*Comment: Hi, I am the creator of Dr. Kenneth K. Kim's article/page, and am very embarrassed to also say that it is my very first article and it has been an epic failure at this point. No, I am not affiliated with the Doctor in the sense that I have never met him, I am not him, and I am not paid by him, but my mom works for a korean newspaper and they recently did an article on him which is how i found out about him and apparently this is enough to fall under the "conflict of interest" category for his page.
Anyways, I added another article, which was the Yahoo! News one, that I would also greatly appreciate if you could provide some support/validity to the statements made in the claims. the link is here: http://kr.news.yahoo.com/service/news/shellview.htm?linkid=15&articleid=20090617030000497i9&newssetid=87
There was another article, which was from The Korea Daily, and it is not online although I do have a scanned/digital copy of it. I am not sure how to get that one checked but if you could let me know how I could. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!People bios (talk) 04:58, 8 July 2010 (UTC) <small><span class="autosigned">—Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) </span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

==Your advice is needed==

This editor ] has been committing a number of personal attacks against me in the discussion page of article ]. He used words such as "faulty logic" in , "you tard" in , "pests like you" in . :If action were to be taken regarding the events at the Inner Mongolia talk page it should have been taken '''when it occurred'''. Faulty logic and a ''warning'' that I can be brutal (I did '''not''' say that I ''would be'' brutal) don't count at all. == MSU Interview ==

Dear Ugen64,

My name is Jonathan Obar ], I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Misplaced Pages administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community], where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:
* Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
* Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
* All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
* All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
* The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name] instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --] <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">— Preceding ] comment added by ] (]) 21:21, 2 March 2012 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:Unsigned IP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Further, it is not very clear what happened to the title of Baron Sinha after the death of the First Baron. The 2nd Baron Sinha was deemed the product of a polygamous marriage and was also an Indian citizen, both of which would have disqualified him from the peerage. Do you know if the title of Baron Sinha of Raipur is extant? Thanx,

As of 1 October 2015, any former bureaucrat who has not participated in bureaucrat activity for three years that wishes their bureaucrat permissions restored will need to request reinstatement at RFB.
::] ] 23:07, 23 Jan 2005 (UTC) (The Coordinator)

If you intend to return to bureaucrat activity, please request ] before 1 October 2015 or three years passes since your last bureaucrat activity, whichever is later.

If the user does not return to bureaucrat activity, another bureaucrat may request the removal of permissions at ]. Permissions removed for not meeting bureaucrat activity requirements may be re-obtained through a new request for bureaucratship.
Not really, for most of them - the only reason to include them would be if he was (or is) actually known by more than one first name (like ]), but most weren't. The few that used both or all their names usually used them as initials, like ]. The problem is that most peerage pages were created from reference works, which obviously include all the names, and we didn't think at the time to do <nowiki>]<nowiki>, so now whenever creates an article on a peer they just click on the link with all the middle names and the article ends up there. I've been changing a few to the piped link format, but it's a daunting task, so I've ended up just moving the ones that are created to where they should be. ~~~~

To assist with the implementation of this requirement, please see ]. Modeled after ] and similar to that process, the ] will be created on 1 September 2015. Bureaucrats who have not met the activity requirements as of that date will be notified by email (where possible) and on their talk page to advise of the pending removal.

I think it's bad taste to even have a category for "Place of death" and "Date of death" on presidents who are still alive. Perhaps there should be a separate template for living presidents. Or make the category just disappear when the president is still alive (see the template I made for ]) - ] 16:06, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Hi Ugen, I'm not sure if you remember me, but I remember you from the old days of Misplaced Pages. it's a really, really long story how I came across this (I can explain it to you by email if you like), but I just discovered that nearly eleven years ago, the user page of your old non-admin account ] had been by ] and then by ], ostensibly because the Cryptfiend64 account had been inactive. Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Dr. Kenneth K. Kim

I found your name at Misplaced Pages:Translators available#Korean-to-English. Would you take a look at the Korean-language sources provided at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Dr. Kenneth K. Kim and see if they are neutral reliable sources? Thanks, Cunard (talk) 04:31, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

  • Comment: Hi, I am the creator of Dr.

News one, that I would also greatly appreciate if you could provide some support/validity to the statements made in the claims. the link is here: http://kr.news.yahoo.com/service/news/shellview.htm?linkid=15&articleid=20090617030000497i9&newssetid=87 There was another article, which was from The Korea Daily, and it is not online although I do have a scanned/digital copy of it. I am not sure how to get that one checked but if you could let me know how I could. I would greatly appreciate it. Fair use rationale for File:Fmplayer.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Fmplayer.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Your advice is needed

This editor HXL has been committing a number of personal attacks against me in the discussion page of article Inner_Mongolia. He used words such as "faulty logic" in , "you tard" in , "pests like you" in . Also he threatened me that he "can be brutal" here in . Please advise whether such a treatment of a fellow editors is acceptable? If not acceptable, then what actions are taken to repair the situation? Thank you in advance. ༄༅།།གང་ཐུ་ཡཱ།། (talk) 15:28, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

If action were to be taken regarding the events at the Inner Mongolia talk page it should have been taken when it occurred. Faulty logic and a warning that I can be brutal (I did not say that I would be brutal) don't count at all. An excellent step to repair the situation would be to resolve Gantuya's SPI. --HXL's Roundtable, and Record 23:54, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:ThomasMore.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Misplaced Pages's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:36, 5 May 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. You may wish to read the Misplaced Pages's image use policy. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:36, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

While you're cleaning up after User:Nickoso, can you take a look at the history of Margaret "Pegeen" Hanrahan / Pegeen Hanrahan (& related talk page), which seems to be an unnecessary rename away from common name. Proposed deletion of 5th Panzer Division (Germany)

The article 5th Panzer Division (Germany) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No verification, references or citations since October 2010.

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. :- ) DCS 08:52, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

MSU Interview

Dear Ugen64,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Misplaced Pages administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the communityHERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review).

If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your nameHERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar — Preceding unsigned comment added by 35.9.115.210 (talk) 21:21, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi! I'm serving as the wikipedian-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution Archives until June! One of my goals as resident, is to work with Wikipedians and staff to improve content on Misplaced Pages about people who have collections held in the Archives - most of these are scientists who held roles within the Smithsonian and/or federal government. I thought you might like to participate since you are interested in the sciences! Sign up to participate here and dive into articles needing expansion and creation on our to-do list. Feel free to make a request for images or materials at the request page, and of course, if you share your successes at the outcomes page you will receive the SIA barnstar! Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Speedy deletion nomination of Rangpur

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Rangpur requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Misplaced Pages:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Jguard18 12:11, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

List of months by year

In 2005, you deleted List of months by year and some of its child lists per its AFD. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the impression I get is that that was almost solely because the lists were almost pure redlinks, which explains why List of months by year: 2000–2050 is still around. Does the AFD prejudice against converting the 2000–2050 list into a new List of months by year, so long as the list doesn't include all those redlinks. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 20:03, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

Whoops, that was Xezbeth who deleted List of months by year. You deleted List of months by year: 1900-1999. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 22:01, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Elnar Karimov

The article Elnar Karimov has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

C679 14:14, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Implementation of Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrats#Bureaucrat activity requirements

You are receiving this message because you are listed at Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrats#Former bureaucrats. Writ Keeper pointed out that these users were not directly notified of the community discussion ending August 2015, where consensus was reached to remove the bureaucrat permissions of users who have not participated in bureaucrat activity for three years.

As of 1 October 2015, any former bureaucrat who has not participated in bureaucrat activity for three years that wishes their bureaucrat permissions restored will need to request reinstatement at RFB.

If you intend to return to bureaucrat activity, please request restoration of permissions before 1 October 2015 or three years passes since your last bureaucrat activity, whichever is later.

Bureaucrats are expected to exercise the duties granted by their role while remaining cognizant of relevant community standards concerning their tasks. In addition to the "Inactive bureaucrat accounts" requirements, if a bureaucrat does not participate in bureaucrat activity for over three years, their bureaucrat permissions may be removed. The user must be notified on their talk page and by email one month before the removal, and again and a few days prior to the removal. If the user does not return to bureaucrat activity, another bureaucrat may request the removal of permissions at meta:Steward requests/Permissions. Permissions removed for not meeting bureaucrat activity requirements may be re-obtained through a new request for bureaucratship.
  1. Bureaucrat activity is widely construed and includes acting or commenting as a bureaucrat at any venue including WP:BN/RFA/RFB/RFBAG/BRFA and responding to requests in their capacity as a global renamer or subscriber to the bureaucrats' mailing list or signalling that they remain actively engaged and available for bureacrat tasks.

To assist with the implementation of this requirement, please see Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrat activity. Modeled after Misplaced Pages:Inactive administrators and similar to that process, the log page will be created on 1 September 2015. Bureaucrats who have not met the activity requirements as of that date will be notified by email (where possible) and on their talk page to advise of the pending removal.

If the notified user does not return to bureaucrat activity and the permissions are removed, they will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFB. Removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon the affected user in any way.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. –xeno 20:54, 18 August 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The user page of your old non-admin account

Hi Ugen, I'm not sure if you remember me, but I remember you from the old days of Misplaced Pages. it's a really, really long story how I came across this (I can explain it to you by email if you like), but I just discovered that nearly eleven years ago, the user page of your old non-admin account Cryptfiend64 had been proposed for deletion by Slgrandson and then deleted by Kurykh, ostensibly because the Cryptfiend64 account had been inactive. Since having a valid user page for an inactive account is not and never has been a criteria for deleting a user page, I've taken the liberty of undeleting it. I notice you were notified about this proposed deletion while you were away ... I would've just removed the proposed deletion tag if I'd encountered that page back then. Bonus points for being a valid alt account for security purposes long before such a thing was codified in policy. If you'd like that user page re-deleted, I'd be happy to oblige ... or just tag it with {{db-u1}}. I understandyou haven't edited here for a while now, but I thought I'd give you a heads-up here anyway. Graham87 13:29, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Circa

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Circa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article consists of a dictionary definition or other article that has been transwikied to another project and the author information recorded. The transwikied text can be found at wikt:circa.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Proposed deletion of Northwestern Europe

Notice

The article Northwestern Europe has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:OR WP:SYNTH, full of generalisations and out-of-context quote mining of contradictory definitions. Already removed a lot of bogus sources that were nothing more than googling for a term and then citing whatever comes up, ignoring context, disregarding inconsistencies in an uncritical pursuit of confirming one's own beliefs. Most additions were done by now-blocked User:Madreterra (blocked for.... "ersistent addition of unsourced content)".

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
