The '''Persian Empire''' is a term used to refer to several empires in the ] of ], which was previously known as Persia.

The term is mostly used to refer to the ] (550 BC–330 BC) and the ] (224–651 AD), empires whose dynasties originated in the region of Persis (now ]).
