I have left Misplaced Pages because intentionally or unintentionally many junior admins have been part of a plot against me orchestrated by Kelly Martin and James Forrester, and one or two of their admirers. This arose initially when I started to complain that too many admins wrote too little content. Basically it hit a raw nerve, and a campaign to rid Misplaced Pages of me has grown as a result as I have attempted to expose what has been going on behind the scenes.
The prolonged and consistent baiting followed by blocking (often openly arranged on the IRC admin channel) and now the pre-judged and instant arbcom case - (just look at the names - not only is it probably against wiki-laws, as an involved party Forrester should be recused). Bauder on this very page states Martin is gone off IRC - a blatent lie. She has even contradicted him on his own page in the last few hours. These factors of the last few days have been the final straw which has led me to believe that not only do I not have a future at Misplaced Pages, but that Misplaced Pages cannot truly be a standard of excellence while it is ruled by a clique in secret, ultimately the blame must fall on Jimbo who allows these things to happen. If he is not aware what is going on, then he is failing in his job too. Perhaps too many have lost sight of what should be the project's ultimate goals. If Jimbo is now finally aware, perhaps he will be minded to see these events as a wake-up call.
If one works for a company where moral is low, the management bullying and corrupt - one leaves, so that is exactly what I have done. I would like to wish the project luck, but that luck largely depends on the ordinary editors, and they can only flourish in the right environment, where they are encouraged and above all valued. So I wish them luck - those that write the encyclopedia. May things change for them. Giano 11:05, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Re: Too late
Sorry I couldn't do more to settle things down. For what it's worth, you will be missed, and thank you for your great many helpful contributions to the project. I won't ask you to stay, as that seems to be your decision to make, but I would like to say that I consider the door open; I would welcome you back. (If you'd rather keep your talk blank, no problem, just wanted to get this out to you.) Regretfully, but wishing you the best, Luna Santin 01:34, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Even if I am someone that has not crossed paths with you, I still want to repeat what Luna has already said. You will be missed. Take good care. Hope to see you return some day. – Elisson • T • C • 01:48, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, same here. The project has, of course, benefited from your work, and many will be sorry to see you go. Goodbye, and enjoy yourself – Gurch 12:54, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Kelly
Kelly is gone, and utterly without influence with the Arbitration Committee. Fred Bauder 01:35, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Liar! Giano
I'm not a liar. She's off the committee, off the mailing list, and off the IRC channel. In case you never noticed, she doesn't like me much either. Fred Bauder 01:50, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- She sure does the rest, perhaps I may post the famous logs before I go. Now I'm out of here in a moment, and I'd really like you and your fantasies off my page.Giano 01:53, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- It has been pointed out to me that my statement above about the IRC channel is ambiguous. She is off the arbitration IRC channel, but is very active on the administrative channel, perhaps too active. I am very seldom on that channel, as I am unable to follow the conversation when I am working. Perhaps I don't understand the dynamics which occur there. I do think you play a role in these troubles, just as Kelly Martin played a role in her troubles. Simply put, you're trying to throw your weight around and being pretty nasty to other users. I really haven't followed your editing work, but many say it is good. I would like you to continue, but to do so, you will have to play a role in being nicer to people and not being so paranoid. If you are constantly attacking, others will attack you, and it just snowballs. We can't stop that dynamic without you helping us along. You might start with a few apologies. I'll do everything I can to help you, if you would make a start. Fred Bauder 15:04, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

The WP political model
I (mostly) like WP as an encyclopedia and, as a principled anti-authoritarian, I like its potential as a political model... in theory. But the political practice is another matter altogether, as evidenced by the second (that I know of) cascade of events upon you. I have enjoyed and learnt from many of the articles you've written or substantially contributed to, I have read a small number of your comments on various matters - some regarding articles, others addressing WP itself - and it's plain that you have WP's interests at heart, so plain, the fact seems lost on some people. I wish WP operated in a transparent manner - it doesn't and, in its present incarnation, can't. i wish things hadn't gone as they have. I wish you well and look forward to your return, if you change your mind in the future. Pinkville 02:27, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Logs
