Thomas Begley was a Volunteer of the IRA from the Ardoyne in Belfast. Begley was killed by his own bomb in the Shankill Road bombing of 1993, which killed nine other people. Begley was 23 years old when he died.

Funeral

The funeral of Volunteer Begley caused some controversy when the Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams was heavily criticised by Unionist leader for carrying Begley's coffin.
