How to add to the community bulletin board

The community bulletin board has 2 sections that can be used by Wikipedians for announcements: "Events and projects" and "WikiProject notices". In general, keep it concise (under 2 lines), refrain from fancy formatting, and new entries should be placed at the top of their section.

Before editing, make sure you are on Misplaced Pages:Community bulletin board, not Misplaced Pages:Community portal, where the board is transcluded.
Events and projects: In this section, only organized events, projects, and/or competitions should be listed. These are organized by how often they occur:
- The Yearly section is for uncommon events, like events that only occur every year, once, or irregularly. The Monthly section is for events that occur each month, or are always ongoing.
WikiProject notices: In this section, any announcement, request for help or other notice from a WikiProject should be listed here.
- Entries should be signed, and ordered from newest to oldest.
- Entries are to be removed after a period of 6 months.

Welcome to the community bulletin board, which is a page used for announcements from WikiProjects and other groups. Included here are coordinated efforts, events, projects, and other general announcements.

Yearly or infrequent events

The 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest is an editing competition with a focus towards developing countries. It will begin on July 1st and signups will close on July 15th. Sign up now!
Want to help good articles get better? Sign up for the October Good Article backlog drive! New and experienced reviewers welcome.

Monthly or continuous events

Monthly contest, WikiProject Military history. The contest department of the Military history WikiProject aims to motivate increased quality in military history articles by offering a form of friendly competition for project members making improvements to them. The primary contest available is a simple rolling competition that awards points for improving articles. The contest runs from the first to last day of each month.
Guild of Copy Editors' editing drive. The January 2025 backlog drive is a one-month-long effort by the Guild of Copy Editors to reduce the backlog of articles that require copy editing: those carrying the {{copy edit}} tag (also {{awkward}}, {{copy edit section}}, {{inappropriate person}}, and {{copy edit inline}}, and their redirects) or are listed on the GOCE Requests page. It will begin on 1 January, 00:00 (UTC), and end on 31 January, 23:59 (UTC).

Updates for editors

Users of the iOS Misplaced Pages App in Italy and Mexico on the Italian, Spanish, and English Wikipedias, can see a personalized Year in Review with insights based on their reading and editing history.
Users of the Android Misplaced Pages App in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia can see the new Rabbit Holes feature. This feature shows a suggested search term in the Search bar based on the current article being viewed, and a suggested reading list generated from the user’s last two visited articles.
The global reminder bot is now active and running on nearly 800 wikis. This service reminds most users holding temporary rights when they are about to expire, so that they can renew should they want to. See the technical details page for more information.
The next issue of Tech News will be sent out on 13 January 2025 because of the end of year holidays. Thank you to all of the translators, and people who submitted content or feedback, this year.
View all 27 community-submitted tasks that were resolved last week. For example, a bug was fixed in the Android Misplaced Pages App which had caused translatable SVG images to show the wrong language when they were tapped.
