::About Mesoamérica, I was frustrated with the whole discussion and continuous reverts on Middle America (disambiguation), and I was afraid we were heading towards another edit war, and I spoke hastily to Corticopia. What I meant, is that there are two points of view (POV) which can be backed up with sources. I had the impression that both of you were trying to overrule the each other arguments with sources, where a middle ground could have been found. Moreover, I believe that sources should be classified or qualified: not all sources are equally valid, and one source versus a million sources will probably be best qualified as "infrequently this is the case". That was my issue with Mesoamerica. The geopolitical use of the term, while valid and sourced, is infrequent, in that Mesoamerica is an anthropological term first, and then a geopolitical term. By not using "qualifiers" (or adjectives) we give the impression that both definitions are equally used in synonymity.

:Hello, Alex: I've read your comments at the 3RR noticeboard and was curious about what evidence you have that the anon IP who edit warred with you is Corticopia. I do notice some similarities in the tone of writing the IP uses; is there more than this? If there is, leave it here and I'll have a look. Note that it makes no difference concerning Tango's block of you, which I fully support. ] ] 20:31, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
:Thanks for the advice. However, please note that the AfD nominator editor (Corticipia), asked for comments and votes in the articles ] and ]. Have you done something about this? Yes. He has been editing the same articles for '''almost 4 years''', causing '''problems''' and '''editwars''' here and there. He (or she) '''creates new accounts''' when his '''sockpuppetry, uncivil and disruptive manners''' or '''use of profanity''' are exposed, or when the account is '''too blocked''' and will caputre admin. attention with every 3RR or editwar he starts.
== Spam ==

Here is a report made by some users that edit ]: . Inside that report, there is a long list of proofs against this user.
Please do not spam article talk pages in order to attract selected participants to ]. Thank you.--<strong><font style="color: #082567">]</font>]<font style="color: #082567">]</font></strong> 16:00, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Recently I asked admin. ] to '''help me with his uncivi manners''' in the article ]. He's never willing to compromise and start a talk thus creating edit wars. This is the original message asking for help .

He in his multiple account, uses the same language, same arguments, even the same insults... even the same edit summary (as you will notice later)! He also has the tendency of editing his own comments lots of times after the 1st. entry.

All his accounts present the same behaviour. Please take a look at this message, read it CAREFULLY. It was originally created to draw attention from an admin.:

===Confirmed past accounts===
:{{vandal|E Pluribus Anthony}} {{checkmark}}
:{{vandal|Lucky Mustard}} {{checkmark}}
:{{vandal|A the 0th}} {{checkmark}}
:{{vandal|Cogito ergo sumo}} {{checkmark}}
:{{vandal|Ex post factoid}} (after the sockpuppetry case, he tried to return with his acc, but was caught) {{checkmark}}
:{{vandal|Ixtapl}} {{checkmark}}
:{{vandal|Corticopia}} {{checkmark}}

:Take a look at and to the second but '''most importantly''', check every single account '''BLOCK LOG''' and '''CONTRIBUTIONS'''. As admins know (and as stated in the sockpuppetry page), persons that use these practices always use edit summaries and have the same edit pattern.

===Edit pattern and POV pattern===
:You will see the same edit pattern in all of those accounts, for instance articles such as:

:*'''North America''' - Limiting the term to the US and Canada, excluding Mexico
:*'''Continent''' - Pushing 7 continental model as the right one, dimishing the other models
:*'''Georgia''' - Denying Georgia's self identification as a European country
:*'''Turkey''' - Denying Turkey's self identification and location in Europe
:*'''Cyprus'''
:*'''Canada''' (and articles related)
:* '''Lieutenant-Governor (Canada)'''
:*'''Central America''' - Adding Mexico to this region, when even Central American countries nor Mexico (located in North America) accounts the country in the region.
:*'''Anglo-America'''
:*'''Americas''' - Denying the use of the term "America" for the contient as a whole, as viewed in the 5 continental model and taught in different parts of the world.
:*'''Europe''' - Deleting countries he doesn't like or recognize as "European" based on personal POV.
:*'''Doctor Who''' - sci-fi series
:* ''']''' (and articles related such as ], ]...) and his sci-fi creations.

:Then look at and all his edit pattern.

:Sadly I opened my mouth too soon when he came back when I tried let other users know about Corticopia being the same person that came back to spread his bias and hate against Mexico and other countries (and stubbornly try to tag it as a "Central American" country), so I kinda prevent him from making that "mistake" again, he was very smart and stoped editing anything related to Isaac Asimov... but '''every other''' single article he edits is '''consistent with the edit pattern of the other accounts'''. I guess he was not very smart at the end of the day.

:He's from Toronto, Canada. Guess what? Look up the IP of the other "anonimous editor" that kept erasing the fact that North America is also a subcontinent. Yeah! You're right! Those IPs are from Toronto, Canada. It is not surprising. Look at the North America talk page, first message. I left a warning note there about him and his past accounts and his repeated anon. edits from IPs from Toronto.

:Yeah, that's right. As I already say, you must think everybody is like you. Sorry Kaf for this loooong message, but I think it was the time to demask Corticopia and his past. After all, he's the one that tried to "accuse" me of something HE DID and I believe he still does in the Isaac Asimov related pages (with another acc. of course). Thanks.

----

Also take a look at the history of every article Corticopia currently edits or is interested in. Even the first edits of each article. You will see that at least one of his previous accounts (most notably '''E Pluribus Anthony''') has edited or started the article. For example, take a look at the history of the article I've been blocked for (]). You will see his name on it.

For the anon IP behaviour look at .

Corticopia is from Toronto, that anon. IP is from Ottawa. Both from Ontario. That makes me believe he is in that city right now and that's why the main account "Corticopia" hasn't been online for 2 days now. If he logs in with Corticopia, the anon. IP will be registered in that account, providing a direct evidence that he is the same person. However, the level of knowledge about Misplaced Pages and the procedures to report 3RR violations are also clear evidence that he is the same person, as well as the use of uncivil manners and even the use of the edit summary (new users tend not to do this accordingly to Sockpuppet article).

This is a '''very complex case''', so I recommend you to study it slowly. I honestly believe Corticopia's behaviour is not the best for Misplaced Pages.

About my blocking for 1 month, I only want to point that it seems a little extreme (the amount of time). Corticopia was blocked for 1 month, and when he started another editwar he was blocked only for 2 weeks. Thanks and I hope you can reconsider the amount of time. I believe that will only encourage his behaviour as it is clear that his target was to get me blocked and trick the system by using an anon IP. ]'']'' ] 21:10, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

===More evidence===
Please take a look at ''']''''s edit pattern. He's a user that only created his account in January 2007. However, if you pay attention to his contribution log, he seems to be quite an expert in Misplaced Pages's policies and of course the use of the edit summary, that again, accordingly to ] is a clear sign of sockpuppetry. Please notice the words and style of writing he uses when talking to other editors. Very similar that the one used by the above accounts.

'''Quizimodo's''' edit pattern:
* CityPlace (Toronto)‎
* South America
* North America
* Asia
* Americas (terminology)
* Continent
* Americas
* Canada
* Dominion
* Dominion of Newfoundland

All this is no coincidence I believe, but you as an admin. have the tools to further investigate this and finally end it. Thanks you very much for reading all this lenghty report. ] 16:57, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
:All right, I'll look into this. It may take some time, though. ] ] 18:34, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

===Evidence of 2010, suspected and confirmed sockpuppets===
Green checkmarks indicate accounts and IP already confirmed and blocked.

* {{checkmark}} {{IPvandal|216.234.60.106}}<br>
Avoiding using main account to "disguise" (note edit pattern, articles such as ''Dominion of Canada, Star Trek, Mexico, Americas'', etc. and location at Toronto, Canada). Most notably is that this IP edited the article ], the one Corticopia got blocked for edit warring at. Also, this anon. IP deleted the edit warring notice in Corticopia's talk page.

* {{checkmark}} {{IPvandal|76.66.124.5}}<br>
Consistent edit pattern, location and ISP.

* {{checkmark}} {{vandal|Superluminary}}<br>
Registered from a known IP of Corticopia ( always from Toronto, Canada ). He admits to be IP 76.66.124.5 (after being challenged to register, because of his reverts in the article European Union were not taken seriously)

* {{checkmark}} {{IPvandal|76.66.127.109}}<br>
Consistent edit pattern, consistent IP ''range'', location (Toronto) and ISP, reverting to edit made by himself with IP 216.234.60.106 (compare and ).

* {{IPvandal|76.68.80.199}}<br>
Location, ISP and edit pattern consistent, also IP range. Again spreading a particular POV against Georgia (that it's not geopolitically part of Europe).

* {{vandal|Chipmunkdavis}}<br>
Again consistent edit pattern, geography related articles. Spreading same POV of his other accounts. Articles Turkey, Cyprus , Mexico, Central America (went as far as writing Central America is a continent). Account created in November 2009. Unused until May 2010. Then again used in July 2010, to edit in the metionated articles.

* {{checkmark}} {{vandal|Bosonic dressing}}<br>
As usual, consistent edit pattern in Canada, Quebec, Dominion, Cyprus, Georgia (country), Turkey, Europe (trying to impose the POV that Europe ends in the Carpatus), North America (trying to exclude Mexico from it), Central America, Latin America, Eurasia, Continent (excluding other continental models, prefer name Australia over Oceania), Americas, and geeky Battlestar Galatica-related topics.

=== Evidence table, 2011 ===

*Oldest sockpuppet: {{vandal|E Pluribus Anthony}}
*Second oldest sockpuppet: {{vandal|Corticopia}}
*Current SPI case: {{vandal|Bosonic dressing}}

Edit pattern is consistent between the three accounts with the largest edit count. Editing and writing style is practically the same, so is the edit summary writing style. Uncivility used in several edit summaries.

'''NOTE:''' The following table contains the articles with the '''most contributions''', to help make the case clearer for administrators. There are several other articles in which the contributions are one or two, but still consistent between the accounts.

== Followup RFC to ] now in community feedback phase ==

Hello. As a participant in ], you may wish to register an opinion on its followup RFC, ], which is now in its community feedback phase. Please note that ] is not simply a repeat of ], and is attempting to achieve better results by asking a more narrowly-focused, policy-based question of the community. Assumptions based on the previous RFC should be discarded before participation, particularly the assumption that Misplaced Pages has or inherently needs to have articles covering generalized perspective on each side of abortion advocacy, and that what we are trying to do is come up with labels for that. NOTE: Some of the text below refers to Corticopia instead of naming his oldest account E Pluribus Anthony, because this text was created at the time we were dealing with that specific user account.

Hello, Alex: I've read your comments at the 3RR noticeboard and was curious about what evidence you have that the anon IP who edit warred with you is Corticopia. I do notice some similarities in the tone of writing the IP uses; is there more than this? If there is, leave it here and I'll have a look. Note that it makes no difference concerning Tango's block of you, which I fully support. Heimstern Läufer (talk) 20:31, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes. He has been editing the same articles for almost 4 years, causing problems and editwars here and there. He (or she) creates new accounts when his sockpuppetry, uncivil and disruptive manners or use of profanity are exposed, or when the account is too blocked and will caputre admin. attention with every 3RR or editwar he starts.

Here is a report made by some users that edit United States: Incidents, Disruptive Edits and Uncivil Comments. Inside that report, there is a long list of proofs against this user.

Recently I asked admin. Picaroon to help me with his uncivi manners in the article Metropolis.

Take a look at the sockpuppetry case against E Pluribus (number 1) and to the second E Pluribus sockpuppetry case (number 2) but most importantly, check every single account BLOCK LOG and CONTRIBUTIONS. As admins know (and as stated in the sockpuppetry page), persons that use these practices always use edit summaries and have the same edit pattern.

Edit pattern and POV pattern

You will see the same edit pattern in all of those accounts, for instance articles such as:
  • North America - Limiting the term to the US and Canada, excluding Mexico
  • Continent - Pushing 7 continental model as the right one, dimishing the other models
  • Georgia - Denying Georgia's self identification as a European country
  • Turkey - Denying Turkey's self identification and location in Europe
  • Cyprus
  • Canada (and articles related)
  • Lieutenant-Governor (Canada)
  • Central America - Adding Mexico to this region, when even Central American countries nor Mexico (located in North America) accounts the country in the region.
  • Anglo-America
  • Americas - Denying the use of the term "America" for the contient as a whole, as viewed in the 5 continental model and taught in different parts of the world.
  • Europe - Deleting countries he doesn't like or recognize as "European" based on personal POV.
  • Doctor Who - sci-fi series
  • Isaac Asimov (and articles related such as Data, Star Trek...) and his sci-fi creations.
Then look at Corticopia's first edit and all his edit pattern.
Sadly I opened my mouth too soon when he came back when I tried let other users know about Corticopia being the same person that came back to spread his bias and hate against Mexico and other countries (and stubbornly try to tag it as a "Central American" country), so I kinda prevent him from making that "mistake" again, he was very smart and stoped editing anything related to Isaac Asimov... but every other single article he edits is consistent with the edit pattern of the other accounts. I guess he was not very smart at the end of the day.
He's from Toronto, Canada.
Yeah, that's right. As I already say, you must think everybody is like you. Sorry Kaf for this loooong message, but I think it was the time to demask Corticopia and his past. After all, he's the one that tried to "accuse" me of something HE DID and I believe he still does in the Isaac Asimov related pages (with another acc. of course). Thanks.

Also take a look at the history of every article Corticopia currently edits or is interested in. Even the first edits of each article. You will see that at least one of his previous accounts (most notably E Pluribus Anthony) has edited or started the article. For example, take a look at the history of the article I've been blocked for (Subregion).

This is a very complex case, so I recommend you to study it slowly.

AlexCovarrubias 21:10, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

More evidence

Please take a look at User:Quizimodo's edit pattern. He's a user that only created his account in January 2007. However, if you pay attention to his contribution log, he seems to be quite an expert in Misplaced Pages's policies and of course the use of the edit summary, that again, accordingly to WP:SOCK is a clear sign of sockpuppetry. Please notice the words and style of writing he uses when talking to other editors. Very similar that the one used by the above accounts.

Quizimodo's edit pattern:

  • CityPlace (Toronto)‎
  • South America
  • North America
  • Asia
  • Americas (terminology)
  • Continent
  • Americas
  • Canada
  • Dominion
  • Dominion of Newfoundland

All this is no coincidence I believe, but you as an admin. have the tools to further investigate this and finally end it. Thanks you very much for reading all this lenghty report. AlexCovarrubias 16:57, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

All right, I'll look into this. It may take some time, though. Heimstern Läufer (talk) 18:34, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Evidence of 2010, suspected and confirmed sockpuppets

Green checkmarks indicate accounts and IP already confirmed and blocked.

Avoiding using main account to "disguise" (note edit pattern, articles such as Dominion of Canada, Star Trek, Mexico, Americas, etc. and location at Toronto, Canada). Most notably is that this IP edited the article Geography of Mexico, the one Corticopia got blocked for edit warring at. Also, this anon. IP deleted the edit warring notice in Corticopia's talk page.

Consistent edit pattern, location and ISP.

Registered from a known IP of Corticopia (76.66.124.5 always from Toronto, Canada ). He admits to be IP 76.66.124.5 here (after being challenged to register, because of his reverts in the article European Union were not taken seriously)

Consistent edit pattern, consistent IP range, location (Toronto) and ISP, reverting to edit made by himself with IP 216.234.60.106 (compare and ).

Location, ISP and edit pattern consistent, also IP range. Again spreading a particular POV against Georgia (that it's not geopolitically part of Europe).

Evidence table, 2011

Edit pattern is consistent between the three accounts with the largest edit count. Editing and writing style is practically the same, so is the edit summary writing style. Uncivility used in several edit summaries.

NOTE: The following table contains the articles with the most contributions, to help make the case clearer for administrators. There are several other articles in which the contributions are one or two, but still consistent between the accounts.

Followup RFC to WP:RFC/AAT now in community feedback phase

Hello. As a participant in Misplaced Pages:Requests for comment/Abortion article titles, you may wish to register an opinion on its followup RFC, Misplaced Pages:Requests for comment/Abortion advocacy movement coverage, which is now in its community feedback phase. Please note that WP:RFC/AAMC is not simply a repeat of WP:RFC/AAT, and is attempting to achieve better results by asking a more narrowly-focused, policy-based question of the community. Assumptions based on the previous RFC should be discarded before participation, particularly the assumption that Misplaced Pages has or inherently needs to have articles covering generalized perspective on each side of abortion advocacy, and that what we are trying to do is come up with labels for that. Thanks! —chaos5023 20:25, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Barnstar of Diligence
Thank you for your work throughout the years in articles relating to Mexico. It's very unfortunate to see that you are no longer as active as you used to be, but I'm glad that most (if not all) of your work you did is still around for us to see and appreciate.

Anyhow, I wish you the best. ComputerJA (talk) 10:15, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Brazil national soccer team.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Brazil national soccer team.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Misplaced Pages:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Misplaced Pages's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Gunnex (talk) 20:39, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Coat of arms of Mexico

Coat of Arms request

Buenos dias my friend. I see you've uploaded coats of arms in the past. Would you be willing to recreate this into a nice vector image? It's the Coat of Arms of the Kīngitanga, the Māori King Movement. The seal is in the public domain and the colours can be found online. If this isn't really your thing that's cool. I hope you recover from your ailments soon.
