The school rivals of Byrd Middle School are ], Tuckahoe Middle School, and ]. The clubs offered at Byrd are Drama, Forensics, Law Enforcement, Young Authors, Digital Media, Digital Graphics, French, Spanish, FCCLA, Sports for Teens, ], and ].

==Schedule==
Byrd Middle School runs on a ]. This means that there are four classes a day, each one lasting an hour and thirty minutes long. Students have four classes one day, and the next day, they have four different classes. These days are known as Day 1 and Day 2.

==iBooks==
Byrd is part of the ] ] program. Each student in the school gets an ] several weeks after school opens. These iBooks are brand new as of 2006. Also starting in 2006, the technology teacher Mr. Woodward created the "Technology Ninja" character who hosts short videos on iBook help topics.
