Revision as of 21:38, 1 December 2006
- The next elections to the Arbitration Committee will start on 4 December 2006 and will run for 2 weeks.
- Self-nominations will be accepted up to 1 December 2006.
- In order to vote you will be required to have had an account registered before 1 October, 2006 and 150 edits on en.wikipedia at the start of the vote.
- In order to run you will need to have 1000 edits on en.wikipedia as of 1 October, 2006.
- Candidates will provide a brief (fewer than 400 words) statement although they will be free to link to a longer statement if they wish.
- At this time the number of seats that will be up for election is unknown but will probably be at least 5, to fill Tranche Gamma whose duties expire on 31 December 2006. Newly appointed Committee members are likely to be given three-year terms until 31 December 2009.
- Candidate statements will be accepted from 1 October at Misplaced Pages:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2006/Candidate statements.
- Jimbo favours running the elections in the same way that they were run last year, that is:
- All candidates with more 'support' votes than 'oppose' votes were eligible for the ArbCom. If there are more approvals than seats available, Jimbo will either expand the size of the committee or choose among the community approved candidates. Jimbo appointed candidates mostly in the order of the percentage of approval in the community.
