'''Moff Jerjerrod''' is a fictional character in the '']'' ], appearing in '']''. He is portrayed by ].

==In ''Return of the Jedi''==
Jerjerrod is first introduced in ''Return of the Jedi'' as commanding officer of the second ], and immediate subordinate of ]. Prior to that command, he was the ] of the Quanta sector, and suffered great indignity when his home on Tinnel IV was robbed.{{fact}}

In order to prevent ] ] from finding out about the second Death Star too early, Jerjerrod is promoted to the director of Imperial Energy Systems, a new department formed to develop portable ]s for ] relief.

When the Death Star's shields fall, Jerjerrod, acting on orders given to him by Emperor ], orders the ] to turn and fire on the sanctuary moon of ]. Jerjerrod stays behind while the rest of the Imperials evacuate the station. He dies when the Death Star's ] is destroyed before the station can complete its final task.

A ] in ''Return of the Jedi'' has Jerjerrod suffering Vader's infamous ] technique at one point. In this lost scene, he and two ] refuse to let Vader in to see the Emperor, prompting Vader to use the Force to strangle (but not kill) Jerjerrod.

Moff Jerjerrod was intended to have worn the updated Moff rank badge. Due to a costume problem, however, all the Imperial characters in ''Return of the Jedi'' were shown wearing Navy Commander badges.{{fact}}

==Behind the scenes==
Jerjerrod was originally a more complex character. The novelization of ''Return of the Jedi'' implies that he is a ] who derives an inflated sense of his own power from brutalizing the Rebel Alliance. In earlier drafts, Jerjerrod is a full-fledged Grand Moff, the ''Star Wars'' universe's equivalent to a governor, and far more powerful than he is in the finished movie.

He was originally characterized as an annoyingly smug and obnoxious ] whom Darth Vader loathes. The screenplay had Jerjerrod arriving on the ''Executor'' as the Emperor's personal emissary. Vader greets him as "my lord", while ] and the Star Captains kneel before him. Vader and Jerjerrod, however, quickly get into a heated argument. Jerjerrod ridicules Vader's failure to turn ] to the ], and proceeded to openly insult the ].

Later in the script, it is revealed that the Emperor and Jerjerrod had conspired to turn Luke without Vader's knowledge. Upon finding out about this plot, Vader kills Jerjerrod.
