Copying within Misplaced Pages requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. It appears that you copied or moved text from Culture and menstruation into Women in Sikhism. While you are welcome to re-use Misplaced Pages's content, here or elsewhere, Misplaced Pages's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Misplaced Pages, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from ]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 14:27, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

Hello My name Ahmed okay so i have checked the references and There is no citation that mughal forces hindus to convert their religion. I have checked referenced 4,5,6 and nowhere it states that there was forced conversion. Now coming to clearance please check this — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ahmedfalah7711 (talkcontribs) 09:57, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

Recent edit reversion

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.S Philbrick(Talk) 15:49, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to 2020 coronavirus lockdown in India, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dey subrata (talk) 07:54, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello. In the source cited, it is no where written that devotees, who assembled at the temples, attacked police. What is written is when police tried to stop people from assembling at tea stall then they were attacked. Quoting the exact line:

Meanwhile, several police personnel were attacked and their vehicles were ransacked by locals in Goaltore area of West Midnpore for stopping them to assemble at a tea stall, a senior officer of the district police said.

Whereas the language of the wikipedia article suggests that devotees attacked the police. That is why I removed the attack part of line. Jasksingh (talk) 08:23, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
Then you need to include the latter information too, at the end of that line. I've reverted just checking if there was any attack on police. Now seeing its different incident, you can remove the information from that line but need to add another line of the attack. Also a request from my side, include the today's incident of Patiala too, in this article and also at the main article at appropriate section. Dey subrata (talk) 16:06, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
OK. Please be careful in future before reverting any change. Jasksingh (talk) 13:42, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
Please be careful when you remove something without properly addressing a topic, and FYI, I had already asked you to go through policies and guidelines, had you read before, you should not have mentioned the above unnecessary comment, go though WP:BRD by heart. Dey subrata (talk) 16:11, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
I was careful in my initial change. That is why I gave the following descriptive reason when I made the initial change:

In the news report cited, it is nowhere mentioned that devotees attacked the police. So, removing it.

The above edit summary was self explanatory. But, still you reverted my change without applying the principle of WP:BRD which says "Revert only when neccessary" (I suppose it applies to you as much as to me). Although I do appreciate that you reached out to me on my talk page. But, in any case, have some humility to accept if you have made a mistake.

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
Hi Jasksingh, I like the page on Sheikh Farid Ganjshakar which I think you have mainly contributed to. However, I would like to get hold of the 1995 article by Prof. Omer Tarin which (I think) you added as a reference. I was not able to get hold of it even after writing to his staff, as they no longer have his papers from before 2000. Do you know how I can read this article? (Sorry, I am new to writing on Misplaced Pages so I may not be using the messaging facility properly.) Thanks a lot. Kalpya (talk) 20:59, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Stop edit warring on Hinduism and Sikhism. You had almost a month to address your problematic edits on the article but all you did was say "regarding your claim that sources referenced by me are not comparing both the religions then I would say it goes the same with the version of the article" thus admitting that my concerns about your edits are completely correct. But now you have started to edit war, in order to obstruct any constructive changes and misrepresent sources on the talk page by ignoring the very page number which was cited on the article, falsely accuse me of failing to address your non-policy complaint issue and more.

You have been already warned about your editing before, but now if you attempted to intentionally misrepresent sources or demonstrated your article ownership in violation of WP:OWN, then I will need to report you. Azuredivay (talk) 04:34, 11 July 2020 (UTC)

Ok, I have replied you on Hinduism and Sikhism talk page. But, the edits that you are calling as "constructive" and the version that you are calling as "last good version" is also having many sections without sources comparing both religions. Also, some of the "constructive edits" that you are talking about are having citation errors. I have always been willing to address any concerns regarding my edits. That is why I removed primary source of Guru Granth Sahib and also many unreliable sources from my the sections that I added. But, it seems like you are only interested in raising concerns about others' edits but not address concerns raised about your own edits. So, if you continue making and supporting edits with a particular point of view ignoring WP:NPOV then before you report me, I will need to report you. Jasksingh (talk) 07:58, 11 July 2020 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages and copyright

Control copyright icon Hello Jasksingh, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. Your additions to Hinduism and Sikhism have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Misplaced Pages:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Misplaced Pages, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 19:53, 2 August 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Misplaced Pages, as you did at Shambuka. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Wareon (talk) 04:22, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Read WP:FRINGE and don't push a view as mainstream that is contradicted by scholars. Wareon (talk) 04:23, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
You haven't pointed any particular edit of mine which you found to be disruptive. But, I suppose it is the edit where I stressed on mentioning the "Shambuka story as interpolation" as view of most scholars rather than a fact. It is clear that I am not trying to push any view leave alone pushing that view as mainstream. Instead, I just want to make sure that opinions should not be presented as facts in accordance with WP:NPOV. So, your accusation is completely misplaced. December 2020

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Misplaced Pages, as you did at Shambuka, you may be blocked from editing. You are doing same WP:DE for which you have been warned above. Wareon (talk) 02:28, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

The majority view of "scholars" is treated as a fact on Misplaced Pages. Since scholarly sources are of highest quality.
But if you are still finding it difficult to understand then read this: "by now, it can be confirmly said the 'Uttarkand' of Ramayana is an interpolation of quite later period"
So why we shouldn't treat it as a 'fact'? Wareon (talk) 02:40, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
