Hi, long time no see (talk?). I just saw that you updated the article on El Fronton with a picture you say you took. I've long thought that it would be cool to check out the ruins of the prison there, but have been told by various people that it'd be stupid to even try, as the area is a closed military zone as well as technically a crime scene, not to mention the fact that we're talking about an uninhabited island in the Pacific (although it is quite close to Lima), and thus there is no way you could ever get anywhere close. You, however, appear to have gotten extremely close. How did you manage to do it? Did you just pay some fisherman with a boat to bring you out there or something? Did you make landing on the island? I'd like to try myself. --] (]) 19:08, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

] predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
Hi. The ] has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland ] and ]. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like ]. For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current ]. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --]]] 00:37, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

You might want to keep your eye on ], which appears ripe for some major Peru-related flare up between those two. :I'm not so sure that I would have blocked them, to be honest with you. Messhermit seemed to willing to adopt a respectful tone on the talk page, and Bdean just showed up to the page recently and only added cited material. In any event, Messhermit seems to think that his block was justified (he said that he "can't complain"), and if he can't complain, than neither can I. However, Bdean has asked to be unblocked, and I think that you should at least seriously consider it. Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. El Fronton
--Descendall (talk) 19:08, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- I was out in Callao visiting Real Felipe and my cousin got a thought to go down by the port there and see if we could get someone to give us a boat ride. So we went down there and got a guy that gives tours there to give us a two person tour to El Fronton. We got up pretty close but we couldn't go on the island because they said it was mined.--Jersey Devil (talk) 23:12, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
Notice of change
Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that if you are inactive for a continuous three year period, you will be unable to request return of the administrative user right. This includes inactive time prior to your desysopping if you were desysopped for inactivity and inactive time prior to the change in policy. Inactivity is defined as the absence of edits or logged actions. Until such time as you have been inactive for three years, you may request return of the tools at the bureaucrats' noticeboard. After you have been inactive for three years, you may seek return of the tools only through WP:RFA. Thank you. MBisanz 00:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

User:descendall?
Hi. I wondered if you have any relation to a former account, now deleted, called User:Descendall. I ask because Descendall uploaded the following .jpg to Misplaced Pages commons: ]. There is now a discussion at Talk:Enhanced interrogation techniques#Image caption of black dog in front of prisoner about the removal of the picture from the associated article, and I wanted to invite the editor who uploaded it to weigh in.ElijahBosley 15:54, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite
Hi. The Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Misplaced Pages:The 10,000 Challenge and Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Misplaced Pages:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoLo dicono a Signa. 00:37, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}

will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Deletion discussion about La chilindrina
Hello, Jersey Devil, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. I edit here too, under the username Nerd1a4i, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, La chilindrina, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Misplaced Pages in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/La chilindrina.
You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Nerd1a4i}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!
