a note explaining why to regular editors.

If you don't feel this is necessary, I'm certainly not offended. However, if that is the case, then I suggest that one or two extra admins at least add this page to their watchlist. I know everyone is busy, but an ounce of prevention yada yada....

    Derek Smart (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Hell Comes to Quahog (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Request temporary full protection. Edit war is ongoing regarding Notes and Cultural References sections, with two editors violating the 3RR rule (I think; I'm not sure if the anon editor is in violation, since they just attempt to revert the reverts). –Dvandersluis 16:59, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

    Schizophrenia (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

It was protected on the basis of a single user who repeatedly text-blanks the 'Schizophrenia and violence' section of the page, despite consensus that it should stay, expressed as mediations, RFCs and discussion. The page was protected while the section was removed, really just setting the removal in stone for the time being. The user has not participated in the discussion about the issue. All other parties who have commented have, like on previous occasions, supported the section's inclusion. I propose the page is unprotected, the section restored, and if the section is blanked again, we will refer the user for vandalism. - Vaughan 22:28, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Current requests for significant edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

    Ronald Reagan (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Hi, I would like to add a comment about Mr. Reagan by Archbishop Tutu- " I found it quite nauseating. I think the West, for my part, can go to hell. . . . Your president is the pits as far as blacks are concerned. He sits there like the great, big white chief of old."

This comment is very important as it questions Mr. Reagan's role in propping up the Racist South African Regime through his opposition to sanctions.

Later in 1986, Congress had finally had enough of the carnage to vote for limited sanctions. Reagan vetoed them. Congress overrode the veto. Reagan proceded to put no muscle behind the sanctions. Mandela remained in jail and at least 2,000 political prisoners remained detained without trial.

In describing Reagan as a great American hero this is a major black spot that one should always remember. — Preceding unsigned comment added by User:Schandra.100 (talkcontribs)
