Hello, your disruptive reversion of information added to the WKAQ-TV page is unfounded and inexplicable. All the information added was properly sorted and actualized to reflect what the station looks like in 2021 rather than the outdated information it had from over a decade ago. I see you take it upon yourself to inexplicably mess with small tv station pages but if you can't find any fault in the information provided (again it was all properly cited and referenced, you should verify them before deleting information) then please stop vandalizing the page and removing information. *{{replyto|Mvcg66b3r}} Doesn't make the information provided any less true. If you think there's a better way to convey the information then fix it that's what we're here to do, erasing the information all together does a disservice to the page. I provided factual data about the station in question if you think you can word it better please be my guest but keeping the 10 year old outdated information and deleting updates just cause you don't like how they're written is far less helpful than a sloppy edit.

Just hoping you can provide a bit more explanation beyond "unconstructive" – I've been around for a minute, and radio and television station articles are pretty much my sole area of focus. The PSIP link following the virtual channel has been standard ever since the digital transition, just like how VHF or UHF are included after the analog or digital channel number. If there's been a change in that approach, I haven't seen any discussion of it, and I certainly haven't seen it applied consistently across TV station articles. However, I'm always open to learning, so if there's something out there I've missed, I'd love to be pointed in the right direction. ] (]) 22:08, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

== Question ==

We as an Alaskan communities Added a few more stuff including a website and a picture for KTVA but it all got changed. We don’t mean any harm for KTVA we just want the information to be correct as there is valuable information and pictures that are missing from the first big box with the television info. We are a group that is trying our best to fix errors like this. Unfortunately we can’t do that if you continue changing the information that we are providing to make the information for KTVA and other Alaska news stations more understandable. We don’t mean to be vandalizing the Alaska news stations Misplaced Pages page. We just want to fix errors and add valuable information to these news stations even if that means they are not sisters stations or translators at the moment. We want people to know information like this and don’t want to cause any harm. ] (]) 20:16, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Mvcg66b3r

We don’t appreciate that your not taking the time to look at the information we added. You are the problem and you are changing things that you don’t like. We as Alaskans are trying to fix your mess and make Misplaced Pages a better place. We know what KTVA is we know Who Founded it. Those of use who have lived in Alaska for years knows that your people don’t know the true story of KTVA. We know The true story of KTVA. KTVA is a vary important Television station to us Alaskans. You have no idea how much we know about KTVA compared to you. We have learned more about KTVa by watching them on every news cast. So don’t tell us that we are vandalizing Misplaced Pages. We are fixing your mess. There is stuff disappearing from left to right and your people are deleting our edits for KTVA. Stop 🛑. Now wonder we hear our friends talking about your people. ] (]) 22:17, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

:{{replyto|Idahocool30}} You are spamming the article with patent nonsense. And why do you have the nerve to attack "my people" ? ] (]) 22:20, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Mvcg66b3r,

Listen we don’t want to attack your people. We just want you to understand that we have more of a better knowledge then you and most of your people do. Unlike us you do have a good thinking, but what you are removing from pictures to a few edits is not cool. We want the stuff on Ktva to stand out and tell people how important Ktva was to us Alaskans. We are just telling you and most of your people that you are taking a step to far. Your not looking at the edits that we’ve made. Once we make a few edits and add pictures back you get rid of them. We don’t want to. Cause end problems we want to help but you and your people need to let us help. We know a lot of you are in the lower 48 editing KTVA, just because we live in Alaska and you live somewhere else doesn’t mean you have all the rights to remove our edits. You may know about parts of KTVA but we now just a little more on KTVA then you do. So let us help. We promise we wouldn’t be doing this if it didn’t work. We are and will strive to help but you and your people need to give us that opportunity to help fix Ktva and other Alaska news stations. ] (]) 22:31, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

File:WMFD TV 68.png

Simple outline maps of countries, states, counties, cities, etc. like the one in File:WMFD TV 68.png are generally not considered creative enough to be eligible for copyright protection per c:COM:TOO US, and there are plenty of examples to be found in c:Category:Maps of Ohio and c:Category:Maps of the United States in logos; however, also proposing the file be deleted for poor quality is a different matter which is why I'm not going to deprod the file. If someone else, however, deprods the file, you'll need to bring it up for discussion at WP:FFD if you still feel it needs to be deleted or needs to be treated as non-free. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:13, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

File:WMFD logo 2024.jpg doesn't, in my opinion, need to be licensed as non-free; however, this can be discussed at WP:MCQ or WP:FFD if you feel otherwise. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:16, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

KSMQ and other stuff

Hi, I’m coming at you to say that I’m new to editing and don’t how to properly fix things yet. Also, the date I always see for the launch of KSMQ-TV is September 25, 1972, not December 1971. Alo8000 (talk) 22:36, 27 November 2024 (UTC) Alo8000 (talk) 22:38, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Alo8000, I'm actually a little surprised. This year, we got the Austin Daily Herald in newspapers.com, so I went to look at the actual start date. My guess for first day of programming—not first day of a broadcast signal—is October 17, 1972 (). This article is direly thin and needs referencing, but I want to wait until the Rochester Post-Bulletin is loaded in full in hopes that it will have additional coverage (this is in progress). Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 04:01, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
I have found something further on this. The error is KSMQ's and dates to their late 2000s website, which gives a December 1971 start date. That station history also has the call sign year change to KSMQ incorrect (it happened in 1984, not 1985). You did, at least, prompt me to blow up and overhaul the whole article even before we got all Rochester paper. They won't be making mistakes like that again. Thanks for the post-merge cleanup at WDGA-CD. Re this, I know next to nothing about the topic but is this not now physically at channel 30? -- Euryalus (talk) 00:48, 15 December 2024 (UTC)

@Euryalus (talk page stalker) We now list virtual channels in the first sentence, as they are the primary branding and recognition device, with the physical channel listed first in the infobox. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 01:23, 15 December 2024 (UTC)

User:Wamalotpark

@Sammi Brie: could you please explain to @Wamalotpark: that the unpiped links in the leads of San Diego TV station articles are just fine? I want to maintain consistency, while they want to do it their way. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 03:28, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

Actually, they are in the right if you read GEOLINK. San Diego is one of those special cities that doesn't take a state name in article (see "Major cities" in MOS:USPLACE). Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 16:42, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
