==History==
The bot was created by Christopher Breneman and Cobi Carter in 2010. It shares very little in relationship to the original ClueBot, except its name and how they interface with Misplaced Pages. NG stands for Next Generation.<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://www.theverge.com/2014/2/18/5412636/this-machine-kills-trolls-how-wikipedia-robots-snuff-out-vandalism|title=This machine kills trolls|date=2014-02-18|website=The Verge|access-date=2017-04-11}}</ref> Since its inception, it has made over three million edits.<ref>{{Cite journal|date=2017-04-11|title=User talk:ClueBot Commons|url=https://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=User_talk:ClueBot_Commons&oldid=774955110|journal=Misplaced Pages|language=en}}</ref> The allowable rate of mistakes is called the false positive rate. Some have called it "rubbish", and tried to have the bot shut down.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.facebook.com/PetitionToGetRidOfCluebotNgWikipedia/|title=Security Check Required|website=www.facebook.com|access-date=2017-04-11}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.quora.com/How-does-Wikipedias-content-review-bot-ClueBot-NG-review-Misplaced Pages-pages-and-validate-their-facts|title=How does Misplaced Pages's content review bot ClueBot NG review Misplaced Pages pages and validate their facts? - Quora|website=www.quora.com|access-date=2017-04-11}}</ref><ref>{{Cite news|url=http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/bots-edit-wikipedia-humans-made/|title=The Bots Who Edit Misplaced Pages (And The Humans Who Made Them)|work=MakeUseOf|access-date=2017-04-11}}</ref>
