George Washington was often called" The Father of Our Contry".(a) He was the first President of the U.S. (b) He was laid the fountain for alot of laws and traditions we have today (c) He was called that because of his significant role in the revolution. These are the reasons why he was called "The Father of Our Country".

  • Under Washington's Interment and New Tomb, it says that his brother, John Augustine Washington, refused to let his body be moved in 1832. But the article on John Augustine Washington says he died in 1787, so it was, presumably, someone else. This should be fixed, but I don't have the information to do so.

Washington was often criticized for many things he did both politically and militarily and that must be recognized if the entirety of his history is to be correctly told.
  • Change the comment that Mr. Washington was only one of two presidents to personally command the military to a comment stating that he was either (1) the only one or (2) merely that he did it. See http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080613215204AAuLedT
