Thanks for the compliments. =) Okay, now if you want to get 250 mainspace edits, I suggest you either do vandal-fighting by patrolling ] and reverting and warning users for vandalism. You can also just pick a group of poorly written articles and expand and rewrite them. Or...you can go to the Misplaced Pages backlogs, and help copyedit, fix up POV issues, etc. Copyediting is usually good practice for new users, so read ] and find some articles to copyedit at ]. All of these are great ways to contribute to Misplaced Pages, and can help you get to 250 mainspace edits quickly. I saw you had a little problem with CrzRussian, dont worry about it, he likes to throw his weight around wiki like he owns the place and its nothing big, I did find it rude what he said though and the funny thing was he is a hypocrite in what he wrote as I've seen him do this many MANY times myself, imho he is the worst admin wiki has at the moment and should be removed. Alas I had to sign out and change my IP because he has been harrasing me a great deal recently, and I would rather not be identified. My advice is stay out of his way, he cant handle what little power he has in life and will abuse it, I wouldnt like to see a good admin get problems from him. Congrats on becoming an admin, from your history you look like you'll make a good contribution to the site :) G'luck in the future and messaging me on this IP is pointless as its about to change :P Just wanted to let you know the situation. | |||

Welcome! I don't have much to say...
Due to the way this is set up, everything gets newer as it goes down. For some odd reason, you'll see the oldest stuff first. Enjoy!! Ardo 04:47, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Can anyone help me as ho HOW the article Calgary Science School needs to be cleaned up??
- Hello, first let me say the tagging of the article you wrote isn't meant as something mean to you or even necessarily a message for you to fix it. It's a way we tag things so that people who want to format articles can find the ones that need to be formatted. I have added the tag back to the article. Having that tag on it just puts it on a list for people in the cleanup project :)
- If you would like to fix it up yourself that would be great too, the two pages I would suggest reading for help with it are Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style and Misplaced Pages:Neutral point of view. Remember this isn't an essay but an encyclopedia, so we are ideally only looking for factual information presented from a very neutral point of view. The manual of style is very helpful, but one of the best ways to learn about good formatting is to look at a few of our featured articles and see what formatting standards they implement.
- Hope that answered your question, if not feel free to update it either on my talk page or on the newcomers page where you listed your original question. - cohesion★talk 03:35, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
I have Cleaned up and added to Calgary science school and removed the Cleanup tag. Please message me here if you still think this page needs to be cleaned up. Ardo191 00:59, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Css.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Css.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Misplaced Pages because of copyright law (see Misplaced Pages's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Misplaced Pages are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.
CSS.jpg is copyright Calgary Science School 2003. Can we still use it?

A word of advice
If you want a page protected, please go to Misplaced Pages:Requests for page protection, not Misplaced Pages:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Scobell302 04:27, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Please don't add the {{sprotected}} tag to articles that are not semi-protected, as you did to Bill Gates. Adding the tag does not change the protection status of an article but it does mislead editors. Thanks, Gwernol 17:54, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Deleted page
I'm not quite sure what article you are referring to. Perhaphs you have the wrong admin. My deletion log doesn't really show that page. Pepsidrinka 02:04, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm. So I guess I *did* delete it; way back in April. Here is the log. I don't think I would be a good idea for me to tell you who created the page. Nothing personal, I just don't see the need to do so. Pepsidrinka 23:49, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- FYI, the person who created the page used a throwaway account, so IMO, it won't really help much anyhow. And the editor hasn't edited in quite some time. Pepsidrinka 19:27, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

The link I added was a reference supporting my statement on the diversity of Newham, the Index of Multiple Deprivation is a government document detailing this, how is this irrelevent or worthy of reversion? 84.43.49.23 02:42, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
As this was a reference to a governmental source to substantiate a claim, please suggest what better way I could have achieved this than to link directly to the government source in question. This was hardly a link to a business, fansite etc. JamJar 02:55, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
I've reverted the changes, but removed the link, instead linking to the wiki article referenced above. I'm not John Prescott, nor for that matter do I have any other involvement in the Department for Communities and Local Government. Hopefully this is satisfactory JamJar 03:20, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Svilena Kidess article
Hm, married actress.. lives with her hubby and two children...isn't it more important that she was a celebrity in her country, who is pursuing an acting career in Hollywood!...Ok, I'd love some help. I would like to add a link to www.svilenakidess.com as well as a picture of Svilena Kidess. May be even links to the webpages of the movies in the Filmography part. So how do I do all that? Thank you Ardo.
Re: Vince shah
It's my understanding that warning a user of a speedy delete may be appreciated in some cases, but it isn't necessary all the time. The difference between speedying a page and the more deliberative prod and AfD procedures is that speedy deletion is reserved for pages which are obviously and blatantly inappropriate for Misplaced Pages. Most of the pages I speedy tag are their author's sole contribution. In such cases, I think it's safe to assume 1)that the author doesn't particularly care about the quality of wikipedia and 2)that the author is aware that their page is not appropriate, and is probably aware that it will soon be deleted. When there is a significant chance an author might become a serious contributor, and failing to notify them of a speedy deletion might alienate them from Misplaced Pages, I notify them. Generally, however, I feel such notifications are a waste of time for the sake of politeness that is unlikely to be appreciated. If you feel differently, however, by all means notify users of speedy tags. Cheers, —Swpb 20:05, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
nowiki tag
Another note - when you refer to a template, as you did on my talk page, rather than actually using it, you might want to put the template inside nowiki tags, so that it appears as {{db-bio}}. This will keep the talk page from appearing on automatically generated lists of pages transcluding that template. I would prefer not to have my talk page speedied ;) —Swpb 20:14, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Keith Rowlands
Can I ask you review your addition of the db-bio tag on the Keith Rowlands article. I could agree with the tag for the pretty awful holding text the originator put up, but the article has significantly improved. Thank You! Rgds, - Trident13 20:21, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
DB Blanked
Just fyi, when someone creates a article that was marked with a db-speedy, if he/she blanks the entire page (not just the speedy tag but everything) we generally mark it wiht {{db-blanked}}. Just wanted to give you a heads up. :) -WarthogDemon 02:36, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
Alexander Litvinenko
Please consider removing the tag you placed on this article, for the reasons I have stated on the talk page. This possible poisoning in a London restaurant (claimed to have been done by the Russian government against a critic who is notable even without this controversy) is a very big deal with regard to foreign relations, and could cause quite a bit of trouble for Putin, depending on what Scotland Yard turns up. This is a major deal, and a search on google news shows many links to articles - shown on the BBC to the Drudge Report and beyond. Tuviya 03:14, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
Speedy-tagging of Elizabeth B. Lacy, Justice
This article is admittedly awkwardly titled, but clearly not a speedy. The version you tagged plainly asserted notability, and the first female Supreme Court justice of a US state more than meets the threshold of notability. Please be more careful before speedy-tagging biographical articles. Opabinia regalis 04:22, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
WARNING
Dear Ardo: Edits such as this one are ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. By tagging newbies' articles for speedy deletion within seconds of creation you are harassing legitimate users inviolation of common courtesy and WP:BITE. You are thus disrupting this project. If I catch you violating BITE again, I will block you. This is your only warning. - crz crztalk 05:07, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- I can aso add that if you want to avoid problems like these, you can simply follow this rule: If you're not real sure if an article should be tagged, don't tag it. If it's something that should be tagged and you don't tag it, someone else will. All of us editors work together. Oh, and if anyone gets on you at first, just tell them "Hey! I'm new here!" It's hard to learn the ropes. (Heck my first honest-to-goodness edit on a wiki accidentally defaced the article...) Good luck! :) -WarthogDemon 07:42, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
