I've nominated this for Good Article for hopes of feedback and getting some recognition for it. The peer review didn't generate any user feedback aside from automated feedback. I would pass this as a good article but it has two major problems: (1) The second lead paragraph is totally POV. ] (2) The "Influence" section in only one paragraph, and really should be merged with the Early Years section, since it is expansion (and retread) or that topic.--] 18:04, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

==date format==
according to the manual of style the birthdate should be in () like:
*Serena Williams (born September 26, 1981)
Course it's pretty dorky to read:
*Sasha, born Alexander Coe (born September 4, 1969), is a Welsh DJ
What about:
*Alexander Coe (AKA Sasha) (born September 4, 1969), is a Welsh DJ

I think the way it is written now would imply Sasha is his legal name which I don't think you've indicated, and is it more normally dj sasha or just sasha? The disambigulation page implies dj sasha.

BTW amazing work with the article so far. thanks. --] 19:00, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

*Hmm, well, ] is a common nickname or a "diminutive version" of "Alexander", so I think Esprit15d's change to

:Alexander "Sasha" Coe (born September 4, 1969)

is consistent with nicknames (I've never read anything that's lead me to believe he actually ''legally'' changed his name. Most often in articles I've read, CDs/records, and such, he is almost always referred to as "Sasha" as opposed to "DJ Sasha". I don't think any of his mix album covers/credits have ever called him "DJ Sasha". As a side note, over the past ten years or so, prefacing your name/artist name with "DJ" has become a bit ]. ] 20:00, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

This older FA on a living person has not been reviewed since its promotion in 2007.
The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic ], and <font color="red">may or may not be accurate</font> for the article in question.
*The article does not comprehensively cover the artist's work that came out after the article's promotion (there are only single-mentions of '']'', '']'' and '']'' in the article. There is coverage out there of these works).<br>
*<s>Per ], there should be a non-breaking space - <code>&amp;nbsp;</code> between a number and the unit of measurement. For example, instead of ''18mm'', use ''18&nbsp;mm'', which when you are editing the page, should look like: <tt>18&amp;nbsp;mm</tt>.<ref name="nbsp">See footnote</ref></s>
*The article is also very dated for a BLP-FA:

*<s>Watch for ] that make the article too wordy instead of being crisp and concise. (You may wish to try Tony1's ].)</s>
:*{{tq|These tracks...are edited by Sasha}} - 2006 source;
**<s>While additive terms like “also”, “in addition”, “additionally”, “moreover”, and “furthermore” may sometimes be useful, overusing them when they aren't necessary can instead detract from the brilliancy of the article. This article has 15 additive terms, a bit too much.</s>

*JAMES ZABIELA INFLUENCED KIMBALL COLLINS? *Yes, I did write it after reading a few books. And online articles. And listening to Sasha's music for the past 10 years. I did fix the line in question - I can see how it was misleading. Collins was clearly popular before any influence from Sasha, which is why Collins is described as "already popular". As for whether or not Sasha in fact had an influence on Collins, I suggest you take that up with Bill Brewster, who wrote the book I got that from. ] 16:27, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Good job cleaning this up and making it accessible to a general audience. I learned a lot about Sasha and electronic dance music just by reading the article and wound up wanting to listen to some of his music. I'd love to see it featured on the main page some time. ] 19:17, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
*Thank you for your kind words! Do you still object on the FAC? ] 20:15, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
**No, I don't at this point. It's already better than some articles that have recently been on the front page. However, if it appears I still object, because I didn't strike through the correct line, feel free to correct via strike throughs on the FAC page as needed. You still have some work to do, I will post comments, but I enjoyed the article, it's well-written, it's researched properly, it's neutral, the language is rich, the topic is the right scope for an article, and, most amazing! and proper!, you quoted words and phrases that you used from other sources, absolutely necessary, but not always properly done in a lot of Misplaced Pages articles. ] 20:24, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

FA in need of review

This older FA on a living person has not been reviewed since its promotion in 2007.

  • The article does not comprehensively cover the artist's work that came out after the article's promotion (there are only single-mentions of Invol2ver, Involv3r and Scene Delete in the article. There is coverage out there of these works).
  • The article is also very dated for a BLP-FA:
  • now regularly receives - 2006 source;
  • These tracks...are edited by Sasha - 2006 source;
  • Sasha runs a music studio and lives in New York City, and maintains a house in London. - 2004 source
  • Sasha attributes his success to his technical skill and ability to "connect with his dancers". - 2000 source. --> In a 2000 interview, Sasha attributed...
  • There are so few links dated after 2008 in the article, you'd think the artist retired a decade ago. From a Google search:

Comment

The date of birth needs a proper reference. Allmusic, Discogs, etc, aren't generally considered reliable sources. Deb (talk) 10:12, 21 November 2021 (UTC)

Hatfield College

"Sasha passed the entrance exam for Hatfield College at age 17. However, he did not like Epsom and left before completing his A-Level examinations."

Problems: The source doesn't mention Hatfield College or Epsom: it says he moved to Maidenhead age 11 and back to Wales age 17. There is no Hatfield College in Epsom. There was a "Hatfield Technical College"/"Hatfield College of Technology" until 1969 at Hatfield in Hertfordshire, a long way from either Epsom or Maidenhead, and Hatfield College, Durham is part of the university.

So this couple of sentences doesn't really make any sense as far as I can see. PamD 15:15, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
